GM MattMorris |
I love it, Anton. Have a Hero Point for great RP of your kami visitor. Answers to those questions in the morning.
Garad |
The sorcerer asks: Where did he go? We have to follow him quickly. We can't follow him without knowing where he went.
GM MattMorris |
"We have tried to follow him, but he is good at evading us." Li Po grabs a sack of equipment and hands it to you. "Here, if you are here to help us, maybe this equipment would be useful."
Inside the sack are a composite shortbow with 10 arrows, a greataxe, and a greatclub.
Ti Lan continues, "Every time we get close to him, there's some sort of distractions, like...OH NO, LOOK OUT!"
As she finishes speaking, four moving statues crash out of the forest onto the trail ahead! They look bent on destruction.

[spoiler=Recall Knowledge (Arcane) DC 13]A guardian statue has Hardness. This Hardness reduces any damage it takes by an amount equal to the Hardness. Once an guardian statue is reduced to less than half its Hit Points, or immediately upon being damaged by a critical hit, its construct armor breaks and its Armor Class is reduced to 14.[spoiler]Remember that attempting this check is an action.

Garad and Ukh's fiery attacks destroy the last two statues.
"Ah, thank the gods you were here," Li Po sighes. "Those guardians have been a hard problem for us. We'd have had a rocky time!"
Ti Lan rolls her eyes at then pun. "The presence of the kami in the stolen relic is obviously disturbing every spirit and creature in the forest. Could you try to find the thief and see if you retrieve the relic? I've a feeling this will only stop when we reunite the spirit with its ward."
Assuming you agree, you can use Survival to look for tracks. You already know that you are looking for the fox-like prints of a kitsune.
Ukh |
A little proud of his two bombs splashes the goblin places some new ones in his bandolier during the time the specialists of the wilderness assume to find out some tracks of a kitsune to follow.
Anton Goldthimble |
As I have seen the Kitsune through the touch of the Kami he is designated as my prey

Anton and Marra scour the area, and the soon uncover vulpine prints leading into the forest. The marks in the snow resemble pawprints, but they have the gait of a biped.
After following the tracks off the road and navigating deeper into the forest for about an hour, you come to a clearing that looks particularly familiar to Anton.
You find a kitsune crouched in the clearing, holding a bag of valuables. He has a puzzled look on his face.
"Ah, I thought you might catch up with me eventually. I hope you traveled safely through the forest. Things have been unsettled here--and I've been trying to help with it..."
Anton Goldthimble |
In Halfling trying to look non threatening. The pup thinks he is a mage. Unfortunately he is doing more harm then good. If someone who is good at intimidating others wants to try to scare him straight that might work. Also you might be able to impress him with what you know about nature or forest.
Marra Nelandra |
"Yes. Animated trees and living statues. I know much of this area and I don't need to tell you that nature is out of balance here. If you would like me to look at the relic I do have more experience with these things."
Marra walks towards him hand outstretched.

The goblin doesn't understand why they are all speaking in a strange language. Perhaps he should throw a bomb to make them notice there are other people here. He's hesitating.
Anton Goldthimble |
Seeing the Goblin's confusion but readiness to do violence Anton has to take a moment to decide rather or not he should just allow it. sighs deeply and rolls his eyes speaks in common Basically what I said was that the fox-fella fancy's himself a mage. However, he is going to make things worse without some kind of help. Somebody should try to talk some sense into him. I kinda agree with the goblin point's to the goblin's ready bomb However, I wouldn't be here if I didn't get into so much trouble with my shoot first attitude. So somebody say something so we don't have to kill him
GM MattMorris |
"Well, you can't do any worse than I've been doing." He digs through his sack of goodies and brings out a bonsai tree, handing it to Marra. Despite being inside the sack, it's in impeccable shape.
The tree gives off a gentle glow that pulsates like a heartbeat. Marrra, when you hold it you are given the full sensory impression of a year in this deep forest: the smell of spring rains, the warm glow of summer sun, the crisp chill of autumn air, and the sleepy torpor of winter afternoons.
"Do you hear that?!" the kitsune suddenly jumps to attention. "Here we go again!"
Branch sway aside in the forest, and a giant tree lumbers out, one of its branches held like shield and the other wielding a large stone sword.

It’s trained as a warrior and will take advantage of unwary adversaries attempting to move past unprotected. Why is he here? Can we get it to stand down without a fight?”

Anton, seeing that his current allies are not eager for a fight will (1)load his crossbow (2) move and (3) Hunt Prey on Red. However will take no direct hostile action. How about we all just settle down. No body wants to hurt anyone
Ukh |
The goblin is as surprised as he feels a sense of incomprehension.
They are fools in their head, these Longshanks. At one point in the history of Golarion they wanted to murder all the goblin for nothing and now that they are attacked by a tree they want to discuss with it... after having blasted it first.
So the little goblin moves to have good point of view to assist to the scene.
But he also readies a bomb because he's not as fool as the Longshanks.

Aehronim's ice directly hits the creature. Though Ukh's bomb narrowly misses, the flames from the splash damage seem to combust some of the creature's sap, doing more damage than expected.
