I made a mistake when describing what happened with Avi's grease spell. I can't explain why at this point, other than to say that the result would necessarily have been exactly the same--but for a different reason. I don't like the inelegance of ret-conning the description, so I hope you'll be willing to suspend your disbelief a little if it becomes necessary later in the encounter.

Everyone: in the interests of fairness, and since it was my boo-boo, please assume your PCs now realise (after the sleep hex failed to materialise at all) that there's some sort of anti-magic field around the Secure Market and that only a cosmic fluke (or sloppy GMing) would allow spells, magic items, and supernatural abilities to work. [This was the info that Torch would have told you if you had stuck around a bit longer.]

I'm pretty sure this encounter won't last much longer--you've just had some low dice rolls and the positioning was awkward.

BTW I really can't get my head around how flanking works from within the enemies square and the rogue ability doesn't clarify things at all.

Then you probably don’t provide or benefit from flanking while in an opponent’s space. :-(

A swashbuckler archetype with a somewhat-similar ability (Mouser) specifically states that the Mouser and all adjacent allies are considered flanking.

Thanks for playing, everyone. I enjoyed your characters and the quality role-playing you brought to the table. I will now report this session and start filling out the Chronicles. If you have any last things I need to put on the Chronicles (day job checks, faction cards, etc.) please tell me ASAP.

Regarding the Chronicles, you succeeded on the primary success condition (retrieving all four of the statues) and on the secondary success condition (you didn't activate any of the statues and didn't set fire to the refinery--though if Gillie's bomb radius had touched the edge of one of the vats, then . . . inferno!).

You obtain access to all the items on the Chronicle within your tier. In terms of gold, this is one of those Season Zero scenarios that's kind of a jerk. By doing the right thing and not taking everything in Nasir's lockbox, you lose out on some of the gold rewards. The scenario reckons "That’s the price of honesty." Sorry!

There is only one "boon" on the Chronicle--that you owe Grandmaster Torch a favor. "When he calls in this favor, you are obligated to fulfill his request so long as it doesn't violate any moral restrictions of your race, class, or alignment." So watch out!

I'm hoping to get the Chronicles ready for you within the next couple of days, and I'll post the download link here when they're ready.
