I actually explained my stats in my first stat-block post:

In a spoiler, I wrote:

Ancestry: Human (8hp, 2 free boosts: STR, DEX)

Background: Entertainer (CHA, 1 free boost: STR)
Class: Monk (10hp + STR)
(+4 free boosts: STR, DEX, INT, CHA)

So you get 9 boosts total.

Two with your ancestry (or three and a negative),
Two with your background,
One with your class,
Four free boosts.

I was under the impression that in each "round" of boosts, they go to different attributes, but I might be wrong. In any case, it's written that you can't exceed 18, and if you boost an 18 at Lv.5+, that attribute increases by 1 point instead of 2.

Was ninjaed, this was a response to Demonlord's question.

Its the point buy I missed. I will see if I can track it down, New book, new system and all that. TY for the info

My above post is also an answer to Demonlord.

What, they gave Monk 10 HP for HD.
Version 1 they had 8 HP
Pathfinder 3.5 they had 8 HP

Paizo must favor Monks now as HP is a huge upgrade to a character.

Em monks are fighters, the whole deal is to get up close and slug it out. So I think the 10 HP makes sense.

The page number for feat descriptions this way I can just look it up.

Gareth is a free spirited rogue who grew up having to fend for himself. He never let that get him down though. He used that to learn many skills and even apprenticed under a few different trades, however the life of an adventurer is what called to him. He is friendly and willing to help those truly in need even if he must break a few laws to do so. He has been known to steal from the wealthy and give to the needy while skimming just a bit for himself off the top. Hearing of the call for adventurers in Breachill, and knowing he had an ancestor who was an adventurer there, he set off hoping to have a shot at helping those in need and making a name for himself.

Dotting in! I’m new to Pathfinder overall, and I’m still figuring out 2e off the Archives since I don’t have the book. However I’m a long-time TTRPG player, mostly D&D 5e and the Masks system, and I’m currently pretty PbP light.

I’m still brewing over what I’m gonna make, but my default character for new systems is a half-orc sorcerer (or system equivalent). I’ll look things over and get back to you.

Backstory:

Fore is the bastard son of Quentino Posandi, who had an brief affair with an itenerant Half-Orc priestess of Shelyn. When the priestess decided to move on, she left her son on Quentino's doorstep and then left town.

When he discovered the child, he recognized just enough of himself in the baby to recognize it as his own, yet he wanted nothing to do with the child, so he did what he saw as fitting: he abandoned the child on the doorsteps of the temple of Shelyn, where the took in the boy and raised him.

While it is an open secret among the town, none have told Fore. For his part, while he always wondered who his parents were, he grew up happy and loved in the church, so when it became time for him to pick a trade, he took up the mantle of the redeemer.

As with most children raised by the church of Shelyn, Fore is a gifted artist: in particular, he is a talented painter.

Good morning Heroes!

Here is Phntm888's submission, Zagulo Maresh, a draconic bloodline sorcerer with the Dragon Scholar background who wants to learn more about the gold dragon that merged its bloodline with his.

Here's my submission. Maizie is a Maestro Bard. I'm not completely finished with her yet, for example no gear. I'm also still mulling over a couple of details about her, maybe a slight ability score change, or a change to her Ancestry feat. But she's really close to done.

Wow, 2e bards are very different from what I expected before I got into building her!

@Ash: I used a named NPC from the Player's Guide in her background. That's risky because the person may have a role that's completely incompatible with their use in her background. If that turns out to be the case, I'm happy to switch her background to take them out.

Background:

Maragon was born in a small village about halfway between Breachill and Elidir. Her mother was considered a seer before she was born and in her youngest years. Maragon isn't entirely sure whether, and to what extent her mother might have had some sort of second sight, but whatever it was drove her mother mad as time went on. Her mother's behavior became ever more erratic and strange as Maragon grew older, and her mother's reputation as a seer was replaced by the opinion she was a 'crazy witch'. Her mother's reputation made life as a child and teen hard in such a small town.

Her mother never revealed exactly who Maragon's father was, but she talked about him some, dropping little pieces of information here and there. The question of her paternity occupied Maragon more and more as she grew closer to adulthood, and it became more and more difficult to live with her mother. Maragon relocated to Breachill a little over a year ago based on her suspicions. While scraping by as a singer, she's kept her ear to the ground, gathering gossip and information.

She's become almost certain the Desnan priest Kellen Carondil is her father. Maragon hasn't approached him yet, she's not sure whether she's more angry about his abandonment of her, or more in need of a more stable relationship with a parent yet. In the mean time she's heard plenty of other very interesting tidbits about her new little town. She's continuing to dig for more, convinced Breachill isn't quite the kind of town its residents like to believe it is.

@Ash,
I am going on a mini-vacation over the weekend, just in time for gamestart. I *will* be able to post daily, but I'll be playing by phone, making it impossible to update my profile.

Speaking of vacations, my last really big vacation was to Hokkaido, Japan. Seeing that my character is basically the Golarion equivalent to Japanese, I was wondering if you'd be fine with her being from an island of Tian Xia, and if my in-character memories could be based on Hokkaido. My character's name means Small Island Flower Child, and Hokkaido is an island known for its rainbow* flower fields. (*That's Shelyn's favorite color: all of them.)

LINK: Flower Field in Furano, Hokkaido
DISCLAIMER: Both my iPhone camera and my skills as a photographer are sub-par.

Google "Furano" and click images for way better photos of rainbow flower fields.

Now that you mention it I'll actually be hit or miss next week but I'll do my best to keep up. After next week I'm a-ok!

@Hanko no issues on either end! Enjoy your vacation!

GM Ash wrote:

Cool... and well-timed! I just edited my profile, which is like what you already saw but with the mention of Tian Xia.

Looking into gear now.

Ok, I think I've managed to create an interesting character which I could enjoy playing in this campaign.

I present to you Dragoslavius Epurescu, an aspiring Hellknight with a personal mission: take control of Citadel Altaerein and rebuild it as a renewed Hellknight Citadel.

A brief but more detailed background and a description will come as soon as I'm able to write them down.

@GM Ash would such concept work for the AP? Or should I change something?

So here is updated list of what I have to consider for the AP. I will make another list tomorrow for anyone else.

I've made a couple of changes to Maizie so I've reposted her "sheet" to show them. I decided against Elf Atavism for the Ancestry Feat and chose Natural Skill instead. I'm going to lean a little less to the elvish side, she's never met her father or had any significant contact with elves. She would have learned more from her mother. Aside from Occultism I added Medicine to reflect this. Besides there aren't any Cleric applications so Medicine seems like a good investment. I added Acrobatics as the 2nd gained skill.

She also loses Detect Magic as an innate cantrip, so it's gone. I also realized I'd shorted her one cantrip, so added Ghost Sound instead.

I also learned that the Spoiler command seems to really hate quotation marks. It's working correctly this time. :)

Backstory:
In Breachill, every child at some point dreams of being an adventurer. For Urziah Zahl, he was practically born one. The child of two wanders, the abandoned babe was unofficially adopted by the many adventurers of the small settlement. It is of little surprise then that he aspired to be like his immense adopted family. He trained endlessly, and on his 16th birthday he finally gathered his gear and set out for the jungles of Garund. And for a time, he found some success. Nothing notable, but well-done work.

Then, one fateful night, his life would change for the worse.

Unbeknownst to the still-naive adventurer, his most recent client was a werewolf. When another band of adventurers came for the client’s lupine hide, the resulting melee resulted in Urziah’s eye being torn from his skull and his chest being savaged by the beast’s claws. Luckily, the monster was ultimately killed, and one of the other adventurers was a cleric capable of stemming the spread of lycanthropy into the half-orc’s system.

Stemming. Not stopping.

In addition to his lost eye and brutal scars, Urziah left that encounter with the “Taint of the Wolf” in his veins. While not true lycanthropy, the young man’s condition still stirs within him primal, predatory urges, and he can now transform into a wolf-like form. The problem is, he doesn’t have full control of this new power. Sometimes, as he and a wandering merchant tragically learned on his way back to Breachill, the Taint takes over, and he is driven to acts of horrific violence.

Now returned to his home, Urziah has not forgotten his dream of adventure. He still attends the Call for Heroes, but he now silently prays that he can use his curse for some good, rather than pure bloodshed…

I'll probably add appearance and personality sections later, but I felt these were the two most important chunks to get in.

Depends who you talk to.

I started a rules question thread and somebody said Paizo hates monks because they don't get legendary unarmed strikes (and fighters do).

@Hanako, thanks for compliment on Mob! She was very fun create. Your mix of monk and actress is very cool, not surprised you've already been accepted.

Thanks. I'm even looking into all of the skill feats I want which support the skills I am planning to advance. I just need to advance the relevant skill.)
