Boost my spell DC

Advice

Scarab Sages

Things I know of

Spell Focus
Greater Spell Focus
Elemental Focus
Greater Elemental Focus
Diviner's Delvings (i think.... can't remember)
General applicable stat increase

How else might I boost the DC on my spells?

Elves and Gnomes each have alternate racial traits in the APG which provide DC modifiers.

Hiya.

Convince the DM to add Caster Level to the base DC. That's what I do. :)

- Heighten Spell (there will be folks telling you to just caste a higher lvl spell, blah blah blah)
- Increase INT at lvl 4,8,12,16, etc...
- Headband of Intellect

Another way to increase your spell DC is to DECREASE the enemies' saves. There are a multitude of ways to achieve this.

Including:

-Sickened (condition)
-Intimidated/Shaken (condition)
-Flat Footed
-Negative levels
-Mind Fog (spell)

Do a bit of searching. I've found that, especially in a group of casters, reducing enemy saves is a stronger option than simply boosting your own. Full BAB classes can apply status effects with relative ease past level 10 with the critical feats. Work as a team!

Heighten Spell is what I do.

Ench School Focus and Heighten Spell -- Charm and Suggestion don't suck anymore.

Oh, yeah! One buddy with Dazzling Display is a great boon to all the casters in a party. You can almost build a team around that, with a Rogue doing it as a secondary until s/he gets Shatter Defenses to totally murder any enemy you face. It is a really good tactic for a team to have in it's arsenal.

There are also some Domain abilities that can apply penalties to enemies saves, and Witch's Hex is a method for this as well, I believe.

This is why I really love the witch. You can shoot off Evil Eyes all day, and even when the enemy makes their save they have to deal with it for a round.

How exactly does being flat-footed reduce saving throws? You lose you Dex to AC, not to Reflex saves.

Huh. I guess that's just a house rule we always ran with. It never made any sense that a character was able to make a reflex save at no penalty while being completely unaware.

You're not unaware when you're flatfooted, you're (somewhat) unprepared.

That said, you can make reflex saves when unaware too, IIRC.

Rage Prophet adds CON modifier to Spell DCs (on top of CHA), though you'll be a Spell Level behind at best.

Which would be insanely broken if combined with 3PP Ryan Costello's "Serene Barbarian" in "Strategists and Tacticians" which instead of a STR and CON bonus while Raging, provides a WIS and CON bonus while "Serening" (all Rage Powers otherwise work as normal).

Eastern Mysteries trait works for me, its a +2 d/c once a day, comes in handy.

A question :

Sò a Fighter with Dazzling Display and Improved Intimidation (at 1° level with charisma 12 it reaches +8) is very very good right?

-2 TS for 1\2 round in 9 meters :)

Half Orc inquisitor is the king of intimidate checks.

Bloat Mage Initiate adds +1DC to spells from whichever school you have Spell Focus in (a pre req. feat).

...of course, it also reduces your land speed by 10ft....

..but hey, big is beautiful, right? :D

*shakes fist*

How else might I boost the DC on my spells?

11 levels in arcane bloodline sorcerer and arcane heritage robes (or a full 15 levels in arcane bloodline sorcerer). A couple of traits give a +1 bonus to specific types of spells (charming for example).

Alchemical item spell components from the adventurer's armory.

Um... no, no and no. Bloat mage initiate is +1 to caster level not DC. Also it makes you medium encumberance which means all speeds are reduced and you have a maximum Dex bonus to AC of +3 and take a penalty on all Strength and Dexterity skills.

A bit more than just -10 from your land speed.

So if you are mythic you can get your saves truly ridiculous for one spell if you take spell focus greater spell focus elemental focus and greater elemental focus then the mythic versions of both and spell perfection that gives you a +16 to the save

Arcanist with potent magic can add +2 to their DCs.

Persistent meta-magic increases DC by nearly 5.

I have found the best way to make a spell stick is knowing the weakest save. This can be the biggest single advantage.
