You're right. Chose the restoration since it seems most useful in general for a heroic token with no CL check.
Done.

Hey, y'all. GM Ilmakis' table is down to 4 players running CORE through this thing. If you're looking for a somewhere to pass some Aid Tokens, that's a good place to start.
GM Dennis |
I've launched the Spellcaster Aid Mission. As discussed earlier, for this mission please compile all results from all aid characters participating in this aid mission, then report once. If there are no successes, or if no one at your table is participating in this mission, please report 0 successes, so I know not to wait for your table.
Please get this launched today. I'd like to be done with it by Wednesday.

Mirrors and Wards question:
If the PCs at a table amass a number of successes equal to the number of players at the table, report one Bypass success to HQ staff.
So basically 6/6 players need to succeed at DC 27/33 checks. This seems unreasonably difficult unless people are expected to burn rerolls. Is that correct?
It also seems odd that the engineering / disable checks are lower (I get profession & strength, and I think players expect that).
This seems like a frustrating encounter designed to generate table failures.

Each player can attempt each of the three checks (assuming they have the appropriate skills). So while one PC might not generate any successes, another might generate three out of the six needed. So it's not terribly unreasonable, but certainly difficult.
GM Doug H |
Oh man. I don't know how I missed that. Thanks!
GM Lorenzo |
Reported 5 (4, including 1 Triumph) Spellcaster Aid Mission successes from our table.

It is with regret that I must anounce the first death on my table. Archie the Lantern Archon, the pluckiest little Archon that ever did bob around like a happy ball of light is no more. He was brought into this place by the Paladin Brutus and has happily dispensed his aid spell to the entire party every three minutes. Now he is little more than a yellow stain on the floor, having taken 200 damage from a wail of the banshee. It remains to be seen if Brutus will arrange for his resurrection.

Poor Archie.
I suspect we'll not see him again; non-native outsiders are quite difficult to bring back to life.

Well, as I reminded our Paladin Brutus, who brought Archie here, Lord Starborn is willing to pay half the cost of a resurrection or similar spell once per player. That brings it down to a quite reasonable 5455gp, a pittance for the life of an immortal being.

Even resurrection doesn't work (and is specifically called out as not working.) The outsider subtype says "it takes a different magical effect, such as limited wish, wish, miracle, or true resurrection to restore it to life."
Although... looking at it, limited wish might actually be cheaper than raise dead. Since raise dead doesn't work, limited wish can't be duplicating the spell's effects, so you don't need to spend those material components. Odd potential loophole, there. Brutus might be able to get away with 2410gp (or 1205, with the discount.)

So maybe I am just missing it, but looking at encounter B3, there is a description only of what happens if someone falls in a pit, but no reason for the characters to end up in the pit. Am I supposed to use the monsters to try and throw them in the pit? It seems logical, but generally these scenarios aren't quite so vague on tactics... or am I just really missing something obvious?

Can you change the setting on the Map Deck to enable GMs to copy the images?
Thanks.
GM Lorenzo |
Reported a Catacombs and a Bypass success.
And I discovered I can just copy the slide in the Map Deck to get what I need, so I don't need to be able to select the image off of the slide.
GM Lorenzo |
According to the Success Tracker, we're getting close to opening the Silent Shrine.
I'm loathe to start an optional encounter in the Catacombs, if it eats into the time available to the table for Area C.
What do you think?

This part runs for aother two weeks, it very much depends on how fast your group is.
GM Lorenzo |
Right, Part 4 starts on April 30.
Part 3 includes Area C, but it doesn't kick off until there's an Overseer GM announcement. That's why I asked.
GM Dennis |
We're two Catacombs successes from opening part C. I'd suggest holding off for a day before you launch another optional.
GM Dennis |
If we use an Aid token from another table, do we need to send notification back to the table?
No, only if you are passing an aid token yourself.

Milestones reached. You should all have a post from me opening area C.

See 'Whispers of the Pillar' on p.17.

Sorry about that. Form should be fixed now, please go ahead and try reporting again.
GM Lorenzo |
Reported 1 Silent Shrine and 1 Clue success.
2 of four Muscle Aid Mission attempts, no successes yet.
GM Lorenzo |
Looking to pass along a couple of Aid Tokens:
Heroic Burst of Healing
Provide Spellcasting (Restoration, 100gp, CL15)
Any takers?

I'd like to get the opinions of some other GMs on this one.
My group just took control of a wraith and told it to attack another undead.
Wraiths specifically deal negative energy damage with their attack. Would you treat this as healing, immunity, or normal damage?
I'm heavily leaning towards it healing the other undead, but want a second opinion.
GM Cwethan |
I'd say immunity - My understanding is that negative energy doesn't heal undead unless an ability specifically says so, but I'll try to pull up a citation...
***
EDIT
Yep, immunity because they're not living, but no heals unless something says so.

I'm still missing Aid Mission (muscle) reporting from a few GMs. Please get those reported so I can announce the condition. Remember to report 0 if your table didn't earn any.
GM Doug H |
We'll take a non-heroic Spellcasting Heroism if anyone's got one.
