Idril takes a cautious step toward the Decembvirate near him and attacks! He pulls back and weaves a spell as he prepares to unleash an assault. Idril deftly keeps himself from the foe's reach and triggers his spell then swings the dark katana in tow flashes. The blade slices and cuts, arcane electricity jumping from the weapon.

Idril takes a 5 foot step then utilizes spellstrike and spell combat. He casts shocking grasp defensively then attacks once with Ankar charged with SG then again via spell combat.

Stepping back, his smile widens. "Seems your companions don't like falling...lets see how you fair!" With a flick of his wrist, the terrain below their enemy seems to sink down a few inches.

You know what? I appreciate a good stumblegap.

Vin and the Butcher knock Helven woozy. Idril's blade explodes with energy, blasting off both of Helven's arms, which fade into mist. Spectral Helven stumbles forward, his mouth agape, before he trips on something and falls on his face.

Salazar stomps where Helven used to be, but he has already stopped moving. His body fades into the mists he tried to hide himself within.

Veldrid has a 1 in 400 chance of successfully climbing out of the pit, given that she needs to make a pair of nat 20's to succeed. She also has some healing spells to draw things out even further. I'm going to handwave her inevitable defeat at your hands.

For those of you keeping track at home, Helven is at an impressive -76 hp.

Eylysia floats up above the pit, and casts a grim-looking spell into it.

Spellcraft DC 20:
Cone of Cold!: 15d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2, 4, 3, 6, 3, 6, 1, 3, 1, 1, 2, 1, 3) = 46

She turns to look at all of you, and says, “That went differently this time; I like this ending better,” before fading from view.

As the scene shifts and fades in front of you, the world spins. The broken strands of magical mist explode in a whirlwind of rainbow light as Eylysia’s vision concludes and the battered old spell finally ends. You black out for a moment before coming to in the Grand Lodge--with a new memory, in addition to what you just experienced.

An injured Zaul flees the battle, abandoning the others as he exits the library. Only one of Eylysia’s companions remains visible, the gnome wizard Fimbrik the Illusionist, who sends a chain lightning spell at Veldrid. The spell drops the masked dwarf to the ground. A badly wounded Helven points his blade at Eylysia and stalks towards the defiant gnome woman. “Your secrets cannot remain hidden forever!” Eylysia cries, before tapping a foot on the ground and vanishing, where your new memory ends.

Now that you are all fully back in the present, Master Shaine slowly approaches you. "Ah! Welcome back to the world of the living! I recognize that look from personal experience. You'll feel better in a moment--depending on body weight and metabolism, of course."

Dexter steps up once he readjusts to his normal height, "Well, we had a vision of Eylysia doing an investigation into something. Then three people showed up and tried to kill her to keep her silence. I think in the actual past they managed to do so. Anyway, they were wearing Decemvirate helms: one eyeless and triple-flanged, another topped with stag antlers, and the third a crystal-studded black domino mask. We fought them off in the vision which hopefully will allow the restful spirit some peace. I'm still not sure of the secret she was investigating though, this whole mission has been a blur."

Shaine and the Decemvirate who have been observing listen intently. As far as you can tell.

The two masked Decemvirate members turn toward each other, as if sharing a silent conversation.

One of them turns toward you, and in the neutral Mask-influenced voice, says, “These secrets have remained hidden for too long—from the Decemvirate and the Society both. In doing so, the organization defamed an upstanding agent. What we have learned here grants us an opportunity to correct past crimes. Well done, Pathfinders.”

Shaine nods, quietly, and waits for them to leave the research library. He returns his attention to you a moment later. "Excellent work, team. We'll have more tasks for you soon! In the meantime, take a few days off. You've earned it."
