He reaches into the watering can and as it begins to fall away you can see he's holding a weapon!

Well, that REALLY showed him, the inner voice pipes in, snidely. And you're so MARVELLOUSLY keeping a low profile.

Go away, I'm busy, Saeron absently swats the bothersome nag, focusing her attention on the now armed gardener.

Still, the annoying sow had a point. With discretion out the window, they had to deal with this quickly.

"You should have listened to our warning," the slight lashunta says to the man. Focusing her thoughts to a needle point, she jabs her mental energies at the man's mind. Without waiting to see the results, Saeron seeks what cover she can behind a nearby cluster of desks.

I don't see myself on the map, but I will magic missile dmg: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1, 1) + 3 = 9 him. If I have to move to see him, then I only use 2 missiles.

Seeing the man retrieve a weapon from the watering can, Orrian looks around and exclaims "Whoa, friend, if you really don't want to help with this toilet I can find somebody else! No need for that!"

Not having an inconspicuous way to participate in this fight, Orrian will delay.

And probably plan on un-delaying once "self defense" can be justified.

The gardner shakes off the worst of the mental assault, but is then slammed by multiple flying bolts! He's heavily wounded but continues on!

At the gate, the woman reading the arrivals board dives over a bunch of chairs and lobs a grenade back the way she came.

Smoke billows forth!

Visor man also reaches into his jacket and pulls a pin on a smoke grenade.

The man who was mumbling away draws a pistol and starts firing into the crowd of passengers! People start rushing everywhere, panicked by the gunfire and smoke. Chaos has ensued in the busy port.

Panic: The panic that makes it harder to aim through the chaos of fleeing bystanders. Anyone taking the time to ensure their ranged attack doesn’t hit bystanders if they miss takes a –2 penalty to their attack roll.

Smoke: A smoke grenade deals no damage; instead, it releases a cloud of dense smoke. Each character who inhales smoke must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw each round (DC = 15 + 1 per previous check) or spend that round choking and coughing; he can do nothing else. Regardless of the armor a character wears, smoke obscures vision, granting concealment to anyone within it.

Ella quickly moves away from the billowing smoke and finds herself staring down the gardener. She quickly fires at him with her laser rifle.

EAC Attack (panic): 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 2 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Assuming Ella's shot hit and took out the gradener, Orrian will take the following actions. If the gardener was still standing, he would change his action to pull out his weapon while moving and shoot the gardener when he got a clear shot.

Seeing a smoke grenade go off, hearing gun and laser shots, and watching the crowd break into a general panic, Orrian figures the ruse has run its course.

He turns behind him to see a man Green firing a pistol into the crowd. Orrian moves through the poorly maintained shrubberies I'm counting them as difficult terrain for purposes of movement while pulling out his squad machinegun.

"STOP SHOOTING PEOPLE!" Orrian yells before firing his own machine gun at the man, taking care not to shoot any fleeing civilians.

Orrian has an ability and an item that might help with the penalty caused by the panicked crowd. His "sniper's aim" ability reduces the AC bonus granted by cover by 2, which might be applicable here. Additionally, his machine gun has a seeking weapon fusion, which negates any miss chance caused by the target having concealment other than total concealment. Not sure if either of those help Orrian avoid shooting passersby without sacrificing accuracy.

"I can't see the gate through all this smoke!" Saeron calls over the comms channel. "I'm moving toward the gate to keep an eye out for Tharsa."

Slipping her rifle from her shoulder as she moves, she adds, "I'll try to get this guy on my way past."

Lining up her shot as best as she can with all the civilians in the arrival area, she takes a shot.

With her previous target down, Ella circles back to the smoky chaos at the gate. She casts a spell on her rifle, causing it to light up and blink furiously. "Get down! Get away!" She waves at the many bystanders near the gate for them to clear out.

Cast Supercharge Weapon.

"No!" Saeron calls as the hapless bystander is struck by a shot intended for her. Reaching a hand toward the fallen body, she gathers her energies and sends them to the unlucky passenger. (Casts Stabilize)

Need to get away from the other passengers! she tells herself, before dashing into the smoke and toward the woman.

"Get down!" she yells at the nearby civilians. "Get away from here!"

Instead of retconning my last turn, since yellow's down I'll just go with shooting at Green.

Seeing a bystander drop from the gunfire, Orrian redoubles his efforts to protect innocents in what is now a very dangerous situation - by trying to take down the people shooting into the crowd as quickly as possible.

Down to only 5 SP Data sees mostly only the skin is peeled off and not the internal circuits or wires have been damage.

Ella yells as she's hit. She reaches out and grabs arcane power, twisting it, and molding it. Then she slams it back at the woman. Three points of light encircle her and then explode.

Ella screams as she's hit again. The Technomancer decides to try a different tactic. She weaves a spell, shouting, "Now, Tharsa! Hurry, while they're distracted!" Suddenly a gray skinned Kasatha sprints out from the gate and into the smoke. Ella retreats and takes cover behind some seats.

Casting Holographic Image. Then move and take cover.

"Sooner or later..." Orrian mutters as he fires two more times through the smoke at Orange.

In addition to the Seeking fusion getting rid of the smoke, I think Orrian's sharpshooting ability (to reduce AC granted by cover by 2) would apply if Orange is getting cover from the generic person they (might be) standing behind on the map. Still taking the -2 to avoid generic bystanders.

Saeron emerges from the cloud of smoke, crosses over before the gate doors and, compressing her mental energies to a fine needle's point, directs them at the woman's mind (red).

From where she is hiding, Ella launches a barrage of bolts at the man remaining.

The rain of magical bolts slams home and visor man also tumbles to the ground.

There is chaos and confusion at the spaceport, but you see Tharsa coming through the gate looking shocked and confused.

Tharsa requires very little further convincing to leave as she looks at the scene before her. The Starfinder team briskly escorts Tharsa out of the port and through Absalom Station, to the Golden Vault.

No doubt AbadarCorp will start making strides in the weapons trade industry, and the Starfinders have reassured them that the Society can be an ongoing ally to their interests.

Naiaj gets you all on comms "You made the best of a bad situation, commendable. I knew I sent the right team for the job, but our work isn't over yet - go get some sleep and refurbish your equipment, I'll be in touch in the morning".
