Sorry about that. i totally forgot about your drone. i guess youd have a heads-up before the others in the room. So let's say that you can make a perception check with the drone. it'd be a group of 15 individuals, so with the perception check, if you get 2 successes youd get the heads up from the outside.

well give ezekial a chance to roll and react before my posting, and everyone elses actions, kicks in.

Mark immediately looks around trying to find an alternative way out. Just in case, he pulls back his robes and picks his trusted katana, Hikari.

Perception, any back door?: 9d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 3, 6, 2, 3, 6, 5) = 31 3 hits

ok. here we go.

Sam leaps up to his feet. he notices that the table isnt bolted to the floor and flips it on edge, and kneels behind it, a small pistol-like device in his hand.

No, there are no unattended credstiks laying about

The (rather piss poor) Johnson surges to his feet, swaying slightly, his eyes growing relaxed, and a large smile upon his face. pmmssuurree...i hav da...da...essskorts. hahahaha! shes at my..my..my house! hahahaha You can easily tell that the alcohol is seriously starting to hit his system. And from the way it's affecting him, this guy is a serious light weight.

Mark:
While there isnt a backdoor to this room serious fire hazard!, you can easily guestimate that the back wall of the room is the back wall of the restaurant.

taking a small liberty to convey some story background.

Continuum cracks the door open, and sees at the far end of the building, the entrance where you entered, you see a large group of men decked out in black body armor holding large riot guns, all pointing in the air. They have stenciled upon their chest the letters C A

Drek! Corporate Agents!

everything below is considered common knowledge, so no rolls are needed

You recognize the acronym CA, and the term Corporate Agent, the pseudo law enforcement arm for some of the mega-corps that are an extra-territorial police force used by the corps to protect it's workers. Until this latest pandemic, they were an unknown entity, spoke of in whisper and innuendo. But now, to help protect the working population of the corps, (well, protecting the investment in productivity), the CA has been more forceful with their presence in protection.
while people have been declared essential workers by their parent corporations, other corporations are known to not recognize the status, and use their Corporate agents to enforce curfews upon non corporate workers.

Mark eased the door closed and said "Corp Agents outside. Right now, we're just a bunch of people in a room. No need to panic, and we probably shouldn't go and start shooting anyone."

"As much fun as it might be."

"Anyone here a decker or full mage?"

Pat stands up and nods to Continuum.

"I will try and take care of this...everyone just sit still and say nothing...perhaps we can confuse their senses and simply be passed by."

Ok, going to try and cast Advanced Invisibility..it has been a while since I have cast spells so may need some help!! lol

BOD 5; AGI 4; REA 3; STR 3; WIL 3; LOG 3; INT 5; CHA 9 | EDG 3; Magic: 6

Quick Spellcasting Rundown:

Step 1: Pick your spell - Improved Invisibility

Step 2: Pick the Target(s) - Improved Invisibility is a single target spell

Step 3: Set force - This determines how powerful the spell is (higher is better), but also how hard it is to resist.

Step 4: Cast the Spell - Make a Spellcasting + Magic [F] test, and include any applicable modifiers (sustained spells, injury, mentor spirits, anything else)

Step 5: Determine Effect - the number of hits you get sets the threshold for anyone who tries to detect the target. Improved Invisibility also works on technology, so things like drones and cameras will not pick up an invisible person.

Step 6: Resist Drain - the Drain on Improved Invisibility is Force -1. Any force that isn't accounted for deals damage to the caster (i.e. if after your drain test you still haven't reduced the drain to 0, you take the remaining drain in damage). If the net hits of the spell were higher than your magic rating, the drain is physical; otherwise, it's stun damage.

The spell's duration is sustained, so it stays until you drop it. You also get a -1 penalty to spellcasting tests for each sustained spells (making it harder to cast spells) that aren't sustained by a focus.

"Maybe some of you know how to go through this wall" Mark comments, knowing it sounds silly but having witnessed many an adept punch through much harder materials. "We could use a Troll now, maybe" he jokes inside.

As he witnesses how the magician tries to use his weird powers, he waits in silence. "Let's see what does he come up with."

there are 15 agents standing in the large common room.

People begin to holler and yell, annoyed and angered at the presence of the CA, and their aggressive tactics, especially against those that are found to be working for corporate "opponents".

you hear, this time more easily since the door is cracked open (a testiment to the soundproofing quality craftsmanship of that has gone into making this room a true 'runners meeting room) one of the men say loudly over the commotion
This is Corporate Quarantine Security of NEONET! You all are under arrest for violation of quarantine rules. Stay in your seats and you shall be processed soon

Some people resume taking their seats, while others begin to yell louder, screaming, but, as of the moment, nothing rising towards the verge of violence has occurred yet.

Continuum...thats a good summary for magic. hell, it's a lot better than what im getting from the book.

LOL same here...thanks! The one thing I thought was that I could cast the invisibility over all of us, not just me...although I do not see it in the book, it just says Line of Sight...

BOD 5; AGI 4; REA 3; STR 3; WIL 3; LOG 3; INT 5; CHA 9 | EDG 3; Magic: 6

Your target has to be in LOS to target them. IIRC, there is a invisiblity spell to target a group, but it's in one of the suppliments. I could be mistaken, however.

Also, are we on Neonet corp grounds, or just in Seattle?

"I'm going to go speak to them, you guys be ready to move him" John jerks his thumb at the Johnson "Out the back. Assuming they don't have that covered yet. Also, one of you give me your contact info."

Sam holsters his stunner again, pulls out his Renraku Sensai and sends his data via infrared once Continuum has his comp ready to receive. He then turns to the others, "Can you two handle him? I can provide cover for both our exit and Continuum's safety if the CA start bustin heads. Ezekiel, you seem to have had some foresight to overwatch the meet, can you also check for any other goons outside? We do not really want to split into two forces if we can help it."

Assuming the guy is a medium built fellow...

Mark puts his katana back in the hilt and nods at Sam, taking the drunkster on his shoulders. "I got him, you all work your magic." He doesn't seem to be doing much effort, but of course, he can't be holding the dead weight forever. Hopefully, he only needs to last until the rest can clear a way out.

just seattle. there are some blocks that are megacorp owned, but 90% of the area is still public domain

the plan is to have continuum talk to the CA while everyone else makes a discreet exit out the back? and carrying the johnson as well?

Speaking quietly in some foreign language, Pat cast a spell to take control of the Agent's minds.

"I think going out front and standing there quietly would be a very good idea!"

Force 6 Mobmind spell:

Casting - 15d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5, 3, 5, 4, 6, 3, 1, 1, 3, 4, 1, 5, 3) = 53 5 successes
Drain: 10d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 6, 2, 5, 6, 1, 3, 2, 5) = 38 4 successes vs Force 7...so 3 points of fatigue??

Adjusting his tie, John left the back room after getting the contact number then approached the Corp Agents and said "Excuse me, who is the commander among you men?"

Once he identified himself, John said "You do realize that you have no authority here, correct? You are, unless I am mistaken, Corp Agents for NeoNet. I know this may confuse you here, but you are, in fact, not on NeoNet territory. This is, in fact, UCAS territory. In short, you have no authority here."

John then smiled a disarming smile and said "Now, if I were you, before you start an international incident, I would take a look around, realize what you are doing, and then leave."

Negotiate + Cha; Social Limit 13: 12d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 1, 5, 3, 3, 6, 1, 3, 3, 5) = 41 4 successes, no glitch.

correct...im pretty sure. magic rating 7, spellcasting 6, Spell foci 2, total of 15. your drain is based off of your tradition; being hermetic makes it logic and willpower, so 5+5 gives you 10 dice to roll. youre good there. so yeah, you got it. Your total successes was less than your magic rating, so the drain you suffer is stun and not physical.

Continuum leaves from the door of the private conference room and strides purposfully towards the corporate agents, and begins to lay into whom he perceives to be the leader of the group, as denoted by a single yellow stripe upon the black helmet the individual wears.

The Daghda steps out from the room and mumbles a subtle spell, imposing his will upon the group of agents that are harassing the patrons of the bar. As one, the agents stop pushing and shoving the individuals, and instead turn and file out of the room, as if suddenly acting like automatons.

The leader looks back at his men, and with the persuasive argument from Continuum, nods his head and walks out with his men, instructing them to go out side and form up. Several of the patrons who were being harassed come up to Continuum and slap his back and attempt to shake his hand a way of saying thanks for the help.

The rest of the group inside the room look out and see a glowing exit sign hung upon the wall in the back. Double doors, painted a subdued beige, it stands unguarded.

sorry about not posting yesterday. time got away from me.

you know, let's say that there are places where people can go and rent out office or meeting space by the hour or day are available. An "on demand" office space. You could do a matrix search for one of the publicly available spaces, or perhaps a call to a contact could put you in touch with a slightly more underground "rent by the job" workspaces.

alright...im gonna jump us ahead a little bit.

You do a quick search through the parking lot, and, with the help of the Johnson, find his car. his slurred Big...black...car was soo helpful in finding his car, which turns out to be a large suburban with black rims, and tinted rear windows.

Getting into the vehicle is easy, as the back has been converted from the standard seats going across the vehicle to a large seat at the back and the passenger side having more bench seat. mounted on the lower wall of the vehicle in the rear is a small monitor of a onboard computer. Two seats at the front, one for a driver, the other for a passenger, suggest a more tactical security upgrade.
A feminine voice with a british accent chimes in over the vehicle speakers Destination, Mr Rhodes?

Pulling a name at random here
Sam speaks up quickly. Echo Lake area. Corner of 244th street Southwest, and Pacific Highway 99.

The voice chimes back. Mr Rhodes, confirm?

Sam nudges the Johnson, who gurgles a huh, what? yes! confirmed he finishes with a belch and slumps over on his seat, breathing deep, passed out.
