Pathfinder System.
Theme our world, Earth, a month after the zombies have taken over.

I am open to stories of how you survived. How you were accidentally sent from Golarion. Or any other craziness.

I want each of you to have a major and minor goal.

Stat generation: Roll 3d6, 7 times, dont use the lowest one. Then pick your class.
Race has to be a standard 10 RP race.

Pathfinder books only allowed.
Wealth: Roll... if from Earth try the roll then x $100.

Thinking of playing a gunslinger from Earth... how would modern guns work?
Or maybe a Vampire Hunter if you'd allow it(Technically Paizo, but a little fuzzy. In a book called "The world of vampire D")
(Also, as an aside, I can't seem to get the format for rolling dice right. Some help would be appreciated)

[Dice]1d6[dice]
Add the / before the second word 'dice'. At the bottom of your page you should see: 'How to format your text' click on the box next to it that says 'show'.

Do you have a link for me to see Vampire Hunter?
A gunslinger would make sense.
Campaign setting for guns: 'Guns are everywhere', though it might be limited in which country you start in.
Modern guns work as they do in real life, you may need to help me with the mechanics:
Aiming and taking a shot with a modern gun would have at least +4. Using a 3 burst shot would make it less effective to +3. Then automatic would have no bonus.

Reloading is based on how you so it. A single round into the bore of a shotgun or rifle would be a swift action. Whereas releasing and reloading a magazine would be a move action.

I hoped that answered your question. I will do some mote research on modern guns.

Recruitment will stay open until we have at least 6 players, people always drop out so we likely will have a group of 4.

1. Thanks for the help on the dice.
Test: 1d6 ⇒ 2

2. https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/base-classes/vampire-hunter/

3. Yes, that does answer my question. Thanks!

4. Stats:
3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) = 6
3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 5) = 8
3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2) = 12
3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4) = 12

Yuck. 2 point buy. Oh well.

5. Starting wealth(I'm going to make some purchases in GP form and some in $ if that's alright. Things like prestatted guns I'll buy with GP)

5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 6, 4) = 16

Backstory should be up in a few days at the latest.

Liberty's Edge

Hey Wolf! It sounds like an interesting game idea. I am torn between being an undead hunter (ranger) or being really weird and playing a necromancer!!
Will roll first and see how things go...

3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) = 8
3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6) = 15
3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) = 9

Pretty average...but useable!!

For some reason I can't log into the account I was using anymore, so now I'm using this one.

This is Grifferthrydwy's character.

How do I add to the characters page? Or do you have to do that?

I'm also thinking that I'll use a hunting rifle to start.

Maybe: $750 1d12 P+B 20/x4 holds 8 bullets 200 ft range increment

Also maybe modern guns shouldn't misfire unless you don't take proper care of them. I don't know, just suggestions.

3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) = 8
3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1) = 6
3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4) = 15
3d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 6) = 13

Love rolling! And the final result isn’t half bad. 14 pt buy lol

I got 2 pt buy. ='<

I will let you either add 2 to three ability scores or reroll.

I am hoping for specialized classes vs undead, that would make sense.

You can be any alignment.

Each of you will get to make one NPC to go with you and determine how they are connected to you, mostly they are your support. A bard writing your tales, a cook making sure you are fed, a stable hand to hold your mount, a squire aspiring to learn from you, etc.

We are going to start you off at 3rd level.

Well it depends on the gun, most automatic guns jamm pretty easily and that would be a misfire.

Hugh you only get to start with a gun from Earth if you are from Earth. Also explain why you were summoned to the mansion for the magical ritual.

Grand Lodge

interested....let's see what rolls i get....

roll: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1) = 8
roll: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 5) = 15
roll: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3) = 13
roll: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6) = 14
roll: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4) = 12
roll: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4) = 13
roll: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3) = 12

Workable....have an idea for a warrior/priest type...what is the roll for loot? no access to books atm...forgit to transfer them to my phone...

I love zombie apocalypses, so let's see what we roll.

3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6) = 11
3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3) = 11
3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5) = 17
3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 1) = 4
3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4) = 11

...ooooof. Even dropping that 4 that's not ideal. Might be able to do something with it, but I'd better go for a SAD class.

Vampire Hunter is acceptable.
5d6 × 10 gp (average 175 gp). I believe grimdog73.

Grand Lodge

ok...rough concept of character...a follower of Sarenrae or Pharasma(haven't decided yet) who had a "calling" during a meditation session. Goddess said he was needed somewhere he can help with his knowledge of killing the undead. going martial cleric...a smash first, heal after kind of type...

Sounds great!

Sarenrae cleric of the sun, necromancer, vampire hunter, and if the theme doesn't get taken by a new character I will bring in LN cleric of Death.

3d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5, 2) + 2 = 12
3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1) = 6
3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6) = 10
3d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3, 6) + 2 = 13
3d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 3, 5) + 2 = 16
3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1) = 5

And then there was no more interest... How are your backgrounds coming along? Any questions? If you give me some stats for your NPCs I want to help! Or give me ideas and I can flesh them out or give them stats.

Possible Cleric of Death coming in!
12 str
9 dex
6 con
10 int
13 wis
16 cha

Scythe, death and life domains possibly. Coming in as a tank for the group. Heaviest medium armor possible. Or should I go oracle?

Grand Lodge

will have more later tonight...and npc concept

Grand Lodge

what are the guidelines for the NPC? stats/class/etc.

starting loot

4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 1) = 10

100gp...joy!!

Since you are starting at 3rd level you would have 4,000 go to play with, I believe.

Your NPC can be any class, first come first served, though only one class for the group. So if Jelissa picked adept no one else could have adept for the class of their NPC also same goes for the role. Expert is always an option.

Your NPC starts at level 1, takes your rolled starting loot to get their wealth. You can always give them more out of your pocket. Go ahead and roll for them as well, same way. You may take the better of the sets. ;)

I'll add 2 to three stats(12, 12, 8) for a total of

10
10
10
10
14
14

I think I'll be playing a Trench Fighter.

I'll take commoner for my NPC.

Quick question... where is this mansion? As in what city?

I think I've changed my mind, I'm gonna go for a high end handgun.

1d10 x4 crit 8 capacity move action reload B+P extra +1 attack

Well that is the thing, each of you got a summons that snagged you into coming. You get to choose why. Thing of the mansion as Doctor Strange's magical house, with many doors to many places. It is in many cities and even other worlds, as it looks like most of you will be coming from Golarion.

I'm back to using a rifle then I guess. Got a good idea for how my character came to the mansion.
GM, I've PM'ed you my idea.

Okay everyone check in please. It looks like their is minimal interest and we may start once you have your characters done.

Are we using Automatic bonus progression seeing as we can't get magic items on Earth (I assume)?

Nope and nope. Magic items will be available they will just be scarce. You can also make them.

Ok. How should I submit my stats? I used Pathbuilder for the character sheet.

PF 1? If so, I'm interested

Interest peaked. Albeit if there is still room.

For the sake of expedience and curiosity:
3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5) = 17
3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 6) = 14
3d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 2) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4) = 14
3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4) = 11

Overall rolls came out to be 17, 14, 14, 11, 11, and 9.

Hugh, click on your name. Then click on profile. Then create profile. If you are using a phone you may need to turn the phone sideways to see the button. There you can paste your information or make a link to your crunch.

Yes pathfinder rules, not 2.0.

We have had some interest but only one character made so far. I would like to have 3 more at least. Lucky Halfling those are pretty good stats considering!

Rolling
3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6) = 14
3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4) = 12
3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 4) = 7
3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1) = 5
3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1) = 6
3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4) = 9

Overall rolls came out to be 13, 14, 12, 7, 6, and 9.

I'm thinking of playing a Kitsune Infernal/Undead Crossblooded Sorcerer 1/Geisha Bard 2

My assistant would be an expert.

3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1) = 6
NPC Wealth: 60gp

3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6) = 11
3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) = 9
3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2) = 8
3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6) = 11
3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) = 12
3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4) = 13
3d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5) = 11
NPC Final Stats: 11, 9, 11, 12, 13, 11

Seeing as there is some more interest in this campaign, I think I'm gonna drop out. I don't think play-by-posts are for me.

Good luck Hugh! I hope you find a game that fits you.

Well with Hugh gone it looks like we only have one player... SmooshieBanana. I will PM the other applicants and see if there is still any interest.

Ready and willing!

I hope this character meets with your approval.

I think Sona is a great fit! Now if only we can find a few more players...

Hey wolf checking in from other game. I like games like this and your games are pretty sweet. I will/should have time to come up with something tomorrow.

Awesome Ashe! Sona is waiting for other players once we have 4 we will start.

Are we allowed to take drawbacks for an additional trait?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Oh yes please!
A few other things to add:
Background skills: 2 per level
Background feat: Every even level (like skilled, magic item creation feats, etc.) Crafting will likely be a massive help in this game.
You may take up to 2 drawbacks for an additional trait each.

Feat tax adjustments are acceptable, I know there are a lot of questions concerning this and ask all your questions!

I was going to leave it a surprise but since it will happen right at the beginning of the game and people have been complaining of such low rolls: You will be gaining one of three huge boosts to start off the game at the mansion.
Boost Type 1: It can be adding a template CR 2 or lower to your character, gaining a super power of some sort (think x men), gaining paragon for your race, and I will welcome other suggestions too.
Boost Type 2: Gain a magical item worth 10,000 or less. It can be hand crafted, so adding special bonuses onto an existing item.
Boost Type 3: Spirit Animal... need I say more.

To give you a view into your base enemies:
Zombies, zombies, zombies, fast zombies, zombies, wights, radioactive zombies, ghouls, fire zombies, hunters, lickers, witches, vampires, tanks, oh my!
There are also the infected: Feral raging humans who gain claw attacks, grab, and bite. Which will be the second most common threat.

Safe Havens will be far and few between. You might even want to make a settlement and collect survivors. Though you know of a horde nearby and won't want to make a settlement until a natural barrier is between you and them, unless you got some major bombs...

If you can't tell I have been thinking on this a lot!

Sona we could easily start up the gameplay thread and slowly add the other players when they are ready. You could explore the mansion some. Or we can wait, your choice. :)

That's pretty cool. My stats are dire for my playstyle, since I don't like to minmax (I was so sad going through skills and putting so many zero's) so this is nice. I will almost certainly go for the Template, to give my sad stats a much-needed boost.

When you say Feat Taxes are adjustable, are you talking about the Elephant in the Room or The World is Square houserules?

I am alright with that. Let me sift out these details with your new post and I'll be quite ready.

Excellent question, I haven't seen The World is Squate houserules before but they make even more sense. So we will go with them.

Sona, I am going to bed, I will get it up and running tomorrow.

3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3) = 10
3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1) = 11
3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4) = 15
3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6) = 15
3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6) = 17
3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4) = 15
3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3) = 11

17, 15, 15, 15, 11, 11

Templates you say. Lets go look.

I was tempted with molecular control super powers and the ability to be insubstantial. My rolls were so bad I probably need a template to not play a completely odd person

Nice rolls Ashe!

Wolf sent you a PM about templates. I may not have much time tomorrow. Have meeting in the morning then and afternoon interview. I'm traveling Saturday so may not get something together until Monday.
