Am I remembering correctly that we only need to bring the stone back? Or are we also supposed to bring Talbot back to Absalom Station as well?

The Stone to Absalom, but we made a deal with the corp guys to bring them Talbot. The Venture-Captain didn't care what happened to Talbot.

Philt nods in satisfaction. "It is always pleasant to deal with people who know how to uphold a deal."
He looks over his shoulder at the mob behind them. "I have a proposal that may calm their ire but perhaps you would like to tell them what really happened? As far as they know, this one really was changing their garbage into money," he says, indicating Talbot.

Looking to the others "Maybe one of you will want to explain things to them. The art of words is not my strong suit, but I'll put in a good word here and there."

Shaan's not known for his speaking abilities but he indicates to the mob through gestures and rude pantomime that Talbot was no good!

I think we're relying on Sibhonar here, but Tavia will also try to help out.

But to no avail. "Should know enough to keep my mouth shut" she mutters to herself.

"Good citizens of he Tasch, Talbot is not who you think he is! He does not deserve the love and loyalty that you afford him! He is a charlatan who has used magics hide his lies and deceit! Do not fall for this, good citizens of Tasch!"
"We have brought him to justice and remember the way to prosperity is though hard work, not Talbot's illusions! You have proved that hard work is available in abundance in Tasch, so reject his trickery. Abadar says the assiduous shall be rewarded in this life and the next, so fear not noble citizens of Tasch, trust in Abadar and you will be rewarded!"

Shirren are not capable of smiling, but if they were, that would be the expression on Philt's face as he rests a hand on Sibhonar's shoulder for a moment. "A perfect segue, Honored Associate," he says quietly as he steps past his fellow Corpman.
"As Sibhonar has said, hard work is the path to success The drive and loyalty the townsfolk of Tasch have demonstrated—however misguided— has inspired me. AbadarCorp has long considered the construction of a shipping hub outside of Maro. Such a facility would keep cargo destined for transport throughout the Pact Worlds away from Maro’s local gangs and criminal organizations. I believe that Tasch could serve to staff this shipping hub and provide infrastructure for guards, pilots, and corporate employees. Such construction would also mean gainful employment for all the townspeople," he says.
The announcement is not met with the wild acclaim that Talbot had but a look of hope replaces the anger and hatred on the faces of the gathered mob.
Philt has just time to thank you for bringing Talbot in before he is swamped by people with questions.
I'm assuming you're not keeping the Charlatan's Stone for yourselves. Not that there's a mechanism for that, anyway...
The townspeople are not as boisterous about it, but the Starfinders don't have to pay for their drinks for the hours it takes for the next transport back to Maro. The bars there are not quite so generous but within a few more hours, they are on a ship back to Absalom Station. A quick Drift jump later and a walk through the station and they present themselves to Venture Captain Arvin.
Yet more drinks follow (how did I get on this theme?) as he takes them to a favorite Starfinder bar and buys them a a round.
[b]"And now, I'm going to make sure this is someplace safe," he says, holding up the Charlatan's Stone.
"You should get a good night's rest. I'm sure you're tired from your mission and, given your success, I'm sure to call on you again in the near future."
