Niu moves in close and attempts to pull the remaining festrog's feet out from under it, but loses sight as the hair gets in front of his eyes and stuck in his mouth.

Ranok finds a granite wall around the corner. Rhen finds the turnstile feels jammed, though his search check uncovers a locking mechanism.

DC was 25. Rhen manages to free the turnstile. It feels like it could bee turned now.

Niu shrugs and moves behind Ranok. "Looks like a portcullis winch. Could just as easily cause the floor to collapse into a spiked pit.

That would be diabolical... Have a completely safe room with a big wheel in the middle of it. Who could resist the urge to turn the wheel?" Niu giggles as he waits to see what happens.


The turnstile feels like it will go clockwise or counterclockwise.

1 full round of turning the gear rotates a 10-foot-square section of the granite wall, 2 full rounds to allow a Medium creature to pass, and 3 full rounds to open it completely. Closing the door takes the same amount of time as opening it. What position do you leave the door in?

I'd say open it enough for a medium sized creature, then Ranok will look through to see what is on the other side. We would probably leave it that way unless we see some reason that it needs to be cloased.

The passage opens to a thirty-foot-wide wide room with an open doorway on the far end. Thousands of slimy mottled fist-sized spheres cover the floor.

Rhen notes that the door will close when he lets go of the turnstile. The locking mechanism he disabled can be placed back into the turnstile to lock it in place.

Rhen jams the lock back into the place. "Aye that should be holdin' it till someone touches it again." Rhen then moves forward to wait his turn to go through.

any knowledge check on those spheress? Did it look like the eyeballs that were in the well?


As Ranok gets closer he notices the spheres are actually disembodied eyeballs stacked so deep you can’t actually see the floor. With a horrible concert of sliding, squishing noises,the eyeballs somehow turn to stare at you.

"Do they burn? I suppose we can try."

Momentarily setting the gem of brightness on the ground, Niu retrieves a torch, flint, and steel from his haversack. After lighting the torch, he picks up the gem again and attempts to use the torch to ignite one of the eyeballs.


The eye moves to watch every action Niu takes. As he attempts to light it with the torch, it looks directly at him. They are not flammable.

"Yes, let's go back to the hallway and see if we can get to the other side. If we have to, we can try this room again."

Niu begins walking back to the last intersection and looks down the hallway as he waits for the others to follow.


To Niu's south is an open room. You do not detect any movement but you can tell the room is not empty by any means. You cannot make out the contents from your distance.

Ranok will walk along the hall with Niu, thankful to get away from the squishy eye pit, and take a look down this hall into the room.

Snarls of toppled scaffolding and shelves fill this room with their skeletal wreckage, and miscellaneous tools lie scattered across the floor.

From the doorway you can see extensive structural damage has collapsed the east wall, entirely transforming it into a pile of rubble. Shards of metal sculpture poke from beneath the rubble.

Ranok will enter the room. Moving cautiously looking for danger all around with his sword in both hands.


Once in the room you see that the collapsed wall leads to a natural
cavern beyond. Shards of metal sculpture poke from beneath the rubble. Beyond the hole in the east wall you hear the sounds of human suffering

Lady Zeira moves back to the corner near Ranok and watches waiting for Rhen to return.

Ranok begins feeling itchy, knowing something knows he's there. Just waiting on him, and Ranok doesn't know what it is yet.

"Sounds good! Creepy eyeballs can stay creepy eyeballs for now and we can rid the caverns for them later"Zeira says looking to her companions.


Ranok sees where the cries are coming from. Cries and shrieks echo as a mob of hideous undead brutally beat helpless victims and hurl them headlong into a gaping pit. A few victims struggle vainly, but to no avail. Their assailants quickly lash into them, felling them where they stand and kicking the corpses. Others barely move at all but stare with blank sunken eyes as their vicious fates are inflicted upon them. Those pitiful wretches within the pit roil with feverish delusions as death seizes them. Struggling to maintain coherence, one poor dying farmer almost claws his way out of the pit and begs for death before a kick to the face sends him sprawling back into the churning morass of bodies.

Niu moves up behind the others, activating a minute of flight but not yet leaving the ground.


The undead move closer to you. As they do, you note that these look more experienced than the previous undead you faced. Igar leveled them up using the same rules you leveled up with. Will be interesting to see how this goes as there are more of them as well.
