Hero Point Options:

Reroll (1 HP) - Reroll a d20 roll
Avoid Death (all HP) - When dying, you lose dying and stabilize at 0HP.
Extra Action (2 HPs) - You get an extra action where you can Stride, Strike, Step, Climb, Swim, Leap, or one action needed to High Jump or Long Jump
Fast Heating (1 HP) - Gain Fast healing = to half your level for a number of rounds equal to Con mod (min 1 round). Can't be used while 0 HP, Dying, or Unconscious.

That kinda fits with Scout. Which does not mean going ahead, just means keeping an eye out. Can be anywhere in the group. Allowing a +1 for Init when init is rolled. Alak did this, and everyone got +1 already

Vrolun stays quiet and tried to reason with the creature, before attacking. She waves her hand to her companions signalling them to stand down.

"Home home! My Home! Not stupid. Yoletcha not hiding! Get out of home! Also die!!"

The creature runs out of the strange fort straight at Vrolun. Swinging a large sword down at her.

Mosquito turns back just in time to hear the loud crack of unforgiving sword unwarrantedly introducing itself to the nice gnome lady. The little-big goblin roars at the rude bugbear!

He then moves into a Flank with the Sweet-Armor longshanks.

Mosquito then swings his greatclub at it!

Moving to see the conflict directly, Bertrum sees the smallish Vrolun laying on the ground and roars at the bugbear - tusks bare and spit flying!

Vrolun stands up, being totally caught by surprise by the Bugbear. She hoped to resolve this peacefully but the thought has wandered from her thoughts.

She looks at her wound and back at the bugbear. Despite the harrowing pain, she focuses herself and unleashes a flurry of blows.

Mosquito moves into position around the strange fort. Both Bertrum and his glare seem to freak out the Bugbear a little.

Bertrum's spear misses and clatters to the ground. Vrolun's punches flash out, one hitting quite hard.

Looking around, "My home! My Home! My Home! The bug bear lashes out a bit mad.

Seeing the halfling drop the bug bear turns to Mosquito striking down twice more.

Alak sees the halfing fall. And swings down at the bugbear multiple times.

Damage: 2d12 + 4 ⇒ (12, 3) + 4 = 19 double for crit: 38

With one very powerful swing of a greatsword Alak slices down the Bugbear.

Can anyone do anything to help her out? She doesn't look good! And he takes a step back to make space.

Vrolun is dying 1, but I think Beryl has a heal coming. If no one does anything Vrolun will need to do a flat d20 check DC 11 to stabilize

Mosquito watches with rapt attention as the Cool-Armored Longshanks splits the rude bugbear in half. He looks at the welt forming on his face. He smiles.

Mosquito looks down--his eye swollen a bit--at the nice gnome lady laying on the ground. The little-big goblin begins to cry!

Beryl looks shocked when Vrolun gets taken down just as Beryl is about to feed her another elixir, but Alak sees to the Bugbear and Bertrum heals her immediately, so she breathes a sigh of relief.

Before Vrolun stands up though, she says. "Oh no. You're injured. Sit down and let me see to that" She opens her alchemy kit and starts pouring liquids onto her wounds, sealing it with superglue etc...

After Beryl's ministrations Vrolun feels much better, and Beryl concedes that they can resume their explorations.

Mosquito--swollen eye bigger than his face--walks up to the nice dwarf lady, as she treats the nice gnome lady's wounds. The puffy faced goblin stands there smiling; although his lips are a bit bruised, ballooned, and bloodied. Staggering a bit uneasy-like, knees knocking some and breathing sounding as if, perhaps, a lung may not be functioning properly, Mosquito pats the nice gnome lady on the shoulder.
Yous bees better soon. Dis nice dwarf lady bees da bestest...cough...cough...healers evers!

It takes Vrolun a minute to come to her senses. The bugbear was merciless and Vrolun already had some visions of a next life. However, suddenly she was back amongst her companions and they were busily doing all sorts of things around her. When she regained her senses, she looked around her and thanked all of her companions.

"Thanks everyone. Wow, I really didn't expect that to happen."

She giggles and laughs at Mosquito's quirky behaviour.

As she stands up, she takes a gander around the room.

Vrolun slowly enters the eastern bedchamber and takes the fang talisman. She studies it closely and returns to the group.

"Look at this, this was hanging in the eastern bedchamber. Does it look like something goblins or bugbears would carry?"


Bertrum spends some time working on healing Mosquito, but is not quite able to heal the wounds on the squirming goblin.

You all can spend more time and attempt to heal again. Mosquito is immune to Treat Deadly Wounds for an hour, but it can be done again.

Bertrum found a healing potion and Vrolun found the small taliman.

While Bertrum holds the large blade everyone realizes they have explored the entire south portion of the keep. There are a few more areas to the north that are left unexplored. You are also aware of the cave to the west that goes deeper down.

Putting the bastard sword away with the silver longsword, Bertrum picks up his spear and continues until he sees the talisman Vrolun found.

He then holds up the healing potion and smiles.

"Wanna trade? That looks pretty neat...and you might need this more than me?"

I'm assuming I can secure both the silver blade and the B.Sword to my backpack somehow. Am I stupid to think that's possible?

How about waiting an hour, having another go at treat wounds, and if that fails again treat Mosquito with potions and elixirs before checking out the northern part of the fortress?

"That sounds like a great idea Bertrum." She smiles and hands over the talisman to Bertrum. Still kind of shocked by the attack earlier, Vrolun is all too eager to get hold of a potion.

She then looks to Beryl and agrees. Vrolun looks through the room and finds some sheets to use as a picnic blanket. She waves it in the air and slowly settles it on the floor.

"I'm afraid I only have some rations. But it'll have to do.", she giggles.

"These cuts look deep, let me try a few alchemical remedies. I have a glue I've been working on for cuts"

She sighs as he's already off bouncing around before she's even finished telling him to take it easy.

"Shall we explore the northern area next?"

Mosquito barely squirms as the super nice dwarf lady sticks some gooey stuff on his bloodied face. He smiles, chews and talks the entire time.

He grins.

When the nicest of dwarf ladys fixed his broken face, the little-big goblin gives her a hug.

Mosquito then begins juggling bits of food around the room....


Yeah I don't see any issue putting the sword on your back

As the group rests for a bit enjoying some rations and talking about their plans.

Beryl works great on Mosquito, who had a moment to calm down and wiggle less.

With the group mostly healed up, bonded a bit more, they can head out.

Where will they go? Up north near the warg pups, and the undiscovered rooms there? Or attempting to go into the cave in the hills outside to the west. Which supposedly lead down under the building.

Beryl goes to the door before the room with the warg pups and opens it after carefully looking it over

Vrolun carefully joins the group, however wary of entering first.. She sneakily peeks inside the room, from behind Beryl.


As Beryl creeps into the new room. Once plush crimson curtains hang in tatters on the walls, and scuffs reveal places wher eportraits once hung. Trash and rotted food lie in heaps on the floor like tiny moldering corpses. 2 more doors are in this room. one leading close to the warg pups and one further in.

Bertrum moves to the next door, nodding at Beryl.

"My turn. Let me go first."

Knowing the door the pups are behind, Bertrum moves to the other door that must lead into the unknown.

Mosquito bounces from foot to foot. He stretches his arms up to the ceiling. He scratches his legs. He yawns.
Should mees bees opening more ov des doors?

He grins.


As Bertrum opens the next door, it turns out to be a short hallway. This leads into a room he explored in his lizard exploring. Not having any clear threat discovered before, he opens up the next door.

Opening this door leads to a mound of dirt or mudd, but from this angle you see its actually a body! With the wall to the west broken down, someone must have come in long ago. It is very decomposed.

A brief look the body discoverers 2 minor healing potions on the humanoid's belt.

There is another door to the north west.

Bertrum then moves to the north-west door and checks it before opening it.

Vrolun frowns a little after seeing the dead body. She tries to inspect the body a little closer to see if she can discover anything else that might lead to additional dangers.

She swiftly follows Bertrums with her little feet, not wanting to be left behind.


The door seems fine, no issues can be found by Bertrum

Vrolun looks over the body. It seems as if it has been nawed almost to the bone by tiny teeth. Though there does not seem to be any evidence of recent life here in this room.

As Bertrum opens the door he can see rows of desks. They seem to be bolted to the floor, though many of the cramped work spaces have been smashed to pieces or otherwise defaced. Wooden chairs have been thrown aside like discarded playthings.

The rafters of this room seem rather high and dusty. There are 2 doors leading out of this room. To the north and to the east.

What is everyone doing entering the room?

As the group enters the room. A few start to look around. But before anyone has a chance to spot anything of interest there is a large flapping from above.

A huge bat descends into the room! Attacking.

Roll20 updated. Everyone is spread out looking around, and Berturm is by back door scouting. Bertrum's scout gave everyone a +1 to init. Bat and Mosquito used Stealth. Let me know if placement didn't fit what you thought. Also note, Bat is 20 feet up, just letting go from rafters.

Turning quickly, Bertrum throws his ever-ready spear at the flying bat!

Melee Attack(spear) Range 20ft.: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage(Piercing): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Actions: Throw spear, trying to identify the bat with the Nature skill, then using Raise Shield as my final action.

Nature(Bat?): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21


The spear hits the Bat and cuts deep.

Bertrum remembers bats like this tend to react to close combat attacks with a flurry of wings. So attacking up close can be dangerous.

As the sounds of flapping greet his big ears, the goblin looks up and he begins jumping around excitedly.
Ooo, looks its bees un flying chickens! Mees knows un guud recipes fer chicken wings!

The goblin waves his greatclub around excitedly.
Comes here wittles chickens! Here, here chickens!

Intimidattion to demoralize the chicken: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

The goblin then spits on his hands; readying his greatclub to swing at the chicken!

Mosquito's glare seems to startle the bat. As it chirps and clicks, its echolocation bounces off a terrifying little Goblin.

As the Bat lowers itself into the room, Mosquito's attack swings out, but misses the surprisingly large creature. Even with Frightened 2

The bat turns to Mosquito and Bites down on him.
Fangs vs Mosquiot: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 10 - 2 = 9

Slightly scared of the goblin it turns to the side and tries to stab its wing into Beryl.
