’Secret door? Oh, that’s neat!” Raspar readies behind Kelvin. ”Mr. Alak, what is in here? What do you know of this door?” he asks over his shoulder to the Hellknight.

Dori listens to the description of the items and reaches for the bracers. " these should come in handy." after a moment of looking at all the unclaimed items they have collected, he also selects a poorly made silver hammer. He shakes his head at it's quality "Definately not of Dwarven make. But the those that lived hear had silver weapons for a reason..."

(Wasn’t me Tyranius, but here’s a link to the cover rule (link). A better system I think given the tightness of PF2 math.)

When Cuthberwyn finds the secret door, Cabaguil is quick with the praise, ”Good find Cuthberwyn! Seemed likely that there’d be a doorway of some kind there, but I couldn’t find ti. Well done indeed.”

He lines up with the others, and makes ready to enter.

Alak shrugs. "Not sure, this is the first I have been down in these crypts to be honest. Not really the type of place I fancy visiting on holidays."

Raspar moves out of the way as Kelvin pushes his way towards the door. Cuthberwyn pointing out seams hidden in the stonework. Something the dwarves likely would have caught on their own had they been giving the time.

Gripping the hidden door by the edges, Kelvin heaves it open. Six looming, raised daises stretch from east to west in this chamber, each bearing a massive stone coffin with a carving of a fully armed and armored Hellknight lying in stately repose. Upon closer inspection, the details of the various weapons and minor variations in the armor of the figures distinguish these tombs. Two of the coffins loom ominously open. The east wall bears a complex series of inscriptions composed of faintly glowing pale blue runes.

Two withered undead Hellknights stand here, eyes glowing with red light. Black tendrils of energy crackle on their fingertips as they reach for you with clawed hands! Religion to ID

Raspa interjects himself into the room without even thinking. When Ðakaþos said just seconds ago that secret doors lead to important discoveries and increased dangers, He was absolutely right. Though is the risk worth the unseen reward.

Alak steps in beside Raspar. "Tsk, Looks like the ward affected out this far. Fortunately it wasn't any further." Looking down he notices Raspars hand shaking. "What is it little one?" Raspar quickly explains that he knows what these undead are are they are quite deadly indeed. Wights! The wights touch along can drain the life from those they touch. Those drained in such a way die and become wights themselves.

Raspar swings the magical halberd into the wight, injuring it ever so slightly. "Get behind them if you can. This room is too cramped..."

The wights stumble in, clawing at Raspar and Alak.

@All- For those retributive strikes. PbP is strange with them as they are a reaction. In a real life table you would be able to call it out at any point that someone got hit that was within your reach. If you want for this PbP game you can say first person to get hit by the red wight I will retributive strike and I'll be alright with that. This way you won't have to react again if the person you named gets out of reach. it should get more use out of your reaction.

Cuthberwyn recalls a tale of flesh-eating witches which is supposed to bolster his allies into finishing the wights ass fast as possible.

Kelvin slips on the coffin, falling to his rump as he stands back up again, embarrassing himself in front of the undead hellknights. Ðakaþos shows the dwarves how to do it as he nimbly leaps up and hacks down at the wight assaulting Raspar, his blade cutting off a couple of fingers.

Dori moves beside his brethren and raises his shield to protect Raspar from harm, though Raspar is just too far away. Stepping far enough away Raspar stabs the halberd into the wights neck, pulling away looks bits of skin as the black tendrils of energy crackle within.

Cuthberwyn begins to inspire his companions. this actually makes the world of difference as Kelvin's strikes that looked like they were about to miss actually manage to glance into the wight. The pair of blows burst right through it, splitting the undead creature apart. Before dying once more the wight gives out a last spiteful claw to Kelvin.

Final Spite vs Kelvin AC 19: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15

It collapses too soon and fortunately misses Kelvin. Cuthberwyn directs a pair of magical missiles into the second wight. It screeches loudly as the missiles pop through the loose skin. dark tendrils of energy lash out in response.

Cabaguil's flames sputter in his hands as the dark energy seems topush back against the magical effect. Ðakaþos turns and hacks downward at the wight's head. his blade cracking through the top end of the skull and the energy flares once more, blackening a portion of the ceiling.

Seeing that the group seems determined to remain in the tighter quarters Alak sighs and pushes back through. "That's the way it'll be then."

The wight seems to want to go down with one helluva fight. the first strike hits Ðakaþos' magical shield. A burst of light flashes as the shield breaks apart. The second claws rip right into the lower giblets of Ðakaþos and the third tears a part of Alak's throat out. The hellknight gurgles and collapses to the ground in a pool of blood.

Continuing to inspire and bolster the crew, even after watching Alak possibly perish, Cuthberwyn cracks his whip out and trips the wight. Cabaguil does what he can to stop the bleeding as the magical light closes over the wound. Alak's eyes open and he gasps for break as his head jerks upward.

Raspar gives the wight another taste of his magical halberd. The sharpened end poking right into the cracked skull. The mass of blackened tendrils seems to subside slightly as the wight looks frightened from Kelvin threatening its undeath once more. kelvin's morningstar removes the creature's jaw as it shatters against one of the coffins.

Alak stands up and grabs his blade. In a weak voice he calls out. "Let's finish it quickly."

As the last undead creature in the crypts falls, the glowing runes on the wall vanish. Alak breathes heavily, leaning on his blade. "Good. That must have been the last one. I'm grateful I don't have to kill any more of my reanimated brethren."

The two open coffins that the wights likely came from contain halberds that glow when viewed with detect magic. The other four coffins in here remain closed.

"You slew their bodies, but your brethren are in Pharasma's embrace, and they arrived without wounds wrought by your blade." Ðakaþos leans against the wall as he talks. With a free hand he wipes blood from his armor, the other using his sword as a cane.

"If we spend time I'll examine these halberds, but if not, I'd guess that they're preternatural sharp like the one we found before. Come now. If we can mend these wounds, I'd see what's under the lids. Especially that one." He points at the bastard sword relief.

"Wow, those things were tough as nails! Feels like we dodged some of the worst of it as well." he exclaims as he enters the chamber. Again.

As it’s only been about twenty minutes since their last rest, Cabaguil does what he can to identify a few things while they wait for healing.

Arcana: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 on Halberd (10 minutes)

He’ll then work some scrimshaw while he waits (20 minutes)…

And, finally, he’s able to get to work. There are four of us who can heal with medicine, and five who need healing… Raspar, Alak, Cuthberwyn, Ðakaþos, and Dori, though Dori is mostly OK so maybe everyone pick one, and those who can lay on hands can maybe help Dori.

Cabaguil will continue to work on Alak for now.

He heals himself. +6 hp, - focii.

He then goes to help Kelvin, and seeing that he’s quite busy, instead spends the next 10 minutes cleaning and tidying up the wight mess. He’ll clean and straighten so the goblins have nicer and cleaner crypts to sleep next to. +1 focii.
