Yea, but no matter what there will be holes you have to fill with creativity and imagination.

Absolutely, also Wild Shape is fun
And very versatile. That is one of the things I like about druids, they are versatile and I usually keep an open spell slot when I play one because of all the niche spells.

Regarding negative levels: After 24 hours he needs to make a save. On a success, the negative level goes away with no harm to the creature. On a failure, the negative level becomes permanent. A separate saving throw is required for each negative level.
Though now I am wondering if he should have gotten a save up front as well. This is new stuff for me as a GM.
To be fair, the creature's stat block would indicate if there's a saving throw for each attack. 2 levels of energy drain is a bit much though.
The problem now is that this is a death sentence for Urah. I'm making the saves at a -6 penalty before it reduces.
I need to know if the negative levels are temporary or permanent.
A creature with temporary negative levels receives a new saving throw to remove the negative level each day. The DC of this save is the same as the effect that caused the negative levels.
Fort saves (with any other buffs would be nice.)
1st save 1d20 + 4 - 6 ⇒ (20) + 4 - 6 = 18
2nd save 1d20 + 4 - 6 ⇒ (9) + 4 - 6 = 7
3rd save 1d20 + 4 - 6 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 6 = 3
4th save 1d20 + 4 - 6 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 6 = 3
5th save 1d20 + 4 - 6 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 6 = 14
6th save 1d20 + 4 - 6 ⇒ (20) + 4 - 6 = 18
I found a good source on it, Check out the rules on energy drain. So no save when hit, and saves on the next day. With those rolls you are at -4 permanent levels and in desperate need of a cleric and a bunch of cash. Yes, negative levels (particularly energy drain) are NAAaaassty. According to the rules on energy drain, on a failure to save, the negative level becomes permanent. This is specific to the energy drain and makes the negative level more nasty as there are not repeated saves.
If you can get a buff that lasts 24 hours for +2 you can save yourself one level.
By the way, always make your rolls in gameplay, not discussion. You can leave it this time; heck, sometimes I make the same mistake, but try to make your rolls in gameplay as a habit.

I'll make those rolls again in gameplay.
Just showing that Urah is unlikely to make those saves with a -6 hanging over him.
Not likely to get the cash or spells either. In most cases, I'll write this one off.
Once you are in Katapesh you will be able to take care of it, particularly if you all pick up some decent loot, which I have no doubt you will. What this does mean, however, is that on your trip to Katapesh Urah will be severely crippled.

Not a big deal. Wealth is reset at every level so there are normally no long-term consequences from how you use the cash earned between level ups.

Urah can help with a casting of Mage Armor and, when he gets to level 3, clayskin.
Alternatively, get a suit of armor that matches your favorite combat form and have someone put it on you.
Barkskin is an absolutely awesome spell, and ironskin is even better for the short term. Resinous skin gives some DR.
An amulet of natural armor can be worn while in animal shape.

Mage armor, I didn’t realize that wasn’t self only.
Suppose it isn’t too many levels until I can afford some Wild armor
Yes, Wild Armor is standard fare for Druids for that very reason. But with the lousy ACs animals have (for the most part), you really need to do something to protect yourself if you are going to fight as one. I see your AC changed to 21. I do not think you've cast barkskin yet, so until your post it is still 18, right?

Shouldn’t be, I replaced that with mighty fists this level hoping to depend on Barkskin (or iron skins) for my enhancement bonus to NA.
I only see the mighty fists on it.
