Vargos shifts to the right-most witch and throws a couple of quick body blows.
Flurry of Blows 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 271d8 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Flurry of Blows 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 181d8 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18

That's one witch down. 1d8+14 is powerful enough to take down a 5th level witch in two blows.

Aren't the (surviving) witches on 22 init and Jonathan and Bedik on 20? ( Whisper is on a 13 and Vargos on 10) So what are the 2 remaining witches doing, having taken 20 odd damage apiece (11 from my Burst of Radiance, and Whisper and Bedik's attacks...)

The witches cast two fireball spells at the group, resulting in fireball damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4) = 11, and 2nd fireball damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2) = 9 save DC at 16 for half damage.

reflex save on 11 dmg: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Second Save
reflex save on 9 dmg: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
So 11+4 for a total of 15 damage. Jonathan is at 20/35 hp.
Jonathan continues to make space between himself and the rest of the group (moves another 30', so any burst that affects him will need to be at least a 30' radius to hit the others), and then casts a Magic Missile at the one Bedik hit.
Magic Missile Damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) + 3 = 12
