Dusty recognizes the creature as a Ceustodaemon. He doesn't know much more about it other than that Cold Iron won't work but Good weaponry will.
He also learns that it makes a really good target as all three of his bolts hit.
"Fools! You cannot stop what has been started! No more will this temple belong to Erastil. Soon it shall be Anogetz's beachhead into this realm!" it declares as it hovers forward, remaining 10' off the ground. It's mouth opens wide and a gout of fire comes out engulfing everyone except Dusty.

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Petronicus manages to roll away and avoid the worst of the demonfire, but grits his teeth against the pain. (Petroniucus takes 11 hp of fire damage.)
Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 8 + (2) = 11, uh
He wracks his brain to identify the demon, but comes up with nothing. Seems his uncle's books didn't have much on this particular species.
"I'll try to flank it!" he calls out as he moves to the left of the creature, stabbing at his with his polearm and ducking behind a column.

So...keep in mind it's flying. It's purposefully keeping out of range of your melee attacks. It has reach, though so it can attack in turn. Taman and Petronicus, feel free to redo your turns. Petronicus you can attack him with your reach weapon but you have to be adjacent to him to do it. Taman, you'll need a reach weapon or switch to ranged...or climb a column to get up on his level.

But not Acrobatics checks to move around it, correct? I've moved myself adjacent to it and hopefully my attacks still stand.

With Petronicus' and Taman's melee attacks (which both hit to devastating effect) added to the missile attacks that Dusty peppered the creature with, it growls, then stiffens, then crashes to the stone floor. With a howl of denial at failing in its task, it dies.
The rams are not deterred, however, the ferocity of their daemonic master driving them into combat.
One of them trots up, nimbly going over the fallen column to attack Toral.

It seems it is simply not Toral's day...or perhaps religious fervor in animals just makes them not sleepy. The ram fights on!
Spackle McGapfiller |
Spackle steps forward and enacts the magic of the wand in his hand. Billowing clouds roll up from the ground, filling the chamber. However, all of the Pathfinders seem to be able to see through the fog with little distraction.
UMD vs DC 20: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
Song of the Fiery Gaze lets us see through the Obscuring Mist from the wand. Updated the map with the fog.

Petronicus Krupt III |
Petronicus grins at the knowledge that their opponents will have trouble seeing them as he maneuvers behind Taman and strikes at a ram (if any of them are still standing).
Guisarme attack, magic, good - PA: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 12 - 2 = 17, Damage: 2d4 + 16 ⇒ (1, 3) + 16 = 20
Petronicus had Phalanx Formation, so Taman doesn't count as cover when he attacks the rams. If any of them are still standing and attack Tamran or Toral, he will use his AoO to give them a +3 to their AC, which he succeeds unless he gets a natural 1: 1d20 ⇒ 5, 1d20 ⇒ 1, so first one succeeds, but of course I get extra-special lucky on the second >:(
EbonFist |
Between flying bolts and flying blades, it is difficult to tell who finishes off the 2 fiendish rams. The fall to the ground as lifeless as their apparent leader in only a few seconds but not before becoming confused by the fog that has surrounded them.
The unholy statue in the main chapel collapses and the animals looking on suddenly quiet leaving an eerie silence. The animals blink and shudder, the unnatural influence from beyond visibly leaving them. Their savagery disappears and all that remains are a lot of confused beasts that quickly scatter as natural enemies find themselves in close proximity with no explanation.
The silence remains as the nearby animals are reluctant to return but there is a feeling of calm about the structure, now.
It takes a day for several of Erastil's priests to arrive.
They thank the group for what they did. They thank them even more after performing the rite and realizing that they will never have to again. Destroying the demon has left Anogetz's influence of this temple weakened and they are able to banish it entirely rather than just sealing it away.
As they will no longer need the [i]spear of the huntmaster[/b] and to show their gratitude, they present it to the party.
Petronicus Krupt III |
Petronicus cleans off the gore from his polearm as he looks around the temple. Disgusted by the demonic corruption, he then begins cleaning up the place and restoring any of the original Erastilian trappings he can find.
"Wby do they do this? Why is chaos so messy?" he yells out loud to no one.
Toral Kargar |
Toral is glad that he can return to his business.
”Good, good! Let’s take everything and be gone!“ the dwarf says with greed after evaluating the price of the weapon.
Taman Hornraven |
"OK, let's go!"
