"This story will be repeated and it will only add to your name King Edryd." At least Xun hopes so, and that it will pay for his stay in this country as well.

Although the king wasn't impressed by Xun's song, the other team members say it was quite good. Some locals who hear it are also impressed, and they invite Xun to sing it in their tavern for 4 silver pieces. Xun promises to come back when his responsibilities to the Society are fulfilled.

Later, when Xun arrives to sing the tale, he will find the tavern packed to the gills. The locals will love the ballad, and a music producer will declare his song to be on a completely different level. He will offer to buy the Artumean rights to the song for 12 silver pieces.

Your Earn Income check was a critical success, this is just me being silly.

Meanwhile, back in the present, Holgarin Smine chews out the Pathfinders as they enter earshot.

"There you are! I've been worried sick about you. I'm hearing rumors that there's going to be some trouble today. What did you find?"

"Magic!" Maldlethu explains happily. "For what else would you call the power to turn the hearts of mortals from strife to cooperation?"

Smine nods politely, assuming that Maldlethu has spoken about some sort of minor cooperation, not about stopping a full-blown revolution and altering the geopolitical landscape of the entire region.

"Anything about the Pathfinder Society?"

when the team shows him the list of Pathfinder agents and the name Pavo Crispin, he seems shocked.

"Pavo Crispin? The Crispins are a prominent family in Artume, look for the matriarch Aula Crispin, she knows more about her family than anyone."

Aula's house is a quite narrow three-story house in the better part of
Artume, though it looks a bit timeworn. Aula Crispin is a gray-haired half-elf woman dressed in a green gown. She’s widowed and lives with
a local housemaid. Her children have already moved to houses of their own.

"May I help you?" she asks when the Pathfinders knock on her door.

Ohh, ok. I was certain that the scene with the king was the end of the story. Ok, let us keep on rollin'

Xun walks down the streets of Artume speaking to himself.

"I need to write another story about a cowardly priest of a false god called Harsus that attempted to assassinate the king. "

"The priest was bested once again, his faith was weak as was his chin..." Wonders the bard.

As they reach the house Xun bows saying

"My name is Xun and with my friends here we are Pathfinders. When we explored an abandoned Pathfinder Lodge we stumbled on the name Pavo Crispin. We hoped that you might be able to tell us a bit about Pavo."

"Perhaps he left behind writings?" Maldlethu adds. "Possibly even magical ones?"

"I have an attic full of old stuff! None are magical, though. There sure is a lot of magic, these days. When I was young ..."

She takes the Pathfinders through meandering stories of her ancestors while they look through journals and sketches. One of the family heirlooms is a journal that details where Napsunar and the rest of the Pathfinders went.

Diplomacy check to convince her to give it to you.

Elariel looks at the journal hungrily. "Oh, my lady, it is so wonderful that you've kept this for so long! If you allow us to take it, we can take the time we need to read through it in detail. This journal could be invaluable to the Pathfinder Society, but more importantly to the history of the region!"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

I'll use another hero point, she had two.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Hopefully that avoids a critical fail, at least.

”Or perhaps allow us to make a copy?”

"Young lady, this journal is already invaluable to me!"

Maldlethu Tamerun wrote:

"Of course, but I will keep the original."

Maldlethu diligently scribes the information while Aula stuffs the rest of the party full of tea and crumpets. Napsunar headed to an area
in western Cheliax that falls now inside the borders of Andoran.

This information is worth 1 Treasure Bundle to the Society, and I believe forms the basis of #1-11, Flames of Rebellion.

---

When the group returns to Smine, he's standing next to two small chests, one with the royal seal of Edryd and another with the rebel's insignia.

"Both sides had war chests they were going to use to hire mercenaries in the upcoming conflict. As the first act of the new Peoples' Council, both warchests are being donated to the Pathfinder Society for our role in securing the new peace."

2 Treasure Bundles!

This is the official end of the scenario. You're welcome to continue roleplaying, if you wish. You're also welcome to ask any questions about the scenario plot if you're confused (or just curious). Otherwise, thanks for playing, and Chronicles will be linked to in the Discussion thread.

Xun looks through Maldlethu shoulder as he transcribes the journal. Such books are perfect to look for inspiration for the next song or tale for that matter.

"Miss Aula, while we wait do you know any stories about Pavo that you could share with us?" asks casually bard.
