Thanks. It makes sense (the interpretation on maneuvers) although to be honest that's how I thought kinetic fist would work anyway (for maneuvers that do damage, like maintaining the grapple for damage and what not). I just don't think the damage would apply on maneuvers that don't do any damage normally without proper feats/class features.

Sounds about right.

Grand Lodge

I'll have to drop out. Work layoffs and family concerns have me more and more busy. Good Gaming all.

That’s rough. Wish you the best

For anybody just dropping into the thread, we need an air kineticist to get this show going. If any of the three of you have a friend whose arm is twistable, feel free.

I'll consider an air kineticist over the Easter weekend

Silver Crusade

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15

I am interested in playing an air kineticist

Silver Crusade

First pass at character sheet: (built using Pathbuilder)
Oryn Goldenstalk

Character Background in progress. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Background so far:
1. Raised on farm growing grains (wheat, corn, etc). Flat/open landscape.
2. Character obsessed with tornadoes (think the movie Twister, but Oryn has a fascination with the power of the wind) - kineticist awakening moment based on attempting to see what the inside of a tornado looks like.

Need to determine where on Golarion farm would be located - weather patterns similar to central US.
Need to determine a deity associated with weather/storms.

Wow! Now those are some amazing rolls. A 58 point buy. I salute your luck

Just throwing it out there. But you could go for Racial Heritage Storm Giant as your bonus feat, with Storm Soul as your lvl1. It would make you immune to electricity, and help explain his physical stats/powers

Silver Crusade

I like it, I will use it if the GM is ok with it.

That’s fine by me.

Can you put everything into a profile when you’re done. The hero lab sheet is really hard to read from my phone.

Gozreh is literally the god of storms so he’d be a good choice.

Silver Crusade

Yes, putting everything into the profile was my plan. I just used Pathbuilder to get a starting point.

Very cool. So what we have is...

A Human water kineticist who gained her powers via exposure to the plane of water

A Dwarven earth kineticist whose powers comes from being the descendent of survivors of the rending (in my mind this equaled exposure to the plane of earth)

A Human fire kineticist whose powers come from training, which complement his frost giant heritage

A Human air kineticist whose powers come from his storm giant heritage

——

And I like how the human with frost giant heritage has cold resistance 2, because he is a fire kineticist. And the human with storm giant heritage has immunity to electricity because he has embraced the powers of his bloodline instead of learning its opposition.

I'd definitely be interested! Kineticists are one of my favorite classes. But I don't want to detract from anyone who's already signed up for one of the four elements. Is it all right if I put up a set of stats for if someone decides they won't be able to make it? Or for if you decide you want an aetherkineticist with the power of heart. ;)

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 2) + 6 = 14

I think I could work with either set, but I'd probably pick the first. I'll keep an eye out for if something opens up!

Vrog/Kali, are you still with us?

Looking very much forward to the game :) sheet updated with stats and gear.

So my intention at the outset was just a short-term deal: run a short adventure with only classic element kineticists as a thought experiment. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I started to think about what fates could have drawn this so obviously not random collection of heroes together into the same place, and then long-term ideas began to take shape. To that end, I'd at least like to run these characters through to the end of Revenge of the Kobold King, as I have ideas on how to rework the secret baddie at the end of that adventure.

My job situation at the moment with Covid-19 is me working from my desk at home in front of the computer, and as such, I will likely be checking on the game between 30 and 40 times a day. Obviously, others are not in that situation, but I would really like to be able to enforce the multiple posts per day rule from the opening post: say 2 or 3.

Please let me know if any of that is a problem. It's not a deal-breaker by any means, but I'd like to know what expectations we can all have going in to the game.

A good location on Golarion might be the Heartlands of Cheliax. Considered the breadbasket of the nation, it consists of a lot of plains territories, and is far enough south to generate tornado-like situations.

I’m working from home now to, so posting weekdays works for me.

I'm out, you have enough interest.

I can post more than once a day only sporadically - even if the current phase means I'm online here more, I'm usually running from one task to another at work. Weekends I barely if ever come to the computer, so similarly I'm probably closer to one post per day. I will do my best to avoid holding us.

During weekends is different. I have no issues with how much you’ve posted on this recruitment thread, so no worries there.

I am indeed still here. I got suckered into helping someone with something that took way longer than I was happy about.

I'm also good to play any game you want to set in front of me =)

Applications are now closed, except...

Rennaivx, if you were to put together an aetherkineticist, how long would it take you?

I really hate rejecting one person from a game.

I’ve opened up the discussion thread, so folks can make their way there.

I've got Herolab on hand, so, like, 20 minutes? But you don't have to make an exception on my account if you don't want to. Have fun with your four folks. :)

In the beginning, I just wanted the classic four because this was going to be a one-off experiment. Now I have a longer-term story in mind, and it could use that fifth element (aether mind you, I have plans for wood and void).

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Then I'll have something ready to go soon!

The 5th Element? Awesome!!!

Here is my updated character.

Few free to dot the gameplay and discussion threads. Are you good with having just come into town with a merchant caravan?

I am good with that.

Rennaivx, I'm going to be disappointed if the character does not have "Lee", "Loo", or something to do with "Heart".

*tips hat* This seems interesting. I know I'll be reading.

Recruitment open again for a fire kineticist. First come first served.

I also sent PMs to folks who expressed interest but hadn’t submitted characters.

Looks like the spot is taken for the moment. Stand by.

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16

Second set to be used.

Rao Redflame. Human Fire Kineticist(Overwhelming Soul). Very much a "moths to the flame" type, with him being the flame. Just like fire, he consumes indiscriminately if something is close enough to set aflame. Burn hot, burn bright, and if he goes out, it'll be a blaze to be seen far and wide.

As far as anyone can guess, his heritage is Garundi or Keleshite, and if he had the money like he dressed, he would probably be a noble. Or he might be and he's not telling on either. He has been known to spin stories that are just this side of "too good to be believed", but they are certainly entertaining tales— their veracity unconfirmed. However, rarely has a story concluded without an admirer nearby, and coin in hand. Those that have traveled with him long enough will attest that he does draw eyes, keep attentions, and somehow been able to avoid any blame that may have occurred from various... "incidents" with a wink and a word.

Not sure if it needs mentioning, but non-evil is preferred. Not 100% sure where you’re going with the character, but some of that flavour text hints at some indiscriminate behaviour.

Understood. They're less "Raging Flame", more "Smoldering Heat"

Feel free to insert yourself into the role play as well while you finalize your build.
