I am a mechanic, not a pilot. So Dream needs to zoom!
Waylon Stanmore
What skill does that? Use Computers? There is no Navigation skill.
Ardan Kwinn
Looks like astrogation is mostly Use Computer.
So it looks like we may not have a pilot? Can an astromech fly this thing while we wait 'til someone can gain a level or two and gain it as a trained skill?
Waylon Stanmore
Dream is good as a pilot. We just lack someone telling him where to go.
Ardan Kwinn
Once the team returns to the Banshee, Ardan takes the navigator's post and brings up the navicomputer.
"Where to? Frankly I don't have a clear idea of what's next. Feels like we're just barely escaping one scrape after another."
Use Computer: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Of course! Because of course.
Quen Pah
What capabilities does the Banshee have? I have never really ever paid attention to the whole space flight stuff as it has never really ever interested me and there was always someone in the groups I have played with that wanted to be the pilot.

It's a Baudo-class star yacht. Basically a luxury ship. I think our "cover story" is that Ardan, the wealthy and dissolute noble from a dissident family, is going on a leisurely space cruise with some random hangers-on.
This ship class has modest shields, a class 2 hyperdrive (so it's somewhat slow), low sublight speed, and only a single laser cannon. We went through a whole thing a while back about installing some upgrades, but I'd have to go digging to find what we changed. I think we gave it slightly better shields and guns, but I forget.
Think of it like we're taking the space version of a small private luxury yacht on a cruise and we happen to have one anti-piracy machine gun on the foredeck, just in case.
EDIT: Here is where we did the upgrades. We upgraded the guns and the shields, and put in combat maneuvering thrusters that allow it to dogfight. It still isn't a great ship for space combat, but it's not defenseless.
Waylon Stanmore
"I think anywhere would be better from here. Perhaps we should return to our contacts with the Rebellion and check in with them. They may have information on the Inquisitor Valin or this twi'lek." Waylon says.
Ardan Kwinn
Basically any ship with a hyperdrive has a navigation computer. If we have an astromech droid, that can do the calculations instead (the astromech helps because it may be able to do the calculations while the pilot is busy with other things). In this case, we are not in the middle of a fight or anything, so we can just work on the calculations to wherever we decide to go, and then jump.
Waylon Stanmore
"Lets jump back to the last system we were in where we met with the Rebellion." Waylon says.
Prox Simmoss
Prox and her droid were the pilots which is part of the reason why they stayed behind
As the others are returning to the ship, Prox works out a flight plan that will allow them to get to the far side of the planet from the Empire ships while Artee-3 calculates an emergency fast jump from which they can then make any jump that they need to make afterwards.
Aka a quick short jump to get out of combat, then a discussion of where to go while making that short jump, then heading to that other destination is what I am thinking might be the best plan however if you all have a better plan.
Prox Simmoss
Prox replies, "I am hoping to get close to that other ship that is on this planet and hopefully confuse who the target is by mimicking their transponder code and if nothing else maybe the empire will shoot that other guy down for us, if not well... at least it will be worth the try. Meanwhile, we try to put this planet between us and the Empire capital starships and deal with their starfighters they will most likely send. That should give us the time we need to finish plotting a safe course to bug out of here and hopefully before those capital ships can get a solid bead on us. From there we can decide where we want to go, using more jumps than necessary to help mask our final destination. That is unless someone else has a better plan how not to get shot down that does not include surrendering."
Prox Simmoss
OCC: Okay just waiting on the GM to let me know if I need to make any rolls to locate that other ship on planet and/or what I need to avoid us getting pegged by imperial capital ships. Luckily we have the ability to maneuver like a starfighter making us a very difficult target for capital ships to hit which is why they carry starfighters. Also I thought the ship had like gun turrets which someone would need to man -- kind of like on the Millenium Falcon.
Waylon Stanmore
Waylon straps himself in and begins to Meditate as he waits to see if Prox can outrun the waiting Imperial forces.
Quen Pah
That is not enough to find the proper destination.
The computers detect a gladitor class star detroyer entering into orbit
https://swse.fandom.com/wiki/Gladiator-Class_Star_Destroyer#Offense
which begins to deploy tie fighters.
The comm on the ship buzzes.
Waylon Stanmore
"We may wish to move around the planet to put it between us and our pursuers while we work on finding a location to go." Waylon says as he tries to remain relaxed in a situation in which he has no control.
Ardan Kwinn
I'll roll for Prox for the moment; they can take over if available!
Prox: Pilot: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
Prox fires up the thrusters and the Banshee practically leaps into motion, surprisingly agile for a ship of its size and profile. Very likely some Imperial gunner is cursing as it moves on his target scope with unexpected agility.
Ardan turns his chair and flips the receiver for the comms, so that they can hear the incoming message.
"Probably more Imperial threats coming in," he quips. "Who wants to get on the gun?"
Waylon Stanmore
Waylon is not trained in shooting any type of gun. So he will leave it for someone else to take the guns.
Ardan Kwinn
So neither I, nor Waylon, nor Dreamchaser is proficient in ship weapons, which means basically eating the -5 non-proficiency penalty for whoever does the guns. Good thing we upgraded the shields!
Ardan Kwinn
It's actually a little challenging to get proficiency with ship's guns. No class starts with Weapon Proficiency (Heavy), and as far as I can tell, only Soldiers are eligible to take it as a bonus feat. So, one of us would have to spend one of our rare open feats to get it.
"All right, I'll get on the gun. I don't know what I'm doing but it's better than not shooting at all. Dream, Prox, get us out of here!"
Ardan Kwinn
I previously turned on the comm, here.
Waylon Stanmore
Prox Computer Use: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Quen Pah
Sorry, we went back to school this past Monday with all of the FUN, EVER SO FUN,PD that goes along with that. We have student orientation today and classes begin tomorrow
Quen Pah
The voice on the other side of the comm, is the voice of the Inquisitor
I have yet to hear your response about surrending to the might of the Empire, crew of the Banshee. Though your actions show that you are choosing to not do so. Therefore, we will disable your ship and take you prisoner or kill you where we find you.

You asked someone to roll for Prox here. You did not specify what kind of roll, and previously established that Use Computer should be used for astrogation, so I rolled that in an attempt to get us a hyperspace route.

Yes, this was meant to plot a course out.
Waylon Stanmore
Can it get us going? I think going on a rough check might be worth the risk since we are way out gunned.
Ardan Kwinn
"I think we're gonna have to dogfight some TIE fighters while we wait for the computers to figure out our hyperspace jump!"
