Jaware Sahat Alttajir
|
Jaware doesn't hesitate to once more call upon his god, Pharasma. "Lady of Graves, aid my allies and see that this creature leaves this world and finds peace at last!"
Heal (3-action), Basic Fort DC 17: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Everyone heals for another 2hp, and hopefully this thing has a weakness to positive energy.
Suza
|
Suza keeps the music going!
Lingering Composition check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Woo hoo! The inspiration will continue for three rounds!
Suza then tries to trip the mummy once again with her whip.
Athletics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
She then Steps out of reach of the mummy.
Grommfell the Precipitous

"Should of stayed in your grave." declares Grommfell as he swings his greatpick at the mummy repeatedly.

Alonzo Tamarisk

Alonzo, somewhat embarrassed by his last spell, tries to make amends this time around.

fire: 1d4 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 = 9 doubled for 18 fire

Windkey Tuulen
|
Tuulen moves laterally to the enemy, looking for a clear line to attack, before closing his eyes. He envisions the pounding, relentless waves, crashing against cliffs far to the north. When he opens his eyes again, all the power of that vision is channeled into a stream of water that he channels right at the creature. 1. Stride, 2. & 3. Cast hydraulic push.
Spell attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 Pushed back and takes damage on a hit or crit.

Additional crit damage, if needed: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3) = 9 This spells specifies 3d6 on a hit, 6d6 on a crit, rather than doubling.

Jaware Sahat Alttajir
|
Given that the contributions of "Durvin" was to faint, Jaware volunteers to do a cursory look at the man's wounds before turning his attention to those who are actually injured. "Please Samar, hold still for a moment. Allow me to bandage those wounds."
To the others he says, "Please, watch out for danger but do not stray far. If the dead have risen there might be a curse to this place. I would rather we all face it together."
Medicine (Treat Wounds): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
That's not acceptable. Have my Hero Point.
Medicine (Treat Wounds): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12
Bloody hell. FINE, dice roller. You win.
After about ten minutes the Osirian sighs. "Most troubling." He grabs the holy symbol that hands around his neck and prays. "Mother of Souls, grant me this boon. Show me your wisdom, and tell me: is it time for the judgement of Samar Ashaad?"
In response, a white glow surrounds the woman, closing her wounds.
Heal (2-Action): 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Throws his dice away. Still, I think that means Samar is at 18/20.
Alonzo Tamarisk

Satisfied that Jaware has tended to the wounded, and not trusting "Durvin," Alonzo moves over to him and watches warily as he gets to his feet.
Thanks for your help there, the dwarf says, his arms folded as he glares at the man. Never could've handled that without your valuable contributions of fainting at the sight of your own blood.
Alonzo does have a heal spell too, if needed.

Though he seems about fully recovered now, the remains of a faint bruise on his head showed that he suffered much the same fate as Grommfell did too, a crushing blow that nearly killed him. Sorry if I wasn't clear, but he was actually hit.
"Those things! You -- you saved me! Thank goodness you were here!" he exclaims.
Grommfell the Precipitous
|
"Grommfell," replies the dwarf somewhat confused, still recovering from the earlier blow, before realizing that the human woman is speaking to the human man.
Jaware Sahat Alttajir
|
Ah, I missed that. Hopefully the 2 Heal spells have him in good shape.
| motteditor RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16, RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16 |
"I guess I owe you some answers," he says, sighing deeply. "I'm not really Durvin Kline. I'm not even a Pathfinder. My name's Nefaram Subeli, and I'm a clerk in Osirion’s permit office. With the bureaucracy the way it is, I thought I could get here before you lot (and I was right!), and look through here to get some choice treasures. I was all set to go to an island off the coast of Jalmeray and never have to work again!"
Samar Ashaad
|
"Thanks, pal," Samar says to Jaware as her wounds heal.
Samar gives Nefaram a scowl. "Wow, glad to see this retirement's going so well for you. You stick with us from here on out so you don't get killed, yeah?"
Grommfell the Precipitous
|
"Been digging a hole in more ways than one " Grommfell conveys to the former clerk. He then turns to his fellow Pathfinders, "Let's finish exploring this one."

You're able to finish exploring the temple with no more traps or monsters nearly proving your death.
The next room appears to have been an elaborate shrine. The centerpiece is a 10-foot-tall statue of a lean Osirian man with a canine head, holding a brazier of lit coals.
The statues appears to be Set, an Osiriani god of darkness, deserts, and murder.
In the final room, you find the two statues depict a pair of robed skeletons each of which is pointing at the other.
You realize the skeleton’s arms can be rotated in their sockets.
Nefaram warns you that lowering and then raising the skeleton’s arms reactivates the trap that dropped the stone when you first entered, preventing you from making that potentially fatal decision.
Survey complete, you're able to head back out to the desert, where you find the guard, Elrekah, relaxing in the shade.
Grommfell the Precipitous
|
Grommfell glances at the statue in the shrine. "Dog head? I don't get it." He just shakes his head and moves on.
When he comes across the next pair of statutes, he glances at each. "Skeletons make more sense, I suppose."
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
"Hmmm, neat trick." he says as he goes to rotate the arms of the undead statues. When Nefaram warns him that lowering and then raising the skeleton’s arms reactivates the trap that dropped the stone when the party first entered, Grommfell thinks the better of it and is prevented from making a potentially fatal decision.
Alonzo Tamarisk
|
Religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 Heh.
Me neither. Ugly thing to make a statue of, too.
Back outside, Alonzo and the group reveal what they found inside. He doesn't mention Nefaram's deception, instead intimating that they'll return to the Venture-Captain with their wayward "fellow Pathfinder."
Suza
|
Religion: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
"Ah, this is Set! The Osiriani god of darkness, deserts, and murder. And look how the arms move!"
Jaware Sahat Alttajir
|
Religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
"Yes, that is most definitely Set. He is a... complex deity. But then again, what god is not?"

The trip back is uneventful, with the ever-so-slightly repentant Nefaram with you. Your reception from Venture-Captain Norden Balentiir, however, is warm.
"Well done, Pathfinders, well done. But who's this?"
His expressions darkens as you explain, the full weight of his gaze falling on the imposter.
"Very well, then. I'll deal with him from here. Thank you for preventing his thefts and returning him here. We'll see what the Osiriani authorities have to say about this. In the meantime, I appreciate your work for the Pathfinders. Hopefully we can work together again soon."
He hands each of you a small bag that jingles appealingly, and then sends you on your way.
