Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Here you have the Chronicles for PFS. Enjoy! :)

As we begin Chapter 2 - Beyond the Colony, I think it would be a good point to think a bit about how the campaign is going so I can try to make it more enjoyable for everyone. Some of the stuff I am looking for are:
- Pace: fast? slow?
- Playing momentum: Did you feel compelled to post by the events or did you need a bit of effort at times to place a post?
- Tone and style: scenes presented are interesting? feels like math? too much detail?
- Communication: Are absences, exceptions and expectations properly communicated?
- Accommodation: Have you felt comfortable, well received and part of the group?
- Fairness: When it comes to corner cases and confusing situations, how do you feel the rules are applied to the group?
- Attention to detail: do I forget about details of your posts?
- Character and story: Have you felt opportunities for your character to develop and found space to roleplay and engage with the story?
- Mapping system: can you access to it easily and keep track of events and position without confusion?
- Combat: combats where interesting? too many? too little? too long? too easy/difficult? enough opportunities to resolve combats non violently?
- Any moment you enjoyed particularly or made you feel uncomfortable?

No need to answer everything, but feedback is appreciated. If you feel more comfortable answering to something in particular more privately, please send me a PM.

Cheers!

none of the items on the list are ones I need to take.

I don't have any specific feedback, but i think things have been going well! it feels like we're at a good pace. I am probably the slowest player right now, there is a lot going on IRL, but i haven't felt out of the game either.

Female Human Inquisitor 7 | HP:52 | AC:20 TAC:13 CMB: +6 CMD: 20 | Fort+7 Ref+7 Will+8 | Init +5 Perception +12 | Hero Points: 3

In a similar place as Jonah, I don't think I have anything specific to give feedback on - I'm enjoying the game, the posting rate I can keep up with, and given everything that's happening IRL it's a massively welcome distraction; Thankyou for keeping it going!

As a group as well, I like how we work and RP together even with the wild differences between the characters, we've gelled quite nicely.

I'll go over the treasure sheet again at some point now that everyone's had a look and picked/passed - Tonny if you want the masterwork studded over the masterwork leather let me know, and as no-one really seems to want it I'm gonna put it to a vote - should one of us have the magic missile proof brooch or do we sell it for gold?

Male Gnome Nature Oracle 3 Unchained Barbarian 2| HP: 32/45 temp HP: 0 3 NL damage| AC: 19 (20) T: 15 (16) FF: 15 (16) bracketed numbers are in melee vs size medium+ | Saves F:6 R:0 W:3 | Init: -1 | Perc: 10 (low-light)| CMB: 4 CMD:18 | Speed: 20 ft | conditions: none

Feedback: Good so far!

Minor issue: I haven't been able to buy any equipment, because I don't know how much money we have or are getting.

The only other thing is that it seems like we can't take action about the news of the shipwreck (Ingolf want's to go right away and help out).

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

It probably made more sense for you to rush to the shipwreck, but I decided to go first with the Council scene so you have all the info and resources for this new chapter.

By the end of this scene you will receive a relevant sum of gold, including what Adriana has set for selling, I think you will have a bit more than 1500 gp each of you for spending.

Additionally you are to receive one +1 chain shirt for the party.

I inform you before hand so you can start preparing your buying for after the Council and deciding what you might need for your next adventure.

I'm loving the momentum and the overall speed of the game. A lot of games get bogged down but we have a group who sees to be capable of doing the talky bits even while the adventuring is going on so that really helps that sometimes-awkward divide.

I feel like I'm liking Splits as a character, the interactions are really fun and I'm liking being bound to some code of conduct, it makes it interesting for me.

The mapping is very slick, and the combats are great and tense.

I think as a whole everything is fair and I have little complaint if any.

@GM how much down time did we get between the storm's passing and our current meeting? I'm working on what Adriana would have done with her free time to try and attempt to explain some of her stats within the game itself.

Everyone else - last item left standing is the Brooch of Shielding, does anyone want to claim it or are we putting it in the sell pile?

Currently, with a quick scan, we look to have made about 1248GP*. That doesn't include the 250GP for saving the town (I think we each get that) and doesn't include the Brooch since it's still up to be claimed. If we sell it it puts us at 1998GP* which is pretty solid even split 5 ways and should cover all our current spending.

*Please review my math

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

This is your second day of rest.

I'll get a post up later this evening, have an anniversary today.

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

That's good enjoy!

I wanted to say that this part of the module is very dependent on player initiative. It is a sandbox, which means you have total freedom to engage problems in whatever order you wish, and to even explore areas that are not noted. All within the limits which in this case is the Korir River Delta map.

This means in this case it is more difficult for me the GM to push you as you are really the ones marking direction and pace. I do know PbP is not the best of the systems to discuss decisions as a group, and I know many of you might not feel comfortable taking decisions for the group, but I do invite you to try out.

I think if a couple of people sets the group towards a goal, we will go with that, unless one people suggests another option. In order to avoid bogging down the game.

Also, a couple of changes I want to make during this phase. First, because it is more difficult to tell when you should level up, I will be handing XP during this part of the adventure. It has been a time since I made it last, but I want to give it a try, as I think it will fit better in this case.

Finally, I always hand wave food, but I think it might be interesting to track it down during this part of the adventure, if only for a change. If you find out it becomes overwhelming and tedious, please let me know and we will find an alternative. I want to give it a try.

M Human Druid (Restorer) 5 - HP 36/37 - LF HP 27/28 - AC 16 - TAC 12 - FF 14 - CMD 14 - Init +6 - Fort +5 - Ref +3 - Will +8 (+2 storm effects) - Perc +15 - SM +18 - Wind 8/8 - Wild Shape 1/1 - Hero Points 3/3 - CLW 21/50

We can track food, I am interested in trying, although with Goodberry it sort of becomes trivial... Would that be an issue?

I really don't know how to spend my money, but with that boon I can scribe a second level scroll. I'm thinking of Gust of Wind in case of Swarms. If there are any ideas let me know.

The purchase limit is 1000 gp, does that mean we can only still pull from that list you rolled a couple pages back?

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

You are probably right Splits, having easy access to goodberry is going to mean this is not an issue. Still, you will have to devote a level 1 spell (or two) to it every few days. Not to mention getting very bored at feeding only from berries :)

As about the equipment, I think one of the interesting parts of this setting is you are in a frontier, barely developed land, which means you are much at your hands without access to common services and equipment. It is part of the difficulty and you can see it as a small increase in the CR of the encounters.

Still, at this level most of the items you would like to buy are still less than 1000 gp, and if needed, you have plenty of time to order items to Eleder or craft them yourselves.

I will add at the Campaign Info tab a permanent link to the available equipment post.

Human Ranger 8| HP 47/53 | AC 19/14/15| CMB +10| CMD 24| F +8| R +11| W +6| Init +4 Per +12| Longbow +15 (1d8) arrow count: 17 regular, 16 +1

I'm good with going to the shipwreck first. what do you all think?

I'm good with going to the shipwreck.

Ingolf is going to buy a small masterwork Lucerne Hammer and a small masterwork chain shirt (I'm presuming that the +1 chain shirt is medium sized).

Do we want to pool some money for a wand of cure light wounds?

Female Human Inquisitor 7 | HP:52 | AC:20 TAC:13 CMB: +6 CMD: 20 | Fort+7 Ref+7 Will+8 | Init +5 Perception +12 | Hero Points: 3

I'll put some gold towards a wand, always useful.

I think tomorrow unless somebody claims it, we'll count the Shielding Brooch as part of the stuff being sold off and I'll do some maths to see what everyone's split comes to, add a little more gold to everyone's pile so we can start arguing with GM about what we want to buy! (A joke, please don't argue with the GM)

Maybe a quick shop for supplies before we go shipwreck diving?

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

The +1 chain shirt would be Medium. But if only Ingolf is interested on it, Vethorn Valgardson could refit it to small for 100 gold pieces (the cost of the base armor).

Note other clothing and jewels (mainly anything not a weapon or armor) magically refits to the wearers size.

Please include any items you buy in the tab with your character name in the treasure sheet. Let me know if it is not clear where or how to do this.

Banker Baldra Sifreth will probably have one or two well saved wands of cure light wounds at the Countinghouse of Abadar.

Female Human Inquisitor 7 | HP:52 | AC:20 TAC:13 CMB: +6 CMD: 20 | Fort+7 Ref+7 Will+8 | Init +5 Perception +12 | Hero Points: 3

Might be a day or two behind, have some IRL stuff to sort out and it needs all my attention. If it's needed I don't mind being NPC'd I just don't want to hold things up. If I'm very lucky, it might not take that long, but we'll see I guess.

Nobody's claimed it so the Shielding Brooch can go onto the sell pile. I'll try and have that sorted when I get back, GM I'll try to have a shopping list for you at some point for the shipwreck stuff.

M Human Druid (Restorer) 5 - HP 36/37 - LF HP 27/28 - AC 16 - TAC 12 - FF 14 - CMD 14 - Init +6 - Fort +5 - Ref +3 - Will +8 (+2 storm effects) - Perc +15 - SM +18 - Wind 8/8 - Wild Shape 1/1 - Hero Points 3/3 - CLW 21/50

I'm fine with pitching for a wand of cure light wounds. I'll probably just spend my money on another Pearl if they're available (exactly 1k) and a 1st level scroll; playing up the caster angle as heavily as possible.

@GM Rutseg: When will I be able to train/bind/capture/summon (?) my familiar? Should we do it offscreen or?

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

We will manage this just now, thanks for reminding me Splits.

Female Human Inquisitor 7 | HP:52 | AC:20 TAC:13 CMB: +6 CMD: 20 | Fort+7 Ref+7 Will+8 | Init +5 Perception +12 | Hero Points: 3

Well that was something. But at least I can get back to this.

So doing some math* since nobody's claimed the Brooch of Shielding, the treasure haul comes to 2148 GP and divided by 5 with rounding means we get 429 GP each, on top of the 1250 we got from the count. Not a bad haul!

Not sure what I'll spend my gold on yet since I want to not hold up the gameplay thread but at the very least some rations and rope, if we don't have rope already. Adriana can create water as a cantrip and is a spontaneous caster so no need to prep. Woo!

*Math subject to double checking

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

According to the Selling cell (B5) you have a total gp 8.499,10 that splits into gp 1.699,82 each (B13). Maybe you did not consider the coin and gems in your numbers?

Female Human Inquisitor 7 | HP:52 | AC:20 TAC:13 CMB: +6 CMD: 20 | Fort+7 Ref+7 Will+8 | Init +5 Perception +12 | Hero Points: 3

I did skip the 1250 we got from Count Narsus but I must have missed a couple of the others. And that is why we double check the loot sheets!

Even with the extra gold I still don't have an idea of what she'll be buying just yet - perhaps in the future she'll pay to have something enchanted if that's doable in the town, otherwise I'll try to have a list of things for you soon to make up for the missed days.

M Human Druid (Restorer) 5 - HP 36/37 - LF HP 27/28 - AC 16 - TAC 12 - FF 14 - CMD 14 - Init +6 - Fort +5 - Ref +3 - Will +8 (+2 storm effects) - Perc +15 - SM +18 - Wind 8/8 - Wild Shape 1/1 - Hero Points 3/3 - CLW 21/50

So with 1699.82 each I'll be probably deducting the following:

Masterwork Lamellar (Light): 210 GP
Pearl of Power I: 1000 GP
Scroll of Speak With Animals (Scribed): 12.5 GP
Scroll of Goodberry (Scribed): 12.5
Wand of Cure Light Wounds (Divided 5 Ways?): 150 GP
Druid Tithes (For Flavour, 10%): 169 GP
Focus Rings: 50 GP

Remaining: 95.82

I can pitch more to the wands if you like, as again, I don't really use much gold.

Math should check out, I'll update the Loot Sheet and my section once we finalize everything.

Female Human Inquisitor 7 | HP:52 | AC:20 TAC:13 CMB: +6 CMD: 20 | Fort+7 Ref+7 Will+8 | Init +5 Perception +12 | Hero Points: 3

Keep forgetting that there's book restrictions so my shopping list has been reworked a couple of times - what I think is in one book turns out to be in another. I just want to spend my gold...

I will throw in my share for the CLW wand (150) and we can decide who gets it later on.

A quick list so far -

Masterwork Backpack (useful since we're carrying rations and gear) - 50gp
Another vial of Alchemist's Fire (Good vs Swarms) 50 gp
Everburning Torch (If available) 110gp

Looking at a Wayfinder if it's in the right books, hoping to have a proper list before the weekend is out.

If you can confirm, she would not be staggered right now.

Alright my internet dropped my post a couple of times but it seems to be holding now.

Did Jonah kill the yellow sea-zombie? If it's dead Adriana will move to join the melee with Ingolf and the others.

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Nope, due to cover and no Point Blank Shot distance, only one of Jonah's arrows scored a hit. The aisge is still "alive".

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Zombie party in the beach :)

Tonny, I will need clarification on what are the bodyguard rolls and how they do work.

for Rosemary, she really doesn't have much HP. until level 4 she is stuck with only half HP of a normal companion, and didn't get another HD at level 3. so yeah she's real squishy right now, but will suddenly be much more viable next level

After enough strings of rolls eventually it will happen right? They say that if stuff didn't happen like that it isn't real random number generation (and is a weighted roll).

Figured it was my (un)lucky day.

Dealing with some IRL stuff, nothing serious but a huge time waster, but Adriana will offer healing to who needs it, and also did we have a cure wand? I might be mixing up my games but I could swear we had a cure wand in our loot pile.

We had a 13 charge one, I pitched 150 for another one. We never actually confirmed any of the purchases so I've been going on the assumption we don't have it.

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

According to the treasure sheet you have the wand you took from the lizardfolk druid, and Ingolf reserved 250 gp for another one.

A search on the Discussion thread also brings up Splits and Adriana reserved 150 golds for a wand. So you basically only needed 200 golds more to buy one back at Pridon's Hearth.

I encourage you to write down in your character tab in the treasure sheet your purchases, because as time passes it becomes increasingly tough to search through posts to see where you spent your money on.

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Hi there! Is there some confusion about how to move forward?

Looks like Jonah needs some healing, but Ingolf is out of spells.

I'm not sure if we should be trying to excavate the ruins or not. I guess our other option is to return to the settlement.

The fact that there's a DC means that we can, but I also feel like we're kind of running in one spot (I was also working all day and just got home, it seems we're on very different timezones).

So the post I made yesterday must have dropped - probably my end, internet/computer issues all over the place - but I wanted to say when we camp, I have the Keep Watch spell which is super useful and I always try to have a slot available for it, and I think I can do two people at level 3, so next time we camp we can have a super effective watch.

Turns out I haven't been paying attention to things because it's hurricane season! So far it's just wet and windy but if Adriana goes quiet then that'll be why. Anybody else living out here on the gulf, stay safe and dry!

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Wow, that sounds pain. I used to have a player in the boards that worked repairing electric lines. He regularly went missing by this part of the year, sunk on work.

Here in Spain natural disasters are fortunately reduced to floods and fires, I can also remember an earthquake in a small village in the south, but nothing like an earth shattering hurricane.

Take care and keep us informed once you are back online! :)

So far it's just rain and wind with occasional blackouts, it's not too bad where I am, but it floods super easy and sometimes that takes out utilities for longer than expected.

Right now the big issue is laggy internet, and given how laggy my 'net already is, there's probably gonna be double posts for a few days. Working on a post for today at least.

M Human Druid (Restorer) 5 - HP 36/37 - LF HP 27/28 - AC 16 - TAC 12 - FF 14 - CMD 14 - Init +6 - Fort +5 - Ref +3 - Will +8 (+2 storm effects) - Perc +15 - SM +18 - Wind 8/8 - Wild Shape 1/1 - Hero Points 3/3 - CLW 21/50

I'm making a note that in the future, I'm going to explicitly state that I cast Shield Companion when we begin going into dark and scary places.

Since it lasts 6 hours, it's usually always going to be up.

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Sorry for that, I totally forgot about shield companion, you certainly will do good to remind me when is active until it sinks deep into my head :)
