@dfsealres - ok, I see. So:
Take a look at Factions read through it and pick whatever resonates with your concept.
With regards to Earn Income. For every scenario that is not a bounty you get 8 days of downtime, which you can spend earning money, you can use any Lore skill, Crafting or Performance DC14.
Is it clear? When you have character number, selected faction and you know what your PC wants to do in downtime, please post again ;)

My alchemist would be slightly less squishy (and has more healing) than my sorcerer, but I see there's an alchemist here. Maybe their playstyles are different enough?
I'm leaning towards the goblin sorcerer for better skillset coverage unless others have opinions (they're both fun characters).

I think that Cracked Tusk will be different enough in terms of playstyle. And we've already proved that having two alchemists on the team can work ;) And maybe it does not end with the death of one (followed by resurrection months later ;))
So I would say it is up to you. I like them both.
Kernal Klank

I haven't played an alchemist yet in 2e, but I'm sure if they are different builds they'll work fine. Even if they are the same build they have flexibility. Either way, this is tier 1-2 so we don't have that many things that need to be covered other than skills, damage, healing.

Really bored so I reviewed my character and made a couple changes since we haven't started yet. Instead of Orc Weapon Familiarity, he now has Orc Lore, to fit better with his background, though he doesn't appreciate the actions his clan had been taking, hence striking out and Freelancing with the Pathfinders. Equipment updated to reflect this as he now carries a sickle vs a greataxe. Quick Bomb was replaced with Alchemical savant to show how he utilized his talents in the field to identify possible reagents to fuel his mutagens. Character Sheet link was added that provides all other details not listed in profile.

Nice! I'm always interested to see alchemist who aren't bombers.
BTW, Elsha has a loaded formula book that Cracked Tusk can copy from.
Elsha Ustosh
|
Yeah.... Elsha spends *all* of his gold on formulae, and had one session a while back where three alchemists shared books.
If I recall there aren't very clear rules about the *cost* of transcribing formulae (in fact there's no cost defined at all....?! Just buying or copying from others).

Yeah not that many mutagenist around. However, the build is possible with medium armor and some other alchemist changes (especially with drakeheart mutagen which is super cool).
Regarding cost for transcribing the formula - yeah I remember that session, and I haven't got the time to look through he FAQ yet

Hey All,
I posted an initial post so I am considering this game as started.
The slides are ready and you should have permission to view and edit them. Please fill in the avatar and some details on slide 2
With regards to expectations:
- I would want this to be a fun game, good RP means more to me than amazing rolls, it should be role-playing game and not roll playing game.
- I value highly good description and interaction between the players, bantering, chatting etc. If you have any side stories that you would want me to weave into the story DM me. (with the loot I can put some irrelevant note or whatever that ties to what your PC cares about).
- I do expect 1 post during weekdays and I do appreciate 1 post during weekends, if you have any vacations, long absences etc. please inform me so that I know to bot you.
- Feel free to raise questions, concerns etc with regards to the rules, my way of GM'ing and anything really.
This scenario has a part using Influence rules in it. I linked the rules below the slides URL. Please have a read, they are new to me, so the more of us are familiar with them the better.
Technicalities: If I count correctly the challenge points: 16 and we are playing the low tier (1-2)
As you know I am running the second table of this scenario for the higher tier, and I started them a week before. I will make few things differently to test certain approaches. And as I said I am beginning my GM'ing with PF2 so feel free to give me feedback along the way.

As promised, Elsha's advanced alchemy prep updated. Mostly his bombs, but also Cat's Eye Elixirs. He's leaving one batch for quick alchemy. Taking other requests now if party members like a particular alchemical tool for assistance (cognative mutagen, etc.). I'll finalize at end of today.

You pick a number of other players equal to the number of glyphs you have and they each get a hero point.

Do we get starting consumables for our Pathfinder training, or is that the potion?
Yes, you get your regular training item normally. So please select one and keep track of them.
Keep in mind, your team is a bit light on healing, this tournament will consist of more than 1 fight that will happen within the same day. There will be time to heal in between but your resources are limited (Jiki has some Soothe spells, Thurk has some Medicine for treating wounds).
Due to that, I just want you to be aware of the resources that you have.
The fights are nothing crazy, so it is like any other scenario, but things can turn south (hopefully they will not).
Kernal Klank

Got it, I'll pass it to Kernal.
Thanks!

Yeah, taking the healing potion for sure.

Elsha took the minor healing potion school item. He is trained in medicine as well. If worse comes to worst, he can quick alchemy a minor elixir of life.
Kernal Klank

Klank is field commissioned so he gets no freebies. He does have a single personal minor healing potion, so a total of 2.

Scuttlesnarp sneaks ahead and attempts to lunge out at the shovel-wielding foe.
◈ Sneak, ◈ Sneak, ◈ Strike (with sneak attack?) vs Dark Blue
...
Ok chaps, I need some guidance here.
Hide rules when you have the cover or are concealed you can try to hide from others. Scuttlesnarp was behind Elsha so he could do it.
Now he is sneaking into the yard. In there is no cover neither anything that could give concealment. Sneak rules - says that:
At the end of your movement, the GM rolls your Stealth check in secret and compares the result to the Perception DC of each creature you were hidden from or undetected by at the start of your movement. If you have cover or greater cover from the creature throughout your Stride, you gain the +2 circumstance bonus from cover (or +4 from greater cover) to your Stealth check. Because you’re moving, the bonus increase from Taking Cover doesn’t apply. You don’t get to roll against a creature if, at the end of your movement, you neither are concealed from it nor have cover or greater cover against it. You automatically become observed by such a creature.
So the above would mean that with kobold ending his sneaking he would be observed => no flat-footed effect.
Also, keep in mind that Jiki the showman set up 4 lights to make you more visible ;)
I will resolve the round with the above in mind (no sneak attack), but Scuttlesnarp, feel free to challenge me on that as I never played with sneaking in combat.
Cracked Tusk
|
Some GMs play it as he would get it as he wasn’t observed until he moment he was striking, a little flavor added as a means not to nerf the sneak ability, as the only other way he could use it at this point is if he could get a flanking bonus, which is not likely in this setup for a while. Others play it RAW and state that as soon as his first movement was over, so was his stealth.

Yeah that seems like a fair read. Figured I try it since otherwise I wasn't going to get any kind of sneak attack.
| GM Farol |
Ok, so now we are into the first part of influence. The rules are linked above. In the meantime, you can attempt to heal your allies (threat wound etc.). Each influence round takes roughly 15 minutes and you have 1-2 hours for healing. That should be enough with how little damage you took.
Please track used resources as the whole scenario takes 1 day.
| GM Farol |
Hey Chaps,
So 1.5 week have passed which roughly means 1 h in real life ;) As that I would like to give 1 Hero Point to Thurk. Why?! You may ask, I rarely see a Wizzard who not spend his actions on throwing missiles, Telekinetic Projectiles, and Electric Arcs. He actually used other spells like shattering gem.
I liked that.
Feel free to provide feedback as we go, this will allow me to put a tag on you and focus fire you during the next fights ;)
Btw. good job during the fight!
Cracked Tusk
|
I’d be down to just 7 HP if it wasn’t for that gem, mad props to Thurk for saving me those points and having to use a healing potion. I’m not using one this round to conserve them for the next two, but have them ready.
Thurk von Wolkowitz

Awww, thanks! It is actually my first full arcane caster ever, initially I wanted to see if I can avoid direct damage spells entirely and focus on support only but I got into a bit of a trouble last scenario because of it so picked up a few offensive ones at level-up.
Shattering gem is a really cool little spell for an abjurer! Props to Paizo for finding new creative ways to make casters interesting and useful without overpowering them!
Btw, Klank, your avatar picture cracks me up every time I look at it. What character is it?
Kernal Klank

I honestly have no idea, I just know the picture spoke to me for a no nonsense Dwarf named Kernal!
