With the assumption that TK423 is unable to shut down the Abadarmor(Blue) George 09-23 fires three bolts of magical energy into the construct.

I really hope that TK423 was successful in his attempt as that was a dreadful roll!

Whipping out her engineering kit, Twila-4 begins trying to get the door to the security room open. She keeps looking over her shoulder at the scuffle close by, hoping the others have that Abadarmor under control.

If she doesn't succeed, she'll take a 5' step north so Scruffy can try on his turn.


TK423 tries to remotely shut down the Abadarmor, but it's systems are hardened against such an attempt. But the force spheres conjured by George slam into the construct, cracking its chest plate. Meanwhile, Twila-4 tries to get into the security room, but can't quite figure out how to override the biometric lock!

@TK423: My understanding is that constructs are immune to Computers/Engineering attempts to hack or disable unless there's a special class ability at work.

Just a reminder for folks attempting Engineering checks to do things like disable the motion sensors or unlock doors: if you don't have an engineering tool kit, you take a -2 penalty on the attempt.

Well shoot, where's the off switch for this thing?


Kaath cuts a deep, glowing wound in the Abadarmor, exposing its internal circuitry. But although badly damaged, the armor remains operational and responds by snapping its electrified taclash as the kasatha! But Kaath parries the attack easily.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the cubicles, the other Abadarmor fires another sharp bolt at Scruffy's drone, but the little distraction is too fast to hit!

Director Ebaki races to keep up with the group. "Don't leave me!"

One attacks Kaath in melee, the other does a move action to reload and then attacks robert0. Both attacks missed.

And he gets to work on the door lock.

Scruffy sees TK423 step up to the door and get work. He gives a brief shrug and taps a button on his custom rig, surrounding him in a field of energy.
"Hey Robert-0 better double check the office!"


Although the Abadarmor's metallic shell is too thick for Kaath's glancing slash to penetrate, George 09-23's second, more powerful volley of force spheres punches holes into the construct! It flies backwards into the wall and slumps to the ground, jerking spasmodically.

Just a few feet away, TK423 gains master access over the biometric lock and springs it open! Inside the room, shrouded in darkness, is a security terminal with a computer, a rolling chair, and the smoking corpse of Sassanda. The weapons locker is right where it should be. Following Scruffy's flashlight beam, Director Ebaki shouts "I can open that up!" and then races into the room. He presses a palm print to the locker to reveal everything that was stowed.

But somewhere over in the cubicles, the sound of the remaining Abadarmor changes. It stops moving away from you and is coming in your direction!

Blue is dead. Good teamwork!

Other Abadarmor has done a move action to reload crossbolter and a move action to come closer.

Dashing inside, Twila-4 grabs her precious weapons, keeping her brand new, never-been-used static arc pistol in hand. <sigh> Not enough time. As she's packing away her survival knife, she shouts: "Keep the doorway clear!"

George nods at Kaath. He cannibalises the energy stored in his magical tattoo to power his last full spell of the day.

@GM Jhaeman - At the time of casting he does have line of effect to the Abadarmor. Dental floss is good for more than just flossing. :)

Level 1 is harsh on casters. Now it is time for cantrips. ;)


Chunks of metal fly off the Abadarmor as George's powerful magic missiles slam into it! But it comes on, implacably, and shoots at the android with a crossbolter. George is impaled with the metal projectile and badly wounded!

@George: The attack hits and unfortunately does maximum damage: 12 P.
Good job on the magic missiles though--they've really made a difference for a weapon-less group.

@Everyone: Keep in mind it's a move action to grab one thing from the weapon's locker.

George yanks out the bolt (as a fluff free action) and quickly draws and quaffs a serum of healing.

Once everyone's inside, she points out: "The longer we sit here, the sooner every one of their security measures will attack us. We need to keep moving." She offers George a serum of healing mk. 1 to tide him over.

@GM Jhaeman: Did our characters see what the magenta lines are near the smoker? I don't want to RP mentioning them if we don't know they're there yet.

TK423 grabs the closes Abadarmor and drags it into the security office.

"Does any one have the ability to re-program this thing to fight on our side, or strip it's weapons? That crossbow was very deadly." He asks.


@Scruffy: I'll need a Computers check to hack into the computer.

@Twilia: No, I get it. That was my (failed!) attempt at humor. In character, you didn't see anything where those magenta lines are on the map when you came in.

@TK423: Once someone takes a closer look, they'll see removing the Abadarmor's weaponry just won't work--the weapons are too closely integrated into the circuitry of the robot.

"I can take a look at it after I rest although I would imagine that Scruffy has more specialised knowledge of robots than I do. I would think that reprogramming and repairing the Abadarmor would require more equipment and time than we currently have right now."

All her precious weapons finally stowed back on her person, Twila-4 holds her static arc pistol at the ready, pointed at the ceiling for now. Her eyes are trained on the north door as she asks in a voice that's much calmer than her taut-spring posture: "<sigh> Director Ebaki: with your knowledge of Adabarcorp's security measures, which escape route do you suggest as likely the least dangerous? If you do not know, I suggest we exit the way we came."

If there's a window in the north door, she'll look out of it to see if anything is coming from that quarter.


Ebaki is managing to hold himself together, but just barely. "We've got to get to the elevator--it's the only way out! I don't know if anyone else is alive--you saw what those shock grids did to anyone sitting at a computer. But it's possible. I just don't know!"

Scruffy:
You're unable to access most network systems from this computer, but can you access the motion detectors. Each of the little glowing symbols on the map is a motion detector and covers a 15' radius. Sweeping the floor, you detect movement in three different areas. First, something is moving very slowly back and forth in the upper left corner of the map. Second, there's fast movement out of the elevator split into two different directions. Third, there's very slow movement coming slowly in your direction from the mid-upper left of the map. I've placed yellow arrows to indicate all of this movement.

Kaath:
The squelching sound is *slowly* drawing closer, but for now at least, it's out of range of your darkvision.

Twila-4:
There's no window. Assuming you open the door a crack to peek out, you don't see anything in the hallway.

Closing the door again after peeking through, Twila-4 reports: "<sigh> All clear out there for now. ... <sigh> The threats in the area we just went through have probably been all or mostly deployed, so I suggest we run straight through there to the Smoker. Ebaki, you'll have to get us through. I'll go ahead and try to shoot out the motion sensors. I'll wave you forward when I'm done, so keep an eye peeking out that door. Anyone want to help?" If no one objects, Twila-4 heads back into the main office area and begins shooting at whatever motion sensors she sees that could detect movement heading towards the Smoker. Of course, anyone watching security cameras would be able to see the pattern. She decides that, if she has time, she'll clear the way down the hall to the left (northwest corner office) for good measure.
