I'd say group discussion for determining and addressing greatest party point of need followed by you got it last time so now it's for someone else and in case of tie breakers - roll off.
Kiztak "Kit" Basher |
As usual, Kit is glad to take any batteries that go unwanted, though static arc pistols are versatile enough weapons that someone might want it as-is (Kit has one already). I think that's the only thing from that pile he's interested in, though.
_Wyrd_ |
I don't think we have a lot of overlapping in wanting most things?
And how we deal with wealth it will only matter until the end of the current book because then we do a sell all/buy what you want
I know Wyrd would like the spell gems/scrolls, solarion crystals and most of the other things nobody else in the party can use at the moment
...and unless it turns out to be plot device we need for something I'd like the astral communicator for A.L.I.C.E. ;)

I think this will work fine from what I have seen of the group so far, but thought it a good time to clarify given we'd not had a situation like that arise previously (and I thought there could potentially be a few of us interested in a new suit of light armour).

Just real quick, let me know if you need a TL;DR version of events as they're happening in the game. We've entered the "investigation mini-game", and given how much I'm having to keep track of with the PDF open in another window, I could imagine it might be confusing (or at the very least time consuming) for all of you. No rush/pressure, just wanted to make sure we're all on the same page as the epic story/mystery unfolds!

"Too Long; Didn't Read"
PU-34LE "Puzzle" |
I don't mind a bit of mystery. Looking forward to doing some investigation!
Will try and post soon.

And for something completely different.
We still haven't brought the ACN-1 up to tier. I'm a bit behind on the latest rulebook, but last week I saw that Near Space includes ramming prows
Which sounds like a fun addition to Starship combats
And there's a couple of new starship weapon properties such as jamming and suspending
which could make it a bit more tactical on what to do.
But just getting the biggest weapon(s) we can get might still (always) be the best choice
I also saw the dousing shield..which is a shield with a build in personal fire extinguisher which might be nice for Nomyra to have
Kiztak "Kit" Basher |
I haven't had a chance to dig into it, but my copy of Starship Operations Manual shipped, so I have the PDF in my downloads. If we don't need upgrades until after GenCon, I'd love to dig through that and get some new options before we pick upgrades.

Yay, I wrote those! Well, Tineke wrote the ramming prow initially for her SFS scenario, but I wrote the other stuff!
AFlashInTime |
There is 100% no need to have the ACN-1 upgraded before Gen Con, and I'm curious how some of the Starship Operations manual works.
And, actually, I reread things again after book one, and it turns out the next time you might need a starship is at level, uh, in the next book at level 5 so you can hold off on upgrading the ACN-1 for quite a while if you want.
Also on the "what happens next" question, you have basically two options at this point. One is to go to Cryo Gentics where the data was transferred to and investigate there (and you've heard the place has a Bloodshots affiliation), and the second is to go to the "Meltdown" where the Bloodshots are supposedly headquartered. Either one seems like a viable options, I just need to know the group's preference so I can send you off on the direction of your choosing!

I say we go to the bloodshot. If they stole the data to bring to their boss it makes sense to go to the boss and not to the warehouse first and find out that
.... The Princess is in another castle....
We might as well go to the person behind this and assume that the data will be delivered there at the end
(my reasoning, not nessesarily the idea of the party as a whole)
AFlashInTime |
So I think currently we have:
-Wyrd and Vedrir saying go straight to Meltdown to talk to Mama Throsh
-Puzzle saying go to Cryo Gentics to try to recover the data
Just giving it another day-ish to allow Nomyra and Kit ample opportunity to express an opinion (or others to change their minds) since this will open certain doors (and potentially close others) depending on the choice made.
And just to be clear, this is not the GM asking "are you sure". Just letting everyone chime in before one of the options is taken (and I figure on a Saturday/Sunday there's not a huge rush).

Hey folks,
I can't remember if I've done this before on here (maybe I have), but I'm going to ask for a 2-4 day break before we dive into the Corona bubble and go check out Cryo Gentics. The next part requires a bit of set up (which I totally could have already done, but alas, have not), and for a variety of reasons this past weekend and now start of this week have just been super great for getting this PbP campaign set up.
I'll plan to resume Gameplay posting in the latter half of this week (Wednesday-Friday, probably) and go from there. Thanks for understanding! Once we get into Corona things should be able to move along more of their own momentum, I just haven't been able to prioritize the set up to get it where I want it yet.
And, for those of you in the Corporate Interests game, I'm planning on pushing through on that one. It's basically a combat and then we're done.
Kiztak "Kit" Basher |
I'm good with that, though with GenCon starting up on Thursday I'm likely to be a little slow in the second half of the week.
Kiztak "Kit" Basher |
Does the effect of the attablossom persist after it's turned off, or just while it's active?
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Hi, my wifi at home kept crashing on me (might be related to the tropical temperature streak we're having at the moment) and I just saw that my last post didn't make it through to actually getting posted.
I'm at work now and enjoying the air conditioning and a stable internet connection so I'm trying to catch up.
Kiztak "Kit" Basher |
Makes sense to me, thanks.
PU-34LE "Puzzle" |
All good. I hope the weekend is treating everyone well!
PU-34LE "Puzzle" |
I loved the image of the company's logo:
A smiling snowflake on the sun-bleached sign out front proclaims, “Cryo-Gentics. Keep your cool!”
I pictured it in a similar style to the Laughing Man logo in Ghost in the Shell SAC.
Also, office or warehouse? We want to try and get in quietly or take it right to 'em? Or spin some sort of tale to get us in and then take it from there? And let us remember that we do have the access card...
PU-34LE "Puzzle" |
Another +1 to going easy on them.
As Puzzle stated earlier (although not making a promise), we are not out for blood at any cost.
Kiztak "Kit" Basher |
+1 to going easy on them.
_Wyrd_ |
I'm all for giving them a chance and letting them walk away now.. But if for some reason they show up at a later time to give us a hard time it's over for them and no holding back from then on.
GMAFlashinTime |
Since I believe that's everyone for going easy, feel free to open the first spoiler. Right now it looks like you're next destination is the Meltdown. Anyone have anything else in mind?
Also, naturally, the way to the Meltdown is through the Brass Bazaar. I'm not sure if people really cared for the flavor encounter there last time. They're definitely other things going on in the brass bazaar, but I don't want to make everyone go through an encounter or potential side quest if no one has an interest in it. Is everybody good for another brass bazaar encounter?
PU-34LE "Puzzle" |
Agreed, Revvy.
GM Flash, I really enjoyed the previous one. Bring 'em on!
Vedrir |
Just FYI next week 31 August - 5th of September I will be at vacation practicing man trailing with my dogs. That might make my posting infrequent during that time period. I hope to be able to post normally but I will know better after the first couple of days. The location is fairly remote (as much as one can find a remote place in Europe :P)
Kiztak "Kit" Basher |
Hey Flash, in case you missed it, your GM is looking for you for the SFS special.
Kiztak "Kit" Basher |
Yeah, I wasn't thinking clearly when I moved to my first firing position. Will move again this turn.
Supersuperlative |
Unless there's something special about the creature' abilities...
From AoN:
Grapple
You hold the target in place. You must have at least one hand free to perform a grapple combat maneuver. Your target has the grappled condition, meaning she can’t move from her current space and takes further penalties until she either uses a standard action to attempt a grapple combat maneuver to grapple you (giving you the grappled condition) or uses the escape task of the Acrobatics skill to break free. If the result of your attack roll equals or exceeds the target’s KAC + 13, the target is instead pinned for the same duration, and she can’t take any actions that involve moving her limbs other than to attempt to escape.
The grappled or pinned condition lasts until the end of your next turn, unless you renew it on your next turn with another grapple combat maneuver. The condition ends immediately if you move away. As long as you have one target grappled or pinned, you cannot attempt to grapple another. The grappled and pinned conditions are further detailed in Conditions on pages 276–277.
When you renew a grapple, you can remove one item from the target’s body that can be easily accessed, including most weapons and equipment (but not worn armor). Doing so immediately ends the grapple.

Not going to get to that full update post tonight. Let me know here if you don't want to keep going to the Meltdown after this (you'll definitely have time for a 10 minute rest, and I think you still have serums). Hopefully tomorrow I can wrap this up and give you the intro to the Meltdown's neighborhood in the same post.
So again, post here if you want to do anything different!
PU-34LE "Puzzle" |
Sounds good.
Nomyra - Puzzle has 6x healing mk I - feel free to use as many as you need.

I'm running PFS/SFS at a local (virtual) con this weekend, so may be a bit slow for the next few days.
