Oh, how I loathe skeletons. Uora will mutter to himself.
Knowledge (Religion) Untrained: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Don't get close to them! These aren't any normal skeletons. Their flames may hurt.
Uora will stab his spear deep into the skeleton.
Move and stab at reach.
Elven Branched Spear Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Elven Branched Spear Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

The burning skeletons clatter forward to return the favour, with one attacking The Magi and the other attacking Uoralveren. Uoralveren easily dodges the skeleton's clumsy attacks, but The Magi gets impaled with a burning broken scimitar and collapses to the ground!
Black does a 5' step and a full attack on Uoralveren. Yellow does a charge attack on The Magi. Both attacks missed Uoralveren, but The Magi suffers a crit.
The Magi, you take 10 points of normal damage and 5 points of fire damage.
Scimitar vs Uoralveren: 1d20 ⇒ 6

Andrelis Lethian
|
Um Gareleth, any ideas? Any witticism about Ustalav for us? Andrelis asks grimly, trying not to panic. Uncertain of what to do against skeletons, Andrelis will wait for his companions to act and see how he can help.
Jomal
|
Jomal approaches with a step and flurries the skeleton near to him.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 5 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 1 = 11 PA
Damage 1: 1d10 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 3 = 17

Damage 2: 1d10 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 3 = 20
5-foot-step, flurry with sansetsukon
Manik "Tuck" O'Leary
|
Tuck's smile fades a little at the sight of these things.
Pulling a potion from his bag he moves up to The Magi's fallen form
Accrobatics to avoid AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
He does his best to dodge past the black skeleton as he gets ready to heal his stricken companion.
Gareleth Jarvinx
|
"Kill them from back here, Andy!" Gareleth chimes in cheerily, happy that his best friend is consulting him for insights and completely missing that Andrelis in actually feeling concern and on the verge of panic.
And with that, Gareleth moves forward to just behind Jomal and pokes out around the big lizard's shoulder and unleashes a ray of frost at the skeleton that just dropped The Magi.
Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d3 ⇒ 3
Andrelis Lethian
|
Nodding at Gareleth's advice, Andrelis drops his rapier and unlimbers his shortbow, Good thought Gareleth, lets see how bad this goes!
Laughing, Andrelis snaps off an arrow at the same target as Gareleth.
Shortbow Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Jomal’s sansetsukon crushes the ribcage of his foe, but then the skeleton literally explodes, sending flaming bones everywhere! As Tuck rushes in to help his fallen ally, Gareleth and Andrelis attack from a distance but neither can connect.
Jomal and Uoralveren, you are hit by the flaming debris and take 2 points of fire damage (DC 11 Reflex for half).
Tuck, I’ve moved you into the closest legal square to the burning skeleton. You don’t provoke an AoO getting there.
Gareleth and Andrelis, your attacks missed. Andrelis, I’ve moved you to where you would have had line of sight at the last skeleton.

*The Magi, on your turn you need to roll a Constitution check vs DC 16 to stabilize. Otherwise, you lose another hit point.
Everyone, please keep your taglines updated--it's crucial for me to tell whether you're still standing or not.
Uoralveren
|
Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Uora will manage to dodge some of the exploding debris but still gets some in his eyes. There's another skeleton nearby. He'll step close and stab his spear at it.
Elven Branched Spear Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Elven Branched Spear Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Jomal
|
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Jomal takes some debris from the burning skeleton, and manages to escape what he can. Yet, he looks at the other one with a menacing face.
Gareleth Jarvinx
|
The skeleton is bound to be taken down quickly by his friends, but Gareleth is not sure how much longer The Magi can keep Pharasma at bay, therefore, he calls behind him, "Cover me, Andy!" and goes tumbling through trying to avoid being attacked by the skeleton so he can get to his fallen comrade.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
And getting close enough, he pops his wand of infernal healing out of his wrist sheath swift action and pokes his ally saying, "Hang in there, buddy. It's not time to go to the Boneyard yet."
Infernal healing->1 point of healing per round for 10 rounds and you're stabilized.
| GM Jhaeman |
Not so fast, Gareleth :) The spell infernal healing has a casting time of 1 round (even in wand form), so you've now started casting it (as a standard action) and will complete it with a second standard action on your next turn. The Acrobatics check to avoid an AoO was good though, and I've moved you to the nearest unoccupied square (which is actually The Magi's, but he's helpless so you can legally stand there.
Andrelis Lethian
|
Andrelis will again attempt to fire an arrow into the burning skeleton, hopefully not hitting his companions in the mix.

Good catch! I play a lot of clerics, so I'm used to it being a cure light wand, which is a standard. I'd forgotten infernal healing takes longer to cast.
Manik "Tuck" O'Leary
|
Keeping the potion in hand for now Tuck sighs "This is probably going to hurt."
Stepping to the side to get into position opposite Uora the big man unleashes a powerful uppercut into the skeleton's exposed ribs.
Unarmed strike: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 = 25
Crit confirmation: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 18
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 13
| GM Jhaeman |
Tuck's incredible uppercut destroys the skeleton, but then it bursts into explosive, flaming shards of bone!
Tuck, Jomal, The Magi, Uoralveren, and Gareleth, please roll a DC 11 Reflex save. If you fail the save, you take 6 points of damage. If you make the save, you take 3 points of damage.
The Magi, you need to attempt this save as well--but because you're helpless, your Dexterity modifier is treated as -5. I think if you fail the save, you're dead--sorry :(
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Folks, I'm away for 24 hours. See you soon!
Uoralveren
|
Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
As the skeleton explodes, the elf nimbly dodges out of the way.
Have a good weekend.
Gareleth Jarvinx
|
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Gareleth manages to avoid the explosion, at least somewhat, and manages to keep the wand on the Magi to complete casting the spell.
Fingers crossed The Magi makes his save!
Gareleth Jarvinx
|
Whats your HP at now The Magi? Does anyone have a way to heal him?
Gareleth is already healing him.
Assuming we're out of combat, Gareleth gives a poke from his wand of infernal healing to himself looks up saying, "Anyone else need some healing?"
And after a minute, The Magi will be at 1 HP and Gareleth will poke him again.
The Magi
|
Eyes opening wide in surprise, the vigilante is momentarily confused. That magic coursing through me should feel tainted, but the mask finds it exhilarating! By the gods, this could become addictive. The Magi rises and dusts himself off. He pats the magus on the shoulder, "You have my thanks and gratitude. Now, if you can tell me more about where you picked up that wand..."
Andrelis Lethian
|
Moving into the room to aid the Magi in standing, Andrelis speaks, That was very close and very dangerous. We should really try to be more careful moving forward. I wonder what those things were, and what they may have been guarding. Glad everyone is okay now though.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Gareleth Jarvinx
|
Gareleth beams in pride as The Magi asks about the wand and begins, "Well, Andy and I were in Cheliax, some nasty business with a cult trying to summon a demon, and I managed to find this obscure magic shop where some rare and unique treasures like this could be found," then he adds, as if thinking deeply, "I'm gonna say that was maybe a year, year and a half ago? So there are likely some enchanters the Society would know of who would be able to create such enchantments now that I've brought this great magical secret to light."
Seeing Andrelis heading off to search for treasure and goodies, Gareleth calls out, "Let me help you search, Andy."
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
| GM Jhaeman |
A search of the room shows that the altars still contain their silver altar services as well as two silver disks that are half-black and half-white. Two papyrus scrolls are also here, one on each altar.
That successful Reflex save while helpless was gold!
Gareleth Jarvinx
|
"Oh look, scrolls!" Gareleth says happily as he and Andrelis search the room.
Casts read magic
Reading through the one on the black altar, he says, "Hmm, looks like we have a scroll of shatter. Pretty nifty spell, that." He then moves across the room to the white altar where he looks at the other scroll and says,"And this one is shield other. I don't believe any of us can actually cast these since they're divine spells, but they'll be worth some gold anyway."
Assuming I'm correct and no one can use them, Gareleth will just stick them in his bag.

Shatter is on my spell list, but its second level, so no guarantee I can get it off.

Nethys, eh? The God of Magic, right? The writing on the walls must be from his holy books.
The skald looks around the room and thinks out loud. Shouldn't there be more here? It feels like we've only explored half this floor.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
When Tuck offers water, Uoralveren eagerly drinks it up. Thank you. Upstairs is fine with me.
Manik "Tuck" O'Leary
|
Barring warnings of danger from his allies Tuck will lead the way up the stairs.
| GM Jhaeman |
As no one finds anything hidden, the party ascends upwards with Tuck in the lead. A quick search of the door reveals no traps. But once it's open, a terrible stench wafts through the doorway! Crude bunks line the walls of this room and three troglodyte guards are resting here. They instantly shout words of alarm!
This is the new Slide # 2. The troglodytes are currently prone.
