As the door gets broken you hear an explosion on the other side of the door. Once it is fully broken you find the following pathway scorched with ash. Jorne finds a trap at the end of the hallway to another door. Then works at disarming it.

While waiting for Dinenen and Quince, he checks out the next door and pathway, taking 20 on Perception.

He swears at the door and looks at Lykan over his shoulder, "Damn I jammed it. Well it's halberd time." He then begins to bash the door down with Lykan's help if he offers.

After disarming the trap he walks over it to double check that he was successful. Luckily nothing happens as he walks to the next door. He listens again, Perception 36.

He winks at Lykan and offers, "If you want to think of me as prey that probably won't work out for you in the end. Come on we have a mastermind to find." He opens the door and slowly enters taking his time to search for any more traps.


After Jorne looks for traps you see the hallway snake around. You find stairs up just a few of them and then you find a strange room.

This octagonal chamber, which vaults to a twenty-foot-high ceiling, is composed of multiple slabs of opaque, white crystal fitted together to form a dome in the distinctive shape of an inverted eye, its gaze focused into the room below. This white crystal gleams with a subdued moonlike glow. The walls of the chamber are covered with arcane symbols, stylized line art, and images of cyclopes. A twenty-foot-diameter circle is incised into the stone of the floor directly beneath the great eye-shaped dome.

He opens the door and slips into the next chamber.

A burbling fountain and pool that stink of sulfur occupy the center of this chamber. A shallow channel cut into the stone of the floor passes beneath a pair of bronze double doors, funneling the foul-smelling water out of the pool to the east.

Jorne continues searching the room for traps, another 45 minutes pass as he looks for traps. What do the rest of you do?

The water seems fairly safe to drink but tastes horrible. The pool is 10 feet deep.

The monk will fill some of the time centering himself after his recent emotional distraction. He'll perform a couple of long, slow forms. His breathing slows as he practices. About two-thirds of the way through the first form there is a conflicting burst of speed for a sweep and elbow smash, and then just as quickly a return to the sedate pace that he had been moving. Several transition stances during the second form show an amazing appearance of balance.

The last room described which I believe was the fountain room. Thank you for updating the map because it has been hard to understand where we are. I assumed we had already looked through all of the items of interest in the octagonal room. I had already blown the Arcana check there.

"Lots of cyclops imagery throughout both rooms here. Though the pictograms make it clear they have connections to demons. As if fighting that last creature didn't make that clear." He looks at the fountain, "Be careful by the water. There is some unusual movement there."

"I suspect with all that we have encountered here. The water maybe the guardian." The red haired elf warns.


Looking into the fountain you don't see much movement except for the small spring that fuels the small channel. The water moves with the fountain but every once in a while the water moves more of its own accord. You don't see anything that is making it move.

As Jorne gets about 3/4 into the room looking for traps and anything unusual and Dinenen is adjacent to the fountain the waters move even more and collect into a body of some kind. This translucent creature’s shape shifts between a spinning column of water and a crashing wave.

Round 2

Lykan yells out to warn the group and swings his quarterstaff, connecting with the first blow but the water just reforms after his staff hits it. Then he misses entirely. Jorne does his best to have his blade slice off or at least slightly deflect the blow of the elemental from Dinenen and water splashes onto the group from his strike. The elemental slams into Dinenen and even Jorne's efforts did not help. Dinenen is looking bloody, ragged, and slightly drowned. Jezebel commands the stone to attack the elemental as rocks from the walls pull free and form into a like image of Jezebel. They seem to have no effect upon the creature and Jezebel sighs. St. John runs away. Quince's attack is deflected and does not gain purchase. Dinenen's punch lands solidly but does not appear to have any effect but a bit of water splashing off.

He takes a full round action he strikes at the elemental keeping his valiant form in case others want to withdraw safely and says so, [b]"I am keeping my valiant stance in case others want to withdraw safely.
