Hello all!
Glad to have you all along for the ride. I'm hoping it will be a fun experience for everyone involved.
To start off, I'm going to give everyone a day or so to finalize their crunch and populate their profile. It would also be very helpful to make sure you fill out your profile's Statline to make my job easier.
At the very least, it should include race, class, level, AC, HP, Saves, Perception and other senses.
Another thing I'm going to need from everyone is a complete equipment list posted here. It can be in a spoiler if you don't want everyone knowing what you have (or had, or will have, whatever).
As soon as you like, you can jump in on the gameplay thread. You can post your arrival in Port Peril if you'd like, otherwise the scene is set in the Formidably Maid, a well-known pirate tavern in the city of Port Peril. You can RP with each other as you like with a couple of caveats; One, sometime during the boisterous evening, you partook of either spiced rum or some of the tavern's famous spiced stew. Two, the pre-game RP will only last the single in-game night. The adventure will begin in earnest the next morning.
So with that, feel free to meet the other characters - or not; It's your choice.
Once I've squared away a couple of things and everyone's taken care of their own bookkeeping (crunch, stat-line, equipment list), I'll get the first story post up.
Oh, and don't forget to drop by the Discord channel.

Thank you for selecting me. Happy to be here and eager to join in! I will get things organized and put up a post Monday morning most likely.
I still might change my character's name before I start posting.
Azadi Freeman
Thanks for the pick! I’m excited for this. Ironically, Sundays are typically my busiest day of the week so it may take me a little bit to get everything set up, but I should have it all set by this afternoon/evening.
Equipment: leather armor, cestus, flask of alchemist’s fire (kineticists get monk starting wealth, lol)
edit: I just realized I’m the only male PC... I suddenly have this feeling I may end up being the foil for a lot of shenanigans...
Polli Andalaysa Bog IV
WooHoo! Thank you! I'll finish up the bits and bobs today and get a post in. My busy week is over (lego robotics competition with my youngest) so today is posting day... until my wife wakes up and then it becomes 'whatever she says it is' day :)
Tessa Steele
Hey guys! You may or may not have noticed that Harmony and I had a few gameplay posts going while we were waiting for the sorting hat to take care of you. Here's a quick vignette from our scene, you get one guess who's the star of this show.
Polli Andalaysa Bog IV
It kind of looks like the bartender is looking up Tessa's skirt :) but otherwise lovely sir.
Gear: scroll of windy escape (inscribed in the scroll belt), healer's kit (from trait), dagger (2), silver ring(arcane bond), backpack, hat(wide brimmed and floppy), ink, inkpen (2), leeching kit, her spellbook, paper (10), scroll belt, scroll box, small shears, spell component pouch, surgeon's tools, 3 gp, 3 sp

I've played a little of the first book, but we didn't make it far at all. Probably not even out of part one. It was years ago and I honestly don't remember anything past the initial starting scene.
Marisan Nkosi
I ran one table all the way through when it first came out. But that was years ago and I don't really remember too many details, just the broad strokes of plot arcs and such.
Polli Andalaysa Bog IV
None. I applied for one once but failed to get in.
GM Itzi
For the people that are at least kind of familiar with it; Do you feel that the Ship To Ship combat rules add enough to the game to warrant implementing them?
I'm on the fence, currently, and am considering hand-waving the majority of that. However, if anyone's looking forward to that portion of the adventure, then I won't do that.
I want people to have fun, after all. :)
Azadi Freeman
I played through part of book 1 a few years ago... I'm not sure how much of it we got through?
Either way I don't remember much in terms of specifics at all?
Tessa Steele
To be honest, I just can't remember them well enough to say one way or the other. However, as I'm doing in your Jade Regent regent, I tend to question specific rules that seem iffy or problematic for the PbP format and just make it worth with GM magic! I defer to your expertise.
Since Brainiac has rune the whole thing, they can probably chime in much better.
GM Itzi
You won't have to worry about anything specifically Ship-To-Ship in Book 1. That doesn't mean you won't be fighting on the ship (or ships). You just won't be in charge and won't have to worry about closing with the other ship, attacking with ship's weapons at a distance, ship maneuvering, piloting, etc.
Marisan Nkosi
The ship combat rules were tedious and bogged down play. After the first one or two times, we just hand-waved things.
Harmony Mai d'Valois
If it helps I know a lot about combat in the age of sail. :) I'd steer clear of the rules generally, they're often too complicated. Maybe just go for a simple Prof Sailor check for a +2 bonus or so to represent favourable positioning, and then just do attacks etc as normal?
Donomsail Lishoni
Everything I brought into the Formidably Maid with me: Trident, Sling/40 Bullets, Morningstar, Silver Holy Symbol of Gozreh, Hemp Rope, Backpack, Bedroll, Cleric Vestments, 3 Vials of Ink, 10 sheets of Parchment, 1 Pen and underneath her robe is Leather Armor. $= 43 gp 1 sp
Marisan Nkosi
Added gear. Dancer's garb, brawler's kit (without the rations), and that's all!
Tessa Steele
Sorry for the delay, wasn't feeling well last night.
Tessa's gear comprised of the following: studded leather, buckler, dagger, rapier, belt pouch, flint and steel, masterwork backpack, mess kit, soap, torch (10), trail rations (5), waterskin, wrist sheath (dagger), spring loaded, 22 gp, 9 sp.

Disclaimer:
Many of the sailors/pirates you'll be interacting are really not nice people and I plan to play them as such.
However, if anyone feels uncomfortable with any NPC's behavior or language or feels that I'm crossing a line in some other way, please let me know. Either mention it here (in Discussion), or if you don't feel comfortable doing that, PM me.
The goal is to show that some of these folks are filth - not to make anyone uncomfortable.

Any reaction from Donomsail is strictly within character. If the pirates don't act like Proper Pirates then she wants off this Disney ride and needs to get back to the real world post haste. Plus I see it as a great chance for some really great RP opportunities.
GM Itzi
Nope. The Disney (TM) pirates are over ... there ->.
And if you could put up at least a partial profile and statline, Donomsail, I would appreciate it (it makes my job so much easier). If you're not sure how, that's ok. There's more than enough experience with these boards spread out amongst the players we have to walk you through it if you need help. Just ask. :)
Tessa Steele
Tessa will gladly spread her.. Uhm experience around. Let me know if you need help.
Under your profile, you can use the lines such as classes/levels to put the info in. Tessa's is:
Swashbuckler 1 | HP: 11/11 | AC: 18, T:14, FF:14 | CMD: 15 | CMB: +1| Fort: +1 | Ref: +6: Will: -1*/+4 | Init: +6 | Perception: +4 | Panache: 3
Donomsail Lishoni
okay trying this out to see if I have her stat line up
Donomsail Lishoni
and this is take 2
Tessa Steele
Donomsail - You are putting it into the about section. That's where you should post your full statblock. You need to put it into the area where you have "Cleric/1".
Also, you don't need to post for it to take effect. Just refresh!
GM Itzi
In my profile I've added a link to a google spreadsheet that lists all the officers and crew of the Wyrmwood. I've indicated their names, gender, race, and job/title.
There's a spot for your standing with them, but that's currently blank and I'll fill that in and adjust it as the game goes on. There's also a spot for any of you to add notes or any other information.
It should be editable by anyone that can get to it.
Some of the names are links to their portraits.
Donomsail Lishoni
Thanks to all that helped me, nice to see a group that is willing to make sure that we all are having fun.
Polli Andalaysa Bog IV
Anytime sir. The only reason I didn't make Polli with a reduced strength was her beginning trait that made her a carpenter. I figured to be a decent woodworker she should at least have an average strength.
Tessa Steele
Giant Halfling and I finished created Azadi this afternoon. Here he is beating Tessa to the top of the ship during our climbing contest. Beginners luck...

More information about what can be done during the day, shipboard can now be found under the spoiler on the Campaign Tab.
As a summary: Each day you'll get a Day Action (which normally revolves around doing - or not doing - your daily job (some of which will provide bonuses to your chance to complete your task). And a Night Action. You can do additional Night Actions but at the cost of your rest and possible side effects.
You can choose from one of the Day Actions to assist (or replace) your daily job.
I'll put up an evening summary post once everyone has selected a Day Action and completed (or failed) their daily task. That'll most likely be tomorrow morning.
Marisan Nkosi
Check the Campaign Info tab, Harmony.
Marisan Nkosi
Marisan plans to entertain the crew tonight.

As mentioned in the game recruitment, and as is probably obvious to everyone so far, romance (and sex) are not subjects I shy away from in my games.
Love is out there for your character ... somewhere.
However, to make my job easier (and for love to possibly find you), I'm going to ask for each of you to let me know here (or through PM, if you'd really like to keep it a secret) which way your particular character swings.
Are they straight, gay, bi, poly, asexual, confused, unsure, etc ...
This will give me a means to potentially lay the groundwork for future romance for you, if you're inclined.
And, yes, Tessa, we all know you have your eye set on Sandara. Still ... humor me.
That doesn't mean that you won't get hit on by someone you're absolutely not interested in - these are pirates, after all. But it gives me fuel for future drama.

On another note, we're at 245 posts in eight days. That's an average of over thirty posts a day. That's amazing!
I want to say thanks to everyone so far for making this so enjoyable. I also want to give kudos to Donomsail for sticking with us - it can be pretty intimidating at times. These aren't lightweight, casual players you've joined ranks with, so don't be intimidated.
I don't know if we'll be able to keep this rate up, but it's been fun so far.
GM Itzi
One other note, by Day 3, you've interacted with enough people on the ship that you're aware of who likes you and who doesn't - at least insofar as to those whom you can alter their opinions of you.
Consequently, I've added your standings with everyone to the Crew list (along with Deluxe (TM) color coding).
In answer to the question, 'Do we really need to know who likes us and who doesn't on board this ship?'
Yes, yes you do.
I've also reiterated via a chart on the sheet, the DCs to influence someone with a given standing.
Azadi Freeman
Lol- ‘8 days’ includes the time Tessa and Harmony were in the bar without us... the game actually started on Sunday... they made 28 posts before Polli chimed in, so we just made 217 posts in 4 days (averaging over 50 posts per day)!
Regarding sexuality:
Azadi is fairly inexperienced, so ‘confused’ is maybe the most apt term (he had no idea that he was into two redheads together, but so far that’s really waking up the sea serpent). He’s definitely mostly straight, but at least somewhat poly... his parents were monogamous so his (unconsidered) idea of settling down is (at least for the time being) him and one woman, but before settling down he’s fairly open to trying things. He probably wouldn’t hook up with another man, though, unless there was at least one woman involved also. In terms of preferences- he’s most attracted to humans, elves, half-elves, sylphs/undine, and aasimar; he likes some curves but isnt crazy about women that might outweigh him (including especially muscly ones); and, obviously, he appreciates the (nearly) universally sought qualities like symmetry and proportion. His dad was blue, so he’s not really one to discriminate based on somone’s coloration (unless maybe it’s just a weird combo, like hair and skin that clash really badly or something). Did that answer all your questions?
Donomsail Lishoni
Domonsail is afraid of being with a man. It's not that she doesn't want to necessarily be with a man but she has that whole daughter/bride of a Devil thing running through her head every time she thinks of a man that way. She would need to have a guy who's really understanding and has a lot of patience. That being said she understands the need to have a "relaxing evening" every now and then and wouldn't kick any of the females out of her hammock for eating hardtack. She is drawn to those who have mixed heritage, the ones where it is noticeable that their parents are of different races/backgrounds.
Harmony Mai d'Valois
@Donomsail - woukd Harmony count? Her mismatched eyes are the universal sign of being a changeling (human/hag hybrid) so I'm curious about whether Donomsail would a. know or b. care.
(Harmony actually isn't a changeling but one of her mothers was and well, two girls don't have kids without magic.)
For the GM's benefit: Harmony is utterly asexual, with no interest at all in that sort of thing. If she did find someone she liked then it would only be after marriage, in a dark room with no light sources.
I'll let the rest of you know the real answer later ;)
Marisan Nkosi
Marisan is bisexual. She is attracted to people for who they are, not necessarily what they look like. She is straightforward in romantic matters like she is in most other things as well.
