Cool stuff. Though M'ara needs some hair.
Also, didn't see her complexion being quite so dark...and not quite so curvy.

Thanks

I recall the Shoanti prefer being bald (male and female alike).

So I went with no hair, as that is one of the hallmarks of the Shoanti.

and I followed your words

M'ara wrote:

M'ara is instantly recognizable as Shoanti

Can't get more recognizable then being bald like the rest of the Shoanti.

Now I've reduced the Hips some and found something a bit lighter in skin tone.

If you want a good start with Daz studio, there is currently a Genesis 2M starter bundle in the free bin.

I do recommend running Daz Studio on a system with 8GB or more of RAM, and a Nvidia GPU with 2GB or more of video Memory.

Thank you very much for the information. It seems like a good opportunity. I would love to, but I don't have the time (Or the hardware :P).

Take it while you can, so if you get time you can try it out.

I did manage to run it on a potato laptop with 8GB of RAM which seems to the the standard now a days, just stick to Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 characters and stuff..

Thanks for the clothing update! This would probably be what he would look like sitting in the common room of the inn, after stowing his cloak and gear in a room upstairs.

HP 13/13 | AC 16 (t13/ff13) | CMD 16 | F +4, R +5, W +2 | perception +6*; +3 initiative | active effects: --

So, is it just me and one of the Antons taking guard duty on the caravan?

Etna will be more of a cook and entertainer....

♀ Human Cleric of Shelyn

Livia will be the resident healer and also an entertainer, since she actually has a decent singing performance skill. I've actually considered taking a skill feat in performance as it suits her background story, though I'd have to give up some extra channeling per day to achieve it.

M Human Fighter (Two-Weapon Fighter) 1

This Anton will guard.

M Human Fighter (Weapon Master) 1 | HP 11/11 | AC 16 T 14 FF 12 | Fort +2 Ref +4 Will +2 | Init +10 | Perception +1

And this Anton will party with the Varisians.

Really too bad we don't have 5 Antons...we could make our own version of this nursery rhyme

Happy Samhain/Halloween/Reformation Day/Wednesday all.

Female Half Elf (Varisian) Witch/1

Going to be heading out for the weekend. Be back Sunday night for start.

I got the Height Reference Done
Now do note I tried it with the more official outfits of each member,
I did get it to render in under 26GB of RAM by cutting textures down to 1/16th of their original size,
but the GPU ran out of memory for processing.
So the Height reference had to be a swim suit edition like I thought.

Height Reference Swim Suit Edition.

Front Row Left -> Right
Delin 5'6"
Livia 5'8"
M'ara 5'10"
Zomeraand 5'10"

Backrow Left -> Right
Anton C 6'0
Lief 6'2"
Anton I 6'5"
Etna 6'6"

M Human Fighter (Two-Weapon Fighter) 1

Very cool!

Male Human Nerd 11

Hi!

Sorry for the delay, I got some work coming my way, and forgot about the festivities because of "Dia de Muertos".

We will continue shortly.

male

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to, hopefully, getting started soon.

Male Human Nerd 11

Ok, I think I got the start ready.
the first part is a cutscene. A glimpse into the things to come. Your characters aren't aware of that, but I like to set up the mood for us players.
Next, we have an intro for each one of your characters. I would like for you to read the intro of everybody, as I think it will help us start to know each other's characters.
By the way, if I mess up one of your intros, and you feel it needs correcting, please let me know.
Let play!

How tall is Aldern Foxglove?

Aldern was a handsome man, with medium-length brown hair and fair skin. He could often be seen wearing fine clothes befitting the aristocracy of Magnimar, whether hunting or carousing with women. Those who had the pleasure of conversing with Aldern typically found him charming, well-read and were often entertained by his seemingly endless cache of stories about the high life in Magnimar.

Let's say tall enough for her. If you want a more specific number, you can choose.
Image 1
Image 2

I Looked it up myself and did find an entry that listed 6 foot nothing.

Now Since GM didn't give a numerical height, I'll randomise one
Height(base 6 foot): 72 + 1d12 - 1d12 ⇒ 72 + (4) - (7) = 69
So 5 foot 9.

Male Human Nerd 11

Somewhat short, but sounds ok to me.

If the result was 5 foot 6, Etna would of been a full foot and or head taller then him.

And Ulfen are Big/Tall like
Ulfen Men 6'0" to 7'3"
Ulfen Women 5'9" to 7'0"

Male Human Wizard (Universalist) 1 l AC 16 T 13 FF 14 l HP 10/10 l F +1 R +2 W +3 l Init +2 l Perc +1

Delin hasn't checked in yet, and she's my Intro/hook partner.

Should I just retcon my post and introduce myself to another PC?

Male Human Nerd 11

Give her today, if not we will figure something out.
See it as her character has bad bedside manners... :P

Female Half Elf (Varisian) Witch/1

I have one weekend a month where I am away from home and get back tired on Sunday. It just happened to be exactly as we started this month.

Male Human Wizard (Universalist) 1 l AC 16 T 13 FF 14 l HP 10/10 l F +1 R +2 W +3 l Init +2 l Perc +1

Understandable. Hope you caught up on some sleep Sunday night. Glad you're still with us!

Female Half Elf (Varisian) Witch/1

Question for the DM, DOES the remains of the book I have mention the ruins near sandpoint?

Male Human Nerd 11

Your call. Maybe, maybe not. Maybe is so hard to translate you are not sure.

Female Half Elf (Varisian) Witch/1

Question for the DM: What language is the book written in? :3

Male Human Nerd 11
Delin Chiri wrote:

Taldene (Common). It uses a lot of Thasillonian language quotes.

Male Human Nerd 11

Don't forget you should roleplay between yourselves so your characters get to know each other. The caravan leaves on the night! (Real-life)

♀ Human Cleric of Shelyn

Sorry, just been a busy couple of days for me!

M Human Fighter (Two-Weapon Fighter) 1

I'm trying to figure Out why Anton didn't recognize Etna earlier. Was she always this tall for her age?

Anton Ionescu wrote:

Since both grew up in Sandpoint for years and then gone for years

We could say Etna was shorter during her childhood with Anton, but when both were away she grew to be 1 inch taller then him.
And he only remembered her as a shorter tomboy but now she's more lady like.

M Human Fighter (Two-Weapon Fighter) 1

Perfect, that works.

Female Half Elf (Varisian) Witch/1

Probably came off as harsh, but she felt slighted he didn't recognize her as Varisian.

Male Human Nerd 11

Nothing out of character for her. You are RP get very good.

Male Human Nerd 11

Is not bad some characters are still "roleplaying" the previus day, but please post your actions about the bolting horse too. I will post the result of them in the night.

Male Human Nerd 11

So we have a week into our game. What do you think? What do you like about it? What would you change?

Male Human Wizard (Universalist) 1 l AC 16 T 13 FF 14 l HP 10/10 l F +1 R +2 W +3 l Init +2 l Perc +1

I'm enjoying it. I like the RP build-up, the road trip scenario before getting to town.

QUESTION: Can I swap out some of my cantrips, since a couple days have passed and I would have to prep spells each day, anyway?

I was thinking that Zomeraand would most likely prep some practical cantrips for traveling (prestidigitation, for one). Let me know if that is okay.

Male Human Nerd 11

Glad you are liking it so far.
Yes, you can change them. To adapt them to a safe travelling mode is reasonable.

♀ Human Cleric of Shelyn

I'm going to post later this evening; been a busy weekend.

Male Human Nerd 11

Got it.

Female Half Elf (Varisian) Witch/1

I am liking it so far. I haven't seen anything that puts me off the story or characters.

Male Human Nerd 11

Any recommendations? Something to improve?

Liking the game so far,

Foxglove is acting within expected character parameters...

Minor improvements would be to break up some of the GM posts and might want to consider generic NPC aliases for posting.
A NPC heavy game where generic aliases helped.
As if I try a reply on a bit post the part I'm replying about could be cut off.
Now I did get feedback from players when I have used generic Aliases that they do like them in that and here's a quote on it

alternate aliases to post their dialogue makes interactions with them more vivid.

Male Human Nerd 11

Ummmm.... Aliases, that could work... Break the posts... Are that going to make like a lot of extra posts? Thanks for the tips.

JohnnyBlack wrote:

It should take much more, since the GM alias will be used less with the aliases and it breaks up the posts themselves into manageable bites.

Though with Generics you'll only need a few aliases for a whole cast, but in turn you'll need to put the name of the character at the top of each post.

male

One thing I did when GMing PbP in the past was use spoilers for long GM posts addressing multiply people/groups. You’re still only making one post but it’s broken down into more manageable hunks. That way it’s easier to scroll by if/when you’re looking for other posts, plus each spoiler can be labeled with the people it involves so it reduces the chances that someone might accidentally miss something they should see because they’re skimming a really long post.

Male Human Nerd 11

I will see how I can "split up" the posts.

On another hand... Aldern Foxglove is going to pay extra to Anton Ionescu, who he hired as a guard. The old woman that hired Lief didn't say anything about actually paying for the extra help (or even paying extra to Lief).

So... who is going to pay Etna?

Easy he asked for help, she's asking for a minor payment.
Give and Take is one of the rules of Merchants.
What she has dragon's blood....

Male Human Nerd 11

Well, I recommend letting him know in advance...

Female Half Elf (Varisian) Witch/1

This is my first time playing a witch. Normally I don't plan extraordinarily deep into build because you never know where story will take them. Sometimes it's to an early grave. Poking around in class features and spells though I discovered a fun combination.

Beguiling Gift and Sepia Snake Symbol. The first causes them to take and use an item. The second is a spell trap on text that completely shuts down the target for potentially DAYS at a time.

It occurred to me that my scribe could defeat an evil tyrant by simply giving them a letter with a short haiku:

A haiku for the dark emperor

The tale of evil is
Far too long for me to stand
I say it must end now

Goodbye

It's all theory craft, but it amused me greatly to dream about.
