12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Here's where we'll muster!

I'd love it if you could please provide:
Your name (as you want it on the chronicle)
Your character's name
Your PFS #
Your Faction
Your Day Job

And go ahead and tell me a little bit about what your character does (this is a good place to point out any build-weirdness, typical uses of immediate actions, if you're slow progression etc.)

Let's have some fun!

NB: This is a timed multi-table special. That means that I will definitely bot or delay you after 24 hours, and might do it earlier if:
You're the last one up, I'm about to go to sleep or otherwise be unavailable for long stretch of hours, and at least 12 hours have passed.

That will usually mean just delaying you unless your character has good botting instructions, you've designated someone else to take care of that for you, or it's simple enough for me to just roll for a full-attack or something.

But hopefully we'll just keep up a good clip!

Pfs #: 75577-7
Faction: Exchange
Day job: profession: merchant: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21 minimum result 75gp thanks to slush fund boon

Malachi is a pirate respectable businessman. He’s a besmaran druid (kraken caller archetype) but emphasises natural attacks. A raging, flanking full attack can be quite impressive.

Malachi has a parrot hawk familiar who spams Guidance and once per day (normally for a boss fight) allows an ally within 30 feet to roll initiative twice and use the better result (emissary archetype). I normally use this ability on Malachi unless we have a caster or bard/skald who can make a big difference by going first.

Mal was a victim of the great lore warden nerf. Originally he was intended to “reform” under the tutelage of Master Farabellus and the Pathfinder Society, now he’ll remain a bloodthirsty barbarian fruit and veg salesman.

PFS#: 4249-6
Faction: Scarab Sages (Forever!)
Day Job: Profession (Food Taster): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Sarsczek is a Slayer/Living Monolith who is going to be joining Malachi in the natural attacks club... and with luck as his flanking buddy for maximum silly.

Three times per day as a swift action, Sarsczek can use his Ka stone to become large. Due to his stone blood and fortified flesh, he cant bleed, automatically stabilizes when KO'd, and has DR 1/- and 10% fortification. The fortification and DR increase to 2/- and 20% when he gets big.

Also, I think I've GM'd for you a few times, and played with you a few times, but never played with you as GM up until now.

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Mal, since the Guidance SLA provokes and you're a melee character, I'll ask you to call it out while we're in initiative, but otherwise as long as there's not some evident reason why it would be a bad idea, I'm fine with assuming that if time has passed, everyone has Guidance. Sound good?

::skims aliases:: I've fought alongside Chou Wei and... Marcus, but you've definitely GM'd for me a few times, Debug - Glad I can return the favor!

That sounds like a practical way to handle Polly's Guidance, GM. She only occasionally gets up front in melee, typically she's scouting from above or floating about the back row. She did once come and rescue Mal from a ghoul though - two talon attacks for 1d4-2 damage can help in an emergency :)

One more thing to note about Malachi - he comes with "unparalleled supplies", an Exchange faction card boon. During the adventure the party can reroll up to 7 spell or damage dice. I will track these rerolls in my header as "supplies", but players please use them whenever you wish, you don't have to ask.

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Mainly I just meant that since Guidance is a touch spell, if Polly'd just been sitting on your shoulder, she could draw more fire than you might prefer if I was just assuming she really did cast it every turn. I've had a very brave emissary hedgehog of my own (with a lot of hit points) purposefully draw some AoO's before :-)

I lost a protector-monkey by underestimating the impact of an AoO before :o

Polly isn't really resilient enough to routinely draw AoOs. Malachi doesn't have enough hp or AC for my liking either really, though AC gets buffed by Barkskin and Shield.

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Fair enough. This was for a VMC'd Kineticist with ~300 hp at that point, so Dandelion (the hedgehog) had about as many hp as our actual frontliners :-p

I don't think I've played Searlas much since then. I've been playing mostly Starfinder these days, but once I finish off one of my ongoing PFS games I'll probably try to dust off a character or two. I was considering running him in this scenario, but Sarsczek has some history with the tapestry. My angry bird Korai (who I think you may have GM'd for) also has some tapestry history, but not as much as Sarsczek, and I really like playing Sarsczek.

Hey, Little late to the party. I'll be playing Zera, a 5th level bolt ace gunslinger with 2 levels of weaponmaster fighter and 2 levels of brawler, making a grand total of 9th level martial mutt.

PFS number is 134702-7
Faction is Grand Lodge
Day Job is farmer, but I don't have my character sheet on hand right now to tell you what that number is, I'll get it as soon as I can!

Character's gimmick is dual-wielding hand crossbows, while still being proficient in kicking faces while wielding my crossbows thanks to brawler, and has a few ranger-y skills maxed out for my non-combat shenanigans. Its gonna be a lot of shots per turn. The crazy shooting full attack is highly reliant on a glove of storing that I use to have a hand free so that I can reload, and out of combat I will have one of my crossbows stored in the glove.

I usually stick to using my grit to get my worse iterative attacks as touch, and probably wont be too heavily using any interrupts. I am not always the smartest with my martial flexibility, but I will likely mostly use it on clustered shots if we come up against something with DR.

Botting shouldn't happen too often for me, but just in case, once I have my sheet together, I'll most my full attack as something copy-pastable in my profile, and I'm generally going to do that as often as possible.

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Not at all late, but glad to have you here!

Thanks for the reload note! As soon as I saw dual hand crossbows I started searching for a prehensile tail or something, so thanks for pointing out the Glove :-)

No particular rush on the Day Job, we still won't be starting for a couple weeks after all!

That said, if you could please copy over your character sheet into your profile before we get going that'd be incredibly helpful. Mal's got a good example in his profile. Sarsczek's mythweavers link also works fine if you've already got something like that setup.

Adding in some quick reference stats to your header (like ACs, CMD, Init, Perception, Saves, Grit, Martial Flexibility...) would also be greatly appreciated. Again, Mal and Sarsczek have some good examples.

Since it doesn't look like you've done a ton of Play-by-Posts, any questions, or anything we can do to help you get acclimated?

Luminae is a life oracle who is going to do her best to heal the party and manage the damage among the party and give a better chance for others to fight uninterrupted.

I will use life link on everyone including on Malachi's familiar and other companions. At the start of my turn, if they have 5 or more damage, each will heal 5 and I'll take 5.

My only immediate action is to dismiss my life link, I'll do that if I'm under some hit point threshhold (40 hp). I'll dismiss all links at the same time when I do so. I'll specify if that the situation calls for that to change.

I also have one free reroll per day after failing a Will save vs enchantment. For the ease of use, unless there is another suggestion, I'm fine declaring that I'll use it on the first time I fail such a save.

I'll be running this game as well for another table, I'll let the other party members suggest any major decisions and support other player's suggestions throughout the game.

The character sheet will be up along with botting instructions this weekend.

I've not fully updated Fung's character sheet since his last game but should be able to do it by this weekend.

As an aerokineticist, Fung has permanent flight. So I would repeatedly be asking GM for height of rooms since he would be moving a lot in 3-dimensions. Otherwise, I've built him such that he is effective in both range, closed melee (kinetic blade) and reach attacks (kinetic whip). He has an air wysp which gives him automatic bonuses. In melee, he may use it as way to aid for +4, but that is risky, for being a tiny creature, I think it would have to move into the space of the target to aid, opening it up to AoO.

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Welcome Fung!

I forget, does your wysp benefit other [Air] type effects if its a familiar? Or just yours? I remember something about kineticist familiars having something different about them...

If everyone could go ahead and hop over into Maps & Handouts to fill out their information that would be fantastic.

Please do fill in the Chronicle information for this character. If you've played those scenarios on other characters you may enjoy some Easter eggs, but there are mechanical effects that are determined by this character's past exploits :-)

Sheet filled out. I've played most of those other scenarios, but not with Malachi.

I haven't made separate entries for Polly's initiative and perception - should I?

Re: marching order, Malachi prefers to be first or second. He'll normally have a lucerne hammer equipped, so can fight from the second rank (albeit with cover penalties), but ideally he wants to be flanking.

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Honestly, in a timed special, I'll just have you go on the same count, especially since both birbs have the same initiative anyways.

That said, please do toss on an extra line for Polly's perception.

I updated the sheet, and Sarsczek has played 3 of those scenarios. One of which he played with Luminae in fact.

Re: Re: marching order, Sarsczek likes to flank too. Sarsczek would happily perform pincer maneuvers with Malachi all day long. If Sarsczek and Malachai can stand side by side in the first rank, that'd probably be the best.

Also, Sarsczek has a lot of gold, so I should probably make some purchases before we get started. I do however have 0 prestige since I spent it all to become a sage. I'll need a 'raise dead' buffer in there somewhere, but if there are abilities that our party seems to be lacking, I'd gladly pick up some consumables to cover.

Okay, I've got a mini-intro post up in Gameplay to give you something to work off of for your intros.

Fung, Peribras, and Zera: I could still use your info over on the Maps & Handouts link (Particularly the chronicle stuff)

Also Zera, even if you don't do a full character intro, I'd recommend at least ninja-dotting* the gameplay thread so that it will show up on your campaign page.

Also, I'll be doing a fuller mechanics/math audit/familiarization over the weekend, so please do sing out if you'll still be adding a chronicle or updating something so I don't have to do it twice! :-)

*Ninja-Dot: To write some sort of unimportant/gibberish post in gameplay then immediately delete it, so as to mark it as an active campaign without cluttering up the thread.

Hey Sarczek, it looks like you often swing with three natural attacks, but your bodywrap only gives enhancement to two of them, right? Do you usually just use it on your first two?

Fung, do you start off the day with enough burn loaded into talents to have your Overflow up? Or do you start off fresh? Also, it looks like you have 5 utility wild talents when (I think) assuming you used your expanded element on utility, you should still only have four (Levels 2, 4, 6 & a bonus one at 7). Am I missing a source?

Peribras - any progress on leveling to 8? Or getting your info up on the slides? We're getting going on Monday and I'd love to have time to double check things and make the prep tweaks based on your past chronicles.

Thanks all!

I usually start fresh, then go crazy in the first attack to accumulate that 3 burns. :)

Peribras is updated to level 8 (and my new template). Starting on Darkpaw now. There should be botting instructions in the profile as well.

12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

I did a quick search for light cantrips or wayfinders, and assumed that you'd put some glow up before returning to Slave Mountain. Sing out if you don't want that to be the case.

Dark Archive

That is at least true for myself. I would cast light on my shield.

active effects:

Preparation 'boons' won - summary for convenience:

  • +4 to initiative in one fight vs undead - GM will apply this for us
  • One of us, once only, can roll a Will save at +2 (use before rolling)
  • One of us, once only, can roll a Will save twice and keep highest result (use before rolling)
  • Everyone gets a free potion of CSW, and another free potion of choice (no expensive material component, and no enhanced caster level)
  • Between encounters in the Tapestry we can make CRB or UE purchases with a value up to 1500gp
  • Each of us, once only, can reroll a failed skill check relating to movement

Also, GM you are right about the Righteous Redemption boon. I'll have to make a choice at the end of this scenario (if still alive!) My bad for not reading it fully. However, I do have the Exchange Faction "Aspis Profiteer" boon with two goals completed on that card (11 goals total) - so that lets me obtain an item worth 150gp, and doesn't stipulate when it has to be used. I'd like to use it now to get 1 x scroll of lesser restoration. - and it looks like, if there is a connection to the Aspis in this scenario, I can get a second box initialled. Given this is pbp a note on my chronicle sheet should suffice.

I'll choose Heroism for my free potion.

  • 12/15/18 - 10/11/13 Social Media Booster (CPR),

Looks good and thanks for the summary :-)

Fung: I noticed that you'd bumped up your miss chance from 25% to get an extra 15% from your burn, but my read is that that only happens when you spend burn to specifically empower your Elemental Defense. Something I'm missing there?

Oh, you're right. I've been reading it wrong all this while. Thanks!

    No worries :-)

I'm just trying to catch any oddities early while we're still kicking into gear!
