Ishkitik

Xic, I know there are a few, like the one I'm using for Ishkitik here, but it might take some searching.
GM Dennis
|
And to be clear, Ishkitik there is not coming on this adventure, so you could use that one if you can find it.

Here is the Maps & Handouts deck for this game. I'll also link this at the top of the page and in my tagline.
GM Dennis

Hey folks, I'm in a real-time game this afternoon. I'll get us moving later this evening.
GM Dennis
|
We're still missing StarKat, AKA Rogue Ravenit; I'll start working on a replacement. I'm also still waiting on Preparation checks from Navasi and Xic.
GM Dennis
|
Xic, you can find that particular picture by clicking 'more' under the 'Type' section of the checkboxes on the on the avatar selection page, then checking the 'shirren' box. Doing so returns two results, one of which is that shirren picture that Kate suggested.
GM Dennis

We've been selected to start with an Aid Token (detailed on slide 7). Please use it or boost it soon, and I'll pass it along.
GM Dennis
|
I've also added a map of the star system and the starting locations of the two fleets to the slide deck.
GM Dennis

Nice avatar, Xic!
Data Hack is fine, though I'll point out since it may not have been clear: The jinsul fleet is currently orbiting Agillae-4, the site of that mission (see slide 8 for the current locations). Totally fine to go there still, though the presence of the fleet may make things a little more challenging (the jinsul fleet makes things harder, the Starfinder fleet makes things easier).
Also, Ground Force Intel is not on the same planet, but another planet in the Agillae system (the Scoured Stars is made up of a trinary star system, and there are planets orbiting each of the three stars).

Thanks took a bit to find one :) Ok thanks for the clarification. I need to look at the map again. Maybe we stick near the Starfinder fleet for now?

I see a big fuzzy thing, it is... **Rolled a 17**
Sorry, I should have explained how I do knowledge checks: Please roll on your turn, then open the spoiler. Inside, you will see a DC listed with a nested spoiler within. If you beat the listed DC, then you can open the nested spoiler. In this case, both Xic and Pamatea beat the DC to identify this creature as a jeskraal. You can all read the spoiler, as Pamatea has already acted and can share what she knows.

Also, please check out the Aid Token and choose a benefit to use during this encounter, or boost it at the end of the encounter. We should pass it along.
GM Dennis

No one is into Hit Point damage yet. Only Pamatea has been hit, and that hasn't gotten through her Stamina yet.
GM Dennis
|
No worries. These are trying times, for sure.
Xic

I still feel uncertain about my understanding of Starfinder. For my recent post, is that OK with all my checks? Thanks.
I think I know why I liked Discord better because using my phone for forums posts is difficult. Much better on my laptop lol and I do like forums better :)

Ouch good thing I dodge or I would be almost dead. So I moved my character on the map, can I take my full move 30 feet without issue? Does it provoke attack of opportunity? If it does, what is distance I can move without provoking?
GM Dennis
|
If you move more than 5 feet away as a move action, it will provoke. If you want to move farther, you could first move 5 feet as a move action, then use your standard action to move farther, but that's all you'd be able to do this round.

Ok I will do that then.

Looking at your stats, I'm going to suggest an alternate lineup to consider:
Captain: Navasi
Pilot: Kaeon
Science Officer/Engineer: Pamatea
Gunner 1: Mech-01
Gunner 2: Xic
Mec-01 is actually your best gunner at +4 I think. Pamatea could bounce between Science Officer and Engineer (it's rare you really need both in any given round), which would free up Navasi to be captain and aid pilot or gunnery checks, with Xic as second gunner.
Either way, I'm going to launch the battle tonight, so we don't fall too far behind.
Xic

Thanks for the suggestion. I will fill what ever roll you want. I am not confident in understanding the rolls in star ships. I have a good life science +5 but I think me being gunner works. Can I take on two roles and do my magic officer spell then jump back on to gunner?
GM Dennis
|
Mec-01, you have 16 dex (+3) and +1 BAB. That adds up to +4 gunnery, unless I'm missing something. The formula is usually Dex Mod + (BAB or # of ranks in Piloting).
Mec-01
|
I forgot the BAB.But the difference is still great (+3 to +4 for gunnery but +5 to +10 or +11 Engineering or computer)
Pamatea
|
Ha ha, I forgot Pamatea has a BAB now. She is also +4 to gunnery. Let's swap Mec-01 and Pamatea and otherwise go with that lineup.
GM Dennis

The Taunt includes all the people of the ship. It is ruled so by another GM in a fight which occurs now in another game (and it is against us).
I can't speak to what's happening in another game. In my opinion, though, the rules are pretty clear that it only affects people acting in one phase, chosen by the Captain doing the taunting:
You select an enemy vessel and a phase of combat (engineering, helm, or gunnery), and then attempt a Bluff or Intimidate check. If you are successful, each enemy character acting during the selected phase takes a -2 penaly to all checks for 1d4 rounds;
GM Dennis
|
Your BAB is your Base Attack Bonus, which is 0 for a level 1 mystic.
GM Dennis
|
I have a question, what skill am I using for gunnery? Is it my Dex and what is my BAB? And are there any bonuses for gunnery to use? Thanks.
Actually, looks like you have one rank in piloting, which you can use instead of your BAB. Your total bonus for gunnery is +2.

I don't think I've been very clear in the details of this battle, so let me sum up a bit:
I'll also point out that the overseer just announced a house success on this mission. You're welcome to continue on it, and if you earn a success he will apply it to one of the other missions. You also have the the option of letting this scout escape and moving on to another mission instead, if you'd prefer.
| Navasi! |
It sounds like we're a little behind, so I'm fine with letting the ship get away if you think that'll help our table's overall schedule.
GM Dennis
|
It's up to you; you don't need to accomplish every mission (I don't think it's possible), and there are always going to be some tables in a mission when it gets called, and it's fine to continue.
I think in this case a confluence of factors are going to make this one a slog, including the high value I rolled for how far apart you started and the particular weapon set up of the Drake at this level.
