GM Roxtar |
Salvatore is unclear what the red potion is, but discerns that the purple one is a potion of Lesser Restoration.
WalMir taking a look realizes the red one is a potion of Cure Light Wounds.
Salvatore Vasili |
This one here is a potion of Lesser Restoration but the other one I would need to look at further when I have more time.
GM Roxtar |
Pressing on
Entering the next section of caves, it looks remarkably like the rest of the underground. Dark and dank. Some rocks have fallen in this area from the ceiling high above, and landed on a large cave viper, pinning and killing it.
you are free to claim the skin or leave it
Moving further down the hallway, you travel for roughly half an hour before coming to a split in the path. To the north, you spot a single sizable 20-foot-tall building in the center of this 30-foot-high cave. It appears to be a bunkerlike structure with no windows and walls made out of worked stone blocks. A 10-foot-long carving of a hammer decorated the building’s facade. The ruins of collapsed outbuildings stand to either side.
To the south, the path continues into darkness.

ah OK so I'm bein told dat is really the symbol of Torag the dwarven diety.
GM Roxtar |
The area around the building looks clear of any immediate dangers.
Approaching the door, it becomes very obvious that it is stuck and will take some effort to open.
WalMir |
[ooc] backing up a bit[/b]
this red one is a potion of cure light wounds, why don't you take it Darius or Griz?
Helping out the injured as we travel, WalMir will continue with the group.
I wonder what the dwarves used this Temple\bunker for?

Salvatore Vasili |
While they are opening the door Salvatore is going to peek around the side of the building and send the dancing lights to see farther across the area.
GM Roxtar |
As the door opens, it reveals a small room. A stone bench lines the southern wall of this chamber. At the far side of the room, a basin of water sits atop a stone pedestal. A stone door engraved with an image of a hammer stands to the north.
Anevia calls out. ”I will need to rest. This leg is starting to act up.” Aravashnial nods.
Horgus grumbles. ”Those two are slowing us up. Perhaps we should split up. No sense in all of us needing to die down here.”
Anevia explodes in anger. ”How could you say such things? I shouldn’t be surprised. You can’t even acknowledge you own faith, so why should I expect you to be moved to compassion by a forgotten temple like this. Being ashamed of your own religion, that’s nearly as bad as worshipping demons!”
Horgus hisses at the injured human. ”Oh, that’s irony for you. Me getting lectured by someone that spends all their time hanging around with thieves. Pitiful.”
Anevia takes a step back as if she had been slapped, but doesn’t press the argument.
Darius Coldwall |
Now now let's all be friends eh? First Horgus your free to go about on ya own aint no one here stoppin ya but also ain't no one here goin wit so decision is yours. Now cher, lets get inside rest that leg and what is it about you and thieves. Don't worry now ol Darius here never judges darius will reach his hand out to Anevia and give her a playful wink

Grizst |
Grizst shakes his head in exasperation at the two humans.
Horgus, we ain't leavin anyone behind. We do that they probably die unless they know how ta navigate down here. And bein dead ain't pretty. Trust me, been there.
and turning to Anevia
And attackin a person's faith ain't the way ta go bout doin things. Faith is a private thing
Grizst looks over at Walmir, realizing his error
Well, for some. Others proudly display it. Nonetheless, you can't read his mind nor attribute motivation to what he does until you've walked his path. So let's stop talkin bout lettin others die

or disparaging something private

Diplomacy to aid Darius/soothe Horgus and Anevia's anger: 1d20 ⇒ 5
GM Roxtar |
Anevia relaxes a bit near Darius and WalMir, who ties up a new splint that seems a bit more secure.
Horgus just stalks around near the entrance to the cavern. "Do whatever you feel you need to do, but the longer we take down here, the longer it'll take to get some actual help for those two."
Pointing sharply at Avenia. "But you should ask that one about the sword. Yeah, I know it's missing. It was in my possession for all of two days before someone lifted it. Ratty old thing, there's only one person that would be interested in getting that one specific item from my warehouse. So if it wasn't you, it was your lady love. Or possibly someone you put up to it. So, don't let her or that fear monger twist your minds."
After Horgus finishes speaking, he steps out into the tunnels.
Aravashnial and Anevia sit silently, seeming a bit shaken by the speech.
WalMir |
what in the seven hells is he talking about? You all know each other? I was walking down the street, headed towards the arena when everything happened. Sorry if I'm a bit lost, but you all need to put your personal relationships aside right now. When we ALL get back to the surface, go on hating reach other. Right not is not the time.
Darius Coldwall |
hey griz. Go chat wit horgus and see if you can find out more bout dat sword. If we can quiet the bickerin we could probably move quicker eh
Grizst |
I'll try, but...I ain't too good at people. Never could...figure em out Grizst's expression is somewhat sad, and with some regret.
Horgus, what' this about a stolen sword? N you think she had somthin ta do with it?
Salvatore Vasili |
Salvatore is going to do a quick walk around the building to get away from all of the bickering for a few minutes.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Darius Coldwall |
hey Anervia and Aravashinal, whats all dis about a sword. Now I ain't trying to stir da pot or accuse or nothin. I just want to figure out what the beef is so we can a git outta here in one piece. Horgus is gone so you can be open and honest. Its just me and Wally here
diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
GM Roxtar |
Horgus chatting with Griz.
"That one, her wife sold me the sword. She was desperate to gather funds, so I took pity and gave her more for it than I should have. Then, my warehouse gets robbed." His face red with anger, he takes a moment to regain his composure. "Look, I'm not unreasonable. If they needed the money, I could have given it directly. It's not uncommon for folks in need to seek me out. But I do not brook anyone breaking the law. If she did indeed steal it, and I will find out, I will be pursuing her to the full extent of the law."
Salvatore wanders around the outside of the structure and sees more stone blocks and cave walls.
Darius talking with Anevia and Aravashnial. Aravash stays quiet, seeming to be considering his words. Anevia speaks up though. "Look, I didn't steal anything from him. I had a job to do, and I did it. He's a smart fellow, and I shouldn't have said what I did. That's really all I can say on this.'
Leaning in closer to Darius. "Look, I have seen proof that he's a good man, I think bein' down here has him rattled. I'd apologize, but I don't think he wants to talk to me right now."
Darius Coldwall |
well how bout when tings cool down you give a nice apology and start movin forward on betta terms. What do you know bout this sword he is upset bout. If we find out what happened he may stop harassing yall
Cannetaken |
Tak watches the little drama unfolding before him.
"Now, now. Bad gas travels fast in a small town. Thats what I always say. Best not to talk outside of school. So if you've got evidence, then provide it Horgus, otherwise all you have is flimsy circumstance.
But, and let me be very clear here Horgus, you've been trying to derail this impromptu expedition, and complaining boisterously from the word 'go'. You need to get that loud mouth of yours under control. I don't care what happened on the surface. Whatever you think happened can sit and wait until we get back to the surface. That is, of course, assuming you can control yourself until we get where we are going. If you aren't, as I have stated, along with the majority of our traveling companions, you can make your own way and complain to the stones and dirt. They will undoubtedly prove more receptive to your incessant whining than I will."
GM Roxtar |
Opening the door, broken stone benches line this narrow room. The air is cold and stale, and thick layers of dust cover the floor, benches, and a large altar at the far end of the room. A squat, hooded figured sits on one of the benches, also covered in said dust, with robes showing signs of years of weathering and rot.
Salvatore Vasili |
After the door is open I will peek inside the door and cast Detect Magic to see if I Detect anything.
GM Roxtar |
Casting Detect Magic, you find the faintest traces of magic, covering the entire room.
Salvatore Vasili |
There is faint magic here but maybe because it was a used Temple. Seems like its just a statue or something because of so much dust, we probably should check it out though. Salvatore will follow behind anyone that enters the room.
Salvatore Vasili |
As long as everything looks clear Salvatore will follow.
GM Roxtar |
The room is quiet. The figure remains still on the bench, facing towards a small altar.
Salvatore Vasili |
Very intrigued, Salvatore will approach the figure on the bench for a closer look.
GM Roxtar |
Stepping around to the front, Salvatore checks out the shape. It appears to be a dwarf, it's eyes are open and locked facing the altar. Years and years of dust have settled into it's beard. On the left hand there is a shiny ring. A chain hangs from it's neck, with the right hand wrapped around it.
Darius Coldwall |
Darius will be in the room but keeping a close eye on everything. He does not want to disrupt anything in a temple
Salvatore Vasili |
Salvatore will take the ring off the finger and try to get a closer look at the necklace.
Grizst |
Grizst looks over at the body of the dwarf.
Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't bodies normally decay?

@grizst the initiative order is a bit freeform. the big push is that some folks act before or after my monsters. how you guys want to work it out is up to you (like if you know someone is going to cast haste on the party, you can just tag that you're delaying until they cast it.) so no worries. i updated my spreadsheet for next time
@tak cool beans, i had actually meant to ask which attunement you had going for the day, so now i know it's good :)
