Winona seeing what's going down manages to keep most the herd out of the trouble. A few seems to panic and scatter, but not enough to case a stamped.

Flying Eagle Hits one with his revolver, sending sparks flying as the machine drops in a jumble of limbs. Chin readies himself for the upcoming fight.

GM

As Winona Leads most of the cattle away, the two spiders move toward the two attacks on their feet. Both get within six feet and you hear a click as they spray something toward Flying Eagle and Chin. Rufus is a good 4 yards away from his attacker, but it tries to spray him as well with a grout of hissing liquid. Keeper - I'm assuming I was hit because I didn't have my shield up. I'm declaring now that anytime we get into an unknown or potentially dangerous situation in the future, I will immediately draw my shield.

Flying Eagle tries to recover from the spray :

Spirit & Wild: 1d8 ⇒ 41d6 ⇒ 1 = Success

He chants and concentrates :

Spirit & Wild: 1d8 ⇒ 51d6 ⇒ 3 = Success

And the grass on the ground where the spider is standing suddenly grows very long and wraps around the spider.
Entangled = can't move and is Vulnerable (+2 to my attacks).

He steps to the right, then forward 2 steps, then a step to the left (not Withdrawing) so he is standing behind the spider, so that the spider can't point its mouth at him anymore. And draws his shield.

Can't remember if you allow all players within an "initiative block" (between bad-guys) to post in any order we wish (it speeds things up a bit in PbP), so please forgive me if you want us to post in strict initiative order...

Raise: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Female Human Seasoned | Pace 6 | Parry 5 | Toughness 7 (2) | 4/3 Bennies

Since you can Ace on damage rolls, those 4s get bonus rerolls too.

Human Indian : Parry 7 (with shield), Toughness 6(1)

I think he did, he just put them "in-line" with the original roll instead of as a separate re-roll. His basic damage die is a d4; it rolled a 4, so he added another d4 to the roll, which came up a 4, so he added another, which came up a 1. As a GM, I still sometimes don't recognize that format at first glance myself.

Female Human Seasoned | Pace 6 | Parry 5 | Toughness 7 (2) | 4/3 Bennies

Oof, that makes it impossible to tell if his base damage is d4, or 3d4.

Human Indian : Parry 7 (with shield), Toughness 6(1)

Yeah, the GM needs to know that a martial artist's base damage is STR+d4 in order to parse the roll correctly...

GM

Between Flying Eagle's Gunfire and the Punches of all things the last Spider goes down still tangled in grass. Winona keeps the cattle free of the area as the hissing green liquid runs from its joints.

Human Indian : Parry 7 (with shield), Toughness 6(1)

"What the heck *are* these things? Since they're mechanical, like that steam wagon that guy who harassed us about those flying machine plans had, could they have come from him? He didn't seem convinced that we were telling the truth."

Flying Eagle starts checking the ground to see if these heavy machines left any visible tracks of their trek to the campsite in order to follow them back to their source :

Notice & Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 31d6 ⇒ 3

But can't find any traces.

"Boss, I think we should keep round-the-clock watches from now on in case any other mechanical things should be sent our way."

Parry: 8 (10); Toughness 6; Bennies 3/3; PP 12/15

”I think those guys were not happy with the info you gave them earlier. This was probably their way of showing it.” Chin says as he sways slightly in the tall grass.

Male Human Toughness 5, Parry 5, Notice d4; Bennies 2/3; Wounds 0

Agreed. Lets keep things clear of this area until we have had a chance to look over the ground in the daylight

Rufus then dismounts and walks back to the area that he dropped his shotgun.
He dismounts and does a quick look for his shotgun. if he doesnt find it, he will leave it for morning to to look for it
