Jerax: Combat Maneuver, Trip vs Red (19 - Tripped)
Veda: Attack Cyan, Dead
Alixus: CopyCat
Ameliya: Mind Thrust, -1 Dmg (I won't bother with the save; doesn't go lower than 1) ;)
Lily moves up, delivering a nasty wound against the deputy that had gone after Veda, while Slenk weaves a spell that sends two of the deputies into unconsciousness. As things start bloody, Jerax maneuvers around the side of the group, calling out, "Take 'em alive if you can! We have an empty jail to fill," as he uses his spiked chain to trip Curtwyn. Veda seems unmoved by the call for restraint, growing claws and finishing the job Lily had started, the deputy dropping to the ground, while the one facing off with Ameliya suddenly clasps the side of his head as if beset by a migraine.
More occupied by Curtwyn and with Jerax across from her, Cimri seems to take his lead, although the scowl on her face suggests its begrudgingly. Slicing at Curtwyn with her kukri and then trying to bash his head with the hilt of her dagger, the rogue manages a pair of glancing blows.
==End Round 1. Round 2 Begins.==
Curtwyn howls in frustration. While prone, he kicks the deputy next to him (orange), yelling, "Wake up you fool! Wake up!" His colleague stirs, shocked to find himself facedown in the dirt.
From the back, yellow loads and fires his crossbow at Jerax. It should have been a lethal shot (Crit) but instead the bolt grazes Jerax's brow, drawing a line of blood over an eye. (3 points of lethal to Jerax--Worst. Crit. Ever.)
Meanwhile, the last deputy shrugs off whatever headache Ameliya had given him, "You'll pay for that, witch!" He swings his club and lands a bone-crunching blow. (Crit. Ameliya takes 6 points lethal.)

Slenk |

Slenk says, "Jerax, go after the one with the crossbow, I will try my magics again on the ones on the ground."
Just a free action talk, hoping Jerax clears the way for me to use another sleep spell.

Jerax Hellfire |

"Way ahead of you, Slenk!", the towering tiefling calls out to the height-challenged halfling, using his wrist to stem the blood flow above his eye.
"Cimri, dear. Please watch over the reverend until Daddy comes back. Thank you," Jerax asked his rogue paramour, as he turned around and advances on the crossbowed former deputy, whipping his masterwork weapon straight into the nose of his attacker.

Alixus Vade |

Alixus bellows, "Heretics, nonbelievers, traitors! Feel the judgement of Asmodeus!" He raises the Archstar high and a wave of spectral flames bursts out, it's tendrils shaping themselves into diabolic faces as they crash into the deputies and shape themselves around Slenk and Jerax.
Channel Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Channeling and excluding Slenk and Jerax. DC 13 will save for half...of one."

Slenk |

Seeing Jerax and Alixus clear the area he call to Veda, "Back away towards the house, I need room." He then waits for Veda to clear the area or make clear that she won't and slings sand again while invoking magical slumber.
Once Veda goes, he will act and cast sleep to get all the remaining deputies lined up. If Veda is still in her square she will need to save as well. DC 15.

Ameliya Arvanxi |

The deputy attack almost sent Ameliya reeling to the ground as she was stuck by the brigand. Fortunately, she was able to keep yourself standing and endure the pain at her sides. Though she desperately wished to strike the bastard again with her powers once more, survival demanded that she take care of herself by drinking a potion.

Jerax: No More Mister Nice Guy -- Spiked Chain to the Face, Hit
Alixus: Channel; 1 Dmg
Ameliya: Potion -- I will assume a 5' step back, too; otherwise this would provoke an AoO
Lily: Punch! Hit, 11 pts NL
Veda: Total Defense
Slenk: Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream...
Jerax tries to keep things coordinated as he switches strategies and goes straight for the deputy that had tried to shoot him in the head. The tiefling's spiked chain snaps out and cracks the deputy in the face. Meanwhile, the reverend adjusts his position and channels an unholy burst of energy. Unfortunately, the effects are oddly muted as the deputies only take a little damage and the last slumbering deputy awakens from the injury.
Ameliya and Veda back up, the former quaffing a potion to heal her wounds, while Lily doubles down and moves to flank one of the deputies, cracking a fist into his spine. The man is clearly on the edge but not down yet. Slenk, seeing his opportunities dwindling, drops a Sleep spell into the mix. Due to her proximity, Lily is the first to drop into a slumber, followed by Curtwyn who slumps back into unconsciousness just seconds after screaming at others to wake up. At that point, the spell seems to have no more effect.
Though she is blocked by a row of prone deputies, Cimri sees an opportunity to "kick 'em while they're down" and takes a slight step towards the tower -- if she can keep the deputies' attention on her, it should keep the reverend and tiefling from getting flanked. She no longer tries to blunt the strikes and draws blood from both. She sneers, "Come on you lazy bastards. You wanted a fight, get up!"
==End Round 2. Round 3 Begins==
Hmm. The evil part of me wants to go for a Coup de Grace on Lily, but the deputies aren't evil, so...
Magenta casts a quick glance at Lily and, however bad her sucker punch had been, he sees she's no longer a threat, so he advances on Ameliya and Veda. With her claws, Veda seems the more immediate threat, so he takes a swing at her -- despite Veda's increased defense, the deputy lands a glancing blow. (Veda takes 2 points lethal.)
Meanwhile, Orange and Green both try to roll from Cimri's blows (Standard for Total Defense) then stand (move action, triggering AoO). Cimri draws another wicked line of blood as her kukri parts flesh, but the other deputy manages to dodge the strike.
In back, yellow unceremoniously drops the crossbow and draws his club, then swings at Jerax, "Die, devil-born!" (Looks like a hit with a 16, but only 3 damage.)

Veda takes a double-swipe at the deputy in front of her (Pink/Magenta). He parries the first blow but the second slips through and he falls to the ground from his accumulated wounds, unconscious. Slenk wakes up Lily and she tries to bring down an opponent but finds herself still groggy from the Sandman's visit. Ameliya tries to give another of the deputies a proper brain hemmorage, but he resists the worst of the assault. Meanwhile, in back, the deputy squaring off with Jerax skips over the spiked chain the tiefling tried to wrap around his ankles.
Cimri seems to be entirely done playing dice. She concentrates both blades on Orange. The deputy, focused on protecting himself as much as he can, manages to dodge the swipe of her kukri, but the dagger follows quickly and slips in between the man's ribs, right to the hilt. He collapses to the ground as she snarls at the last one standing, "Tried to warn you, Ashel."
With the odds having firmly swung against them and four of their colleagues either dead or unconscious, Ashel takes a careful step back as he raises his hands, "Alright, alright! I give up!"
In back, Saster (yellow) seems less inclined to trust in your mercy. He spits at Jerax, then attempts to flee down the street.
Yellow takes a Withdraw action. Movement out of first threatened square does not provoke, but if the spiked chain has reach, Jerax gets an AoO. Let's resolve that first. Then we'll do one more round in case folks want to try ranged attacks/spells/pursuit.

Yellow takes a Withdraw action. Movement out of first threatened square does not provoke, but if the spiked chain has reach, Jerax gets an AoO. Let's resolve that first. Then we'll do one more round in case folks want to try ranged attacks/spells/pursuit.
Spiked chain, sadly, is not a reach weapon. Don't know why.
"Come back here, you piece of sh|t!" Jerax bellows as his opponent runs away. The antipaladin knows he should make chase, but he, and his party members, are on a tight schedule. Dragging those back who surrendered back to jail and locking them up will take precious time.
Slenk |

Slenk calmly places a his dagger to the throat of the unconcious man next to him and yells to the fleeing man, "If you flee, this one dies! Come back and you will be treated fairly, flee and you condemn yourself and your friends!"

Lily Tuvol |

Lily sees the former deputy try to flee, she's not about to let that happen. "You piece o' s#~%, coward." Lily scowls and her skin takes on a crimson hue, she charges the fleeing man leading with her shoulder.
Trip, charge, rage, bless: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 26 This will provoke. AC 13.

GM Snowheart |

So, some bad map keeping on my part with resulting confusion. I didn't fully update the last deputy's movement as it would have taken him off the map, but with him using a double-move withdraw action, he'd have been 55' from his current location (I only moved him 5' away from Jerax when I updated). So, I don't think Lily would be able to reach him if she only has 30' movement speed.
Whether he heard Slenk's threat, didn't believe it, or just didn't care, it didn't bring Saster to a halt. The deputy continued his flight and disappeared around the corner of a building. The one who surrendered (Green), however, does plead for his friend's life, "Don't do it, please. He's, uh, got a family and... He's... we're better off to you as prisoners, right?"
Keeping this out of the spoiler box just for the sheer absurdity of it...
Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1
You'd have to be a moron to not see the man is just coming up with random arguments on the fly in the hope that one of them might work. He's panicked and just making up anything he can to try to save his friend's life.

Jerax Hellfire |

Jerax stomps over to the rest of the former deputies and assists Veda in getting the prisoners ready for the march back to the jail. "Alright, you bastards!" The towering tiefling barks at the former agents of the law. "Any escape attempt will result in a place in line for the River of Souls!"
Intimidate (with guidance): 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 2 + 1 = 18

Slenk |

Slenk responds directly to the liar blathering to save his friend's life.
"Enough. You can see the value that that cowardly wretch his rebellion place on your friend's life. I will not throw away a citizen's life without due process. You will face the proper justice under the Law. Was resisting your lawful ruler who has employed you all this time worth it?"
Slenk sheathes his blade and works with the others to bind the rebels and take them to the jail.

GM Snowheart |

Grabbing a sleeve of one of the deceased deputies, Cimri wipes the blood from her blades before sheathing them. Grabbing some rope from her pack, she helps tie them up. When she ties up Asher, the one who she had threatened and who had been begging for his friend's life, she half-purrs, half-growls in his ear, "I tried to warn you... Funny how things shake out when my aunt isn't looking out for you."
There is no further resistance from the deputies. From the shadow of their house, Bo and Dent watch in stunned silence but make no move to interfere.
Two more notices to go, three former deputies in custody, and two corpses in the street!

Alixus Vade |

Alixus turns towards Bo and Dent's house says loudly to them, "I would recommend you listen! The agents of Thrune are here to stay, and our word carries with it the weight of law. When the rebels are crushed, will you be those who share their fate?"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Lily Tuvol |

In that case I still would have raged but double moved after him. Dropping my falchion and drawing my sling.

GM Snowheart |

==In Pursuit of Deputy Do-Right==
Lily: Got it. In the interest of expediency, I'm going to try to resolve some of this here... 6 damage would drop him.
Lily takes off in pursuit of the fleeing deputy, dropping her falchion and pulling out a sling as she goes. As she reaches the corner where the deputy turned, she sees him down the street, loads a "bullet" into the sling and whips it off...
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Dmg: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
...but her fingers slip on the sling and the shot spins off through a window of a nearby shop.
The deputy continues to flee.
Judging by actions, he would now have a solid 60'+ lead on Lily, as she would have needed a move to load and standard to fire, during which the deputy would have just fled. If you want to continue, we could try using the Chase rules.
==Back at the Gate==
Bo and Dent can't hide their sour expressions, but they do turn away and retreat back into their house.

Jerax Hellfire |

Jerax frowns. "We should get those dead bodies off the street. For public health. Any ideas?"

Lily Tuvol |

Having missed her one shot she gives up pursuit of the former deputy. She returns to the rest of the party, "He got away. Maybe he'll turn up later, its a small town."

Jerax Hellfire |

"He got away. Maybe he'll turn up later, its a small town."
"Nice hussle there, Lily", Jerax consoles the former pirate. "You'll get that bastard next time."

Veda Northanger |

Veda watches Lily take off as she helps wrangle prisoners.
Huh, she's awfully eager...
When Jerax raises the question of the two bodies Veda has the answer.
"As it happens I know just the place. We can drop them off on our way."
Veda takes a couple of bits of paper and writes the names of the deceased on them. She then stuffs the correct name into the clothes of the deceased.
"Alright, we can deliver them and then get back to the other stuff."
She leads the group to her house. Although she doesn't volunteer to help carry a body, she'll do so if needed. At her house she directs the bodies to be dropped outside the door. She gives the door a solid thumping with her fist and yells inside.
"Dad! Delivery outside! Police work! Send the bill to the Sheriff's Office! See you at dinnertime!"
Turning around she asks the others "Alright which next? Jail or notices?"

Jerax Hellfire |

The antipaladin looks at the building. "Veda. You're father's Longacre's mortician? I did not know that. Convenient", Jerax said with a satisfied grin.
"I think we should the tavern next, then save the church for last. But I'm not above other suggestions."

Slenk |

As we march the prisoners off, Slenk mentions to the group.
"Leaving them alone in the jail seems like asking for trouble. If we're going to be operating as law enforcement, we need to guard the prisoners appropriately. We've already seen some are willing to break the law to support the rebels, and a breakout of these miscreants would be a likely focus of their efforts."

Veda Northanger |

"Mortician? Does that mean undertaker? Fancy! I like it!"
By the time the bodies are delivered and it's on to other things Veda's mutagen has worn off. She's starting to feel where she got whacked and it hurts again. She takes one of her mixtures from the morning and downs it.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Ameliya Arvanxi |

As they stood outside Veda's home, an agitated Ameliya swept at her gown trying to get out some of the blood that had gotten on to it. Her mind still lingered on the damnable deputies that had the gall to attack her. It took Jerax talk of their business at hand to bring her out of it. "Given the... rowdy events that transpired when you last went to the tavern I'd think it wise that we hit it well before night falls," she says sardonically, her obvious desire to avoid an another fight plain of her face. "Why risk having another bout with idiot fools, especially drunk ones."

Jerax Hellfire |

"Leaving them alone in the jail seems like asking for trouble. If we're going to be operating as law enforcement, we need to guard the prisoners appropriately. We've already seen some are willing to break the law to support the rebels, and a breakout of these miscreants would be a likely focus of their efforts."
"Slenk, you are as wise as you are short." The towering tiefling looks down at the free halfling chuckling, and shrugs. "Which doesn't speak well of myself, I imagine", Jerax smirked in a self-deprecating way, then sighs.
"I'd do it but I'd be worried about our number missing some muscle", the antipaladin said, quickly correcting himself, "not that this team doesn't already have considerable muscle already."The tiefling nods his head to Lily and Veda. "Reverend Vade, what do you think we should do?"
Alixus Vade |

”I would say first escort these rebels back to the sheriff’s office and imprison them.” He then turns to Cimri and says, ”I’d suggest you watch to make sure they do not escape while we post the rest of the messages,” he turns to the rest of of the party and says, ”Seems reasonable, does it not?”

GM Snowheart |

Cimri can't help a throaty laugh as Alixus suggests she watch the prisoners. "Oh, Reverend, that is some delicious irony. Me. Watching the former deputies. Imprisoned in their former jail. Guarded by their former prisoner." She guffaws, then blushes as she realizes she's babbling.
After collecting herself, she nods and says with a grin, "Yeah, I can watch them."

Jerax Hellfire |

"Well then", Jerax sighed, satisfied with the plan. "We head back to Bolgart's, take care of my tab, post the notice, then off to the church."

Slenk |

Slenk nods in agreement and says, "Jerax, I see you are still bleeding. Perhaps you should drink one of the potions we found at the jail. We are certainly their rightful owners now that we have taken on the role of jailers. And we know the sort that occupy Bolgart's"

Jerax Hellfire |

The tiefling winches as he checks the still bleeding cut above his eyebrow. "I suppose I better."
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The cut over Jerax's eyes seals completely and painlessly. "Hmm. That did the trick. The last couple days I've seen and experience more magic than I ever had. It's been both gratifying and invigorating!"
Jerax is really beginning to like Slenk as a person.

GM Snowheart |

Cimri grabs a length of rope from her back and ties up the deputies in something resembling a chain gang. "Alright then, good luck at the Last Stand... don't kill anyone I wouldn't kill. The rest of you, march! Time to get a look at the inside of your cells!" Making the healthier deputies assist their wounded or unconscious colleagues, she takes them off in the direction of the jail, whistling a merry tune to herself.
========
At the Last Stand, there isn't much activity outside the tavern, but even from a distance you can tell there are patrons inside enjoying a late breakfast or early lunch.
