Spackle joins the others near the front. Taking stock of the situation. "Empty Kegs! How're'n suppose ta deal with this? I mean, I gots me an arrow with a grapplin' hook. Should we try ta pull one out?" The gnome knocks the three-pronged arrow and lets fly.

Spackle's special arrow hits one of the shark-men, but unfortunately the grapple doesn't catch.

From what I can tell, a grappling hook only grapples a living target if it's a critical hit. But I might be misunderstanding the grapple arrow, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I'm not sure where the d10 for damage comes from--my GoogleFu is weak today!

No idea how the grapple would have worked. It was just the only idea I had. The d10 damage is the orc hornbow from a Chronicle sheet. 2d6 for medium creatures. Only available to PFS characters on this particular chronicle.


No worries--I've marked down the damage. It was a good shot, especially since it had cover.

With the large prehistoric elephant mostly out of the way, Bom and Ulfur advance, but seeing Dat is unharmed, decides not to interfere unless called upon.

The little Mephit flies over the head of his halfling ally and give him a small wave before attempting a salvo of his own at the injured shark-man.

The impetuous Mephit flies over Hal's head wand in hand.

Bom sees the narrow passage and as he is about to enter, he hears Xilt's warning and decides, he'll wait until the wizard says its safe to enter.

The shark-man is badly hurt from the mephit's magical attack. As Deldri moves deeper into the room, the tubular creature doesn't react, but the shark-man hurls his spear and hits the gnome in the abdomen!

Deldri, you take 9 points of damage and need to roll a DC 15 Fortitude save vs. poison.

Xilt:
In character, it must take ancient, unknown magic of a powerful nature to suspend the air tunnel in water while allowing creatures to pass back and forth without hindrance. You can only guess whether it's stable or not. Out of character, the module doesn't say anything about how it was done--a classic "a wizard did it" sort of thing.

The shark-man had a readied action to throw the spear if anything came within the range increment. Since Bom delayed, he'll use his move action on his turn to draw another spear.

Dat points his flingers like spears trying to strike the jelly like body of the creature.

The shark-man stabs at Ulfur as the wolf jumps into the fray, but the animal twists in mid-air and avoids the strike! Ulfur then bites down hard on the fish-monster's leg, and more blood spurts into the water. The creature is barely standing. Fortunately for it, Bom's longsword swing loses momentum when it connects with the water and misses.

Meanwhile, Dat decides to attack the sedate tubular sea creature! His attacks pierce the creature's flesh easily.

The Adaro's AoO against the wolf missed, the wolf's bite hit (even with the -2 penalty for piercing attacks from the "surface" to underwater), and Bom's longsword attack is blocked because it's a slashing weapon. The Adaro is bleeding from multiple wounds and barely conscious.

Dat, both your attacks hit. The giant sea anemone has a readied action from last round, but it hasn't been triggered yet.

Spackle, you're up and then it's the anemone's turn.

The Wizard chuckles in the background as the wand fizzles. He recalls an actual spell with his pearl of power and places the consumed pearl back in his pocket.

I delayed waiting for Xilt to indicate that the tunnel was safe, which is what he would have done on his turn, so I would have moved right after Xilt. To put it another way, I was simply waiting for you to resolve his K. check. Oh, I see you did not wait for Book to take his turn. So be it. That will be Ulfurs attack when it is his turn.


You took an action in Round 4 (moving in and attacking) from near the end of the order (Xilt was speaking as a free action out of turn), and we're now in Round 5 and your turn hasn't come up yet.

Hal's crossbow bolt drills into the strange sea creature, and it's waving tentacles become more and more feeble. Deldri swings his hammer at it, but the blow just bounces off the creature's flesh.
