Mely watches the battle begin with squinted eyes which are quickly widening now that they're all not standing outside in bright winter. Other members of the party throw about quickly manifested support magic while she hesitates, but soon enough she gathers herself to act.

She pulls up the hem of her robes and stomps down the stairs, partially to make sure she doesn't fall down them instead, to stop behind the more face-first members of the group. Once she can see the clustered... things, she focuses her faith into the holy symbol tattooed into her palm and chants a spell. The Korfu moves to where he has line of sight to the oncoming mummy, drawing a rod of toppling spell as he does. He casts a topping magic missile to help Brendan against the horde.

GM, can I get a ruling on how toppling works? As I read it, I can apply a single magic missile to four different targets and attempt to trip each one. Most GMs find this annoying and I can understand wanting to reign it in.

If I can try to trip them all, I'll put a missile on each one.

If not, I'll send one at Blue and try to trip him, then put the rest into Red.

"Yes, as my friend says," the aasimar indicates Brenden, "any information you can give us about your abductors will help us bring them to justice and ensure their wickedness ends now."

As the party treats the group, Quil comes rushing in.

"Ohhhh I was so worried. I see that my fears are unfounded and that you are as capable as I was told. Let me bring you all back to the Inn and ensure these hostages are treated well for their harrowing experience." she chatters on even as she beckons for everyone to follow her.

Teeva responds to the group with a smile.
"I would think so but it was boring to just be stuck in one place. Once we are out, I'm sure my condition will improve. Unfortunately our captor never spoke which added to our boredom."

Quil: "I shall make sure that her bleaching will be gone with other experiences to enrich her life." she promises once she understands what Teeva means.

Quil leads the group to the Blushing Valkyrie before taking the Hamush family away to be treated.

A large and fairly popular inn run by the gnome Lueven Qorlipur , this tavern is known for its risqué cabaret performances featuring actors dressed as legendary warriors from Ulfen lore whose armor is more revealing than protective. A wide array of beverages are available on tap, including several kinds of throatfire whiskey, and the beds are soft and warm.

Heal and rest time

You are awakened by a furious and incessant knocking on your doors of your rented rooms.

A young gnome woman having gotten your attention begins speaking.

"I am Risoflen Chebs. My husband was one of those recently slain but his grave...." she sobs.
".....has being dug up and is missing. I have already informed Quil and was told to bring you all to the grave site as quickly as possible. Will you come?"

Upon Arrival at the Inn

'Long' Beau finds the Blushing Valkyrie quite to his liking. The cleric offers the gnome tavern-owner Lueven Qorlipur a warm, thirsty smile and the blessing of Erastil. "A fine taproom you have here, and a fitting place of rest. A meal, a few drinks, and a cabaret show. It doesn't get any better than that."

At the Knocking on the Door

'Long' Beau stumbles out of bed, pulls on his small clothes and answers the door. Unselfconscious of his state of undress, he ushers the pretty gnome lady into the bedchamber and listens to her plea. "Of course, we will help you, Risoflen Chebs. Just give us a moment to suit up."

Graveyard
Upon arriving at the grave site just outside of the city proper in a small copse of snow-laden trees, 'Long' Beau refreshes the protective spells on Scratch and then begins to search the area.

This small graveyard is covered in about an inch of snow, partly burying most of the gravestones. No gravekeeper is on duty, and there are no mourners present when the group arrives.

Quil Tabberdash is in quite the excited conversation with the ghost, and as she spots your arrival, she wavres and turns to you.

“Good! You’re here! I’d like you to meet the late Humush Mum. Humush, these are the heroes that I was telling you about, the ones who saved your family. Heroes Humush Mum says that she can lead you to the lair of this Necromancer.”

The ghost gives each of you a bow of gratitude.
"You have my eternal thanks for your deeds, oh Heroes. Though I may not be able to aid you in dealing with the undead minions summoned forth by this necromancer, Ellix. I can aid you when the right time presents itself and can tell you where the lair is. The necromancer nearly had me and I'm not certain I can resist his commands again should he attempt once more, so beware even if I'm willing to lend my aid against the necromancer, I might turn to be another enemy.."

Even without the Ghostly female gnome's help, the tracks are obvious to the group.
It takes about 40 minutes of travel to follow the tracks back to a small, rough opening on the side of a hill.

"May Erastil bless you, Humush Mum," 'Long' Beau says, "And may he watch over you and your loved ones. They are safe now, and we will deal with this necromancer, Ellix."

The cleric asks the ghost, "Is there more you can tell us about Ellix? Does he have allies? What sort of undead minions does he command?"

Once he's listened to Humush and the rest of the team has had a chance to ask questions of their own, the aasimar follows the trail to the necromancer's lair.

Mely Ara will take the time the others are preparing to enter to do her own preparations. With a few small displays of Ranganori's power she'll suffuse herself with magic and hop into the air. A moment later her legs will turn back into a striking long fish tail which she'll use to swim through the air alongside the others.

A second chant to her god and a calming aura surrounds her, dissuading anyone from wanting to strike her. Then touch Scratch on the back to harden the lion's defenses even further. "May as well make sure your little cat is as ready as possible. I have a few more magics to help once the fight starts. Korfu, if you feel like being a little more... aggressive I can put a little divine fervor in us to speed us up when the time comes."

From what "Long" Beau can see the warrens are narrow tunnels deliberately form a criss-crossing maze, designed to deter unwanted visitors, especially those of Medium or larger size.

He guesses that this would pose no hinderance to any smaller creatures, the rest would be feeling the lack of space though.
Squeezing

Humush Mum explains more of what she knows.
"I did see him remove more bodies from the graveyard and knowing his skill has probably given himself more defenders. He does have small furry creatures he keeps in there. My thank once more for saving my family."

Hazard:

The twisting and cramped tunnels of the warrens are sized for Small creatures, forcing Medium creatures to squeeze when passing through any area where the squares are partially covered by the tunnel walls (each move into or through a space while squeezing counts as if it were two squares, and Medium creatures take a –4 penalty on attack rolls and to AC).
