Gregor Kardoff |
Gregor grins at the Cannibal...You arent going to kill...ANYONE. All you can do now is die. your choices are painfully? or not painfully? If you dont want hurt....tell us about your tribe.
Davor Krill |
Davor drags the dead one back.... then realizes what s going on. "Uh.... Sorry!" Then drags him off behind a tree.
GM Kulko |
"What want know? We big tribe and will kill youu all." The Cannibal is initimitated and will answer a few questions.
Sorry missed, the reply because ofg the pagebreak or I would have answered earlier.
GM Kulko |
"Klopak more strong as you. Malikadna blesshim stronger. Chief catch you and eat heart! very tasty heart."
Gregor Kardoff |
Gregor says Whose Klopak? . Your Chief is Malikadna blesshim? I say no. It is I who will eat your heart first this very day. Then soon I will eat the chiefs heart. For I am stronger than him. You saw me fight. My Body is strong. My axes are sharp. And I have friends who are able. We will find your tribe and feed them to the sharks. But first. You...will feel pain as I cut your body and let the ants eat you ro a while before I kill you. What hall I cut off first? A Toe? A finger? He pulls up a toe and holds where he can look at it...then moves around and holds a finger...
Shalissa |
"Klopak? Malikadna?" held back by Kerndrew, Shalissa breaths relieved as she can hear Gregor and the cannibal speaking rather than further spilling blood.
She remains alert, hoping things do not go south.

The cannibal looks defiantly but very fearful at Gregor.
"Chief is Klopak the Red. Klopak dont fear you. will eat you."
Blesshim was a typo, should have meant bless him, but the cannibal was speaking to hurried.
Also I am not exactly sure, what you believe the cannibal should tell you. he is already afraid enough to answer a few question, but you are mostly just intimitating him further.
Davor Krill |
Once the body is out of sight Davor returns. Gregor seems to have the intimidation going well so he listens. Once the details are a little clear Davor moves up behind Gregor, "So Chief Klopak the Red is blessed by Malikadna. Must be some kind of witch doctor. So, when our eighty soldiers get here from our ship, will we lead them in to destroy all of your chief's soldiers? Or will we have already killed them and have the chief's head on a spear outside of your village? How many soldiers does your chief have? And don't count your witch doctor as a soldier. I can sense her from here and she's weak!" He mentally directs his familiar to climb up his chest and up the side of his face to sit on top of his head.
"Gregor, since he keeps wanting to talk about eating, and he is a, he.... perhaps you could feed him HIS parts? What self respecting shark would want to eat that?"
GM Kulko |
"80 Men? We are only 20 but each of us can kill many of you. Ad no ship can land on the Shiv. Its cursed and will sink it like any other ship."

Shalissa stands back with Kerndrew while trying to overhear the conversation "A course? What does he mean by a curse in the island?"
Davor Krill |

Davor moves closer and puts his dagger point against the belly of the cannibal. "Stop struggling or you'll gut yourself! Do you really want to do our work for us?"
"What do you know of this curse? Our captain mentioned it, saying that he had to anchor offshore and we had to row in. That's why our army isn't here yet. They're gathering on the beach. We're just a scout party. Give us a good answer and maybe you can live to eat your chief's heart, after we kill him! Or would you rather eat the heart of your Malikadna instead?"
GM Kulko |
"You no see ships? All wrecked! Like your ship will be." The man looks pretty confident.
Lets move on! One more question if you want.
Davor Krill |
I can't think of any more questions that he might answer. If Gregor or Shalissa give the nod Davor drives his dagger into the man.... CDG?
Davor Krill |
Though it saddens him to have to do it, at least he can take this task from his friends. On the nod from Gregor he drives his dagger quickly into the man's heart, hopefully ending his life quickly and with as little pain as he can.
Once dead he eases the man to the ground. "Without knowing their customs I'm not sure how to deal with their bodies. I won't eat it! I'll move him over by his companion."
Unless someone objects Davor moves the second body over by the first. He doesn't see any need to bury it.
Shalissa |
Looking from afar, Shalissa gasps when she spots Davor finishing the life of the cannibal.
The elven woman looks worried at Kerndrew, then back serious at her companions, but does not move to reprehend them.
Once they come back, she comments "I see you decided to kill him" and looks saddened at Davor's dagger "What did you find out?"
Gregor Kardoff |
Im sorry Shalissa. There could be no alternative to this. He would not have joined us and he would always be looking for a way to betray us. We didnt torture him though. at least theres that.
Father Kerndrew |
Returning with Shalissa, Father Kerndrew tries to ease the elf's mind. "The cannibals are an evil blight on this island. I'm not just saying that as something to say; Iomedae grants me an ability to see into a beings core. When I say they are evil, I mean that Iomedae has shown me the taint in their souls." He turns to Gregor and Davor. "You did well; whether you were able to get any useful information, you did it without unnecessary cruelty. I thank you for that, and for the clean death you gave him. That was just."
Shalissa |
Shalissa listens quietly to her companions explanations "I tend to thing there is a place in this world for everyone, despite some behaviours might seem not right at our eyes"
"But if we are to survive this place we need to trust each other and I will do just that" although clearly saddened, the elf changes her attention to Pezcock "Can we continue our trip today or shall we look for a place to camp?"
GM Kulko |
In a rather quiet mood the party follows Pezcock further along a nearby river. After almost 4 hours Pezcock leds you back into the jungle. "Its not much further along.".

"But he said there are about twenty warriors in the village, plus his chief which he says is a mighty warrior, and he named another as someone that "blessed" the chief. It could be a very dangerous place."

wasnt Gregor in a flank with Davor?
Per Davor's post, Davor didn't have a weapon out until he drew his dagger on his turn; no threat = no flank
But since Gregor was in position at the time of Davor's attack, wouldn't Davor get to add sneak attack damage?
When Shalissa goes limp in the beast's arms, Father Kerndrew renews his efforts, striking hard with his next blow.

Yep he does. But it also doesn't matter anymore.
This time the Iomedean pulls no longer back and cleaves the dragin on the left side dropping the beast to the ground.

Davor finds you a nice glade and you prepare your camp for the night.
Later after nightfall you notice a faint glow off in the southwest. Might this be were the canibals are camping near the lighthouse? Updated location on map
Shalissa |
During the night Shalissa moves up to some stones to think. There she spots the glow of the possible lighthouse and heads back to point it out excitedly to the others "I think I spot the lighthouse! There up"
"If someone bothered to build such a structure as a lighthouse, they will not leave it just there without attention for long, would day?" the elf looks hopeful at the others "Someone must come to make sure it works at some point isn't it?"
Is the glow the lighthouse working or the light of other people camping around?
GM Kulko |
Glow from campfires in the area. The Lighthouse itself is not working.
Shalissa |
"Perhaps it is just for the better the camp is far away. If we fail, the cannibals will take some time to discover our friends" Shalissa looks deceived at the turned off lighthouse "Let's have a rest. We need to talk with Aycenia tomorrow and see if she can helps us find out a way to deal with the cannibals without taking too much of a risk"

You spent another night in the jungle surrounded by constant noises but your well armed group seems to be deterent enough for any predators.
On the next day you climb ob a large hill on the nothern side of the stream, reaching the top in the late morning.
A single, immense banyan tree grows atop this hill, surrounded by a smaller grove of trees that seem almost like supplicants gathered around a revered elder to bask in the wisdom of the ages.
As you approach a young woman seems to be stepping up frm Behind(?) the tree and approaches you smiling a showing her open hands in a friendly manner.
Put a Picture into the map slides
Shalissa |
"An ancient tree... dryads are known to be related to particular trees" Shalissa comments while arching her thin eyebrows up "Thanks for leading us here Pezock"
"Aycenia?" the elven addresses the woman surprised when she steps out of the tree "Apologies for entering your territory. We are shipwreck survivors... we are trying to find a way back to our home"
"We need to know more about the island and its inhabitants if we are to survive, can you help us?"
Davor Krill |
Davor stays behind Shalissa, curious about the tree lady but not wanting to lead the discussion. He does add.... "And can we help you with anything?"
Gregor Kardoff |
Gregor stayed at the edge of the forest as Shalissa approached. He didnt want to frighten the Wood Spirit with too many people. And in case she proved to be hostil. he kept his bow out though not at the ready.
Father Kerndrew |
"Indeed," Father Kerndrew adds. "Your help--if you're willing--would mean the world to us. We are presently looking to deal with a band of cannibals on the island. Do you know of them; have they caused trouble for you?"

Aycenia looks interested at the people having come to her doorstep. "So you are the newest victims of the Shivs sharp teeth. You seem to have done well so far, if you made it to this place without the cannibals or animals killing you."
Waiting for an answer in the discussion before I decide what she tells you know.
Shalissa |
"Seems so" Shalissa smiles to the driad "You should be pretty strong as well if you have survived those cannibals. We found a couple just yesterday and they were very... dangerous"
"Do ships come and go to the island from time to time? We have seen there is a lighthouse" the elven woman waits for the answers before pressing Aycenia with more questions "What is all this about a curse making ships crash around?"
