Alright, party will stay together and tackle the burning hall first.

So, does that mean I succeeded?

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

Do fascinated targets normally talk? Edited the post for clarity.

They certainly can. They just can’t attack. I don’t interpret quietly to mean ‘without speaking’.

At 1st level, a bard can use his performance to cause one or more creatures to become fascinated with him. Each creature to be fascinated must be within 90 feet, able to see and hear the bard, and capable of paying attention to him. The bard must also be able to see the creatures affected. The Distraction of a nearby combat or other dangers prevents the ability from working. For every three levels a bard has attained beyond 1st, he can target one additional creature with this ability.

Each creature within range receives a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the bard’s level + the bard’s Cha modifier) to negate the effect. If a creature’s saving throw succeeds, the bard cannot attempt to fascinate that creature again for 24 hours. If its saving throw fails, the creature sits quietly and observes the performance for as long as the bard continues to maintain it. While fascinated, a target takes a –4 penalty on skill checks made as reactions, such as Perception checks. Any potential threat to the target allows the target to make a new saving throw against the effect. Any obvious threat, such as someone drawing a weapon, casting a spell, or aiming a weapon at the target, automatically breaks the effect.

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

I do interpret as such, based on the fascinated condition.

Fascinated: A fascinated creature is entranced by a supernatural or spell effect. The creature stands or sits quietly, taking no actions other than to pay attention to the fascinating effect, for as long as the effect lasts.

Ya, fascinated won't talk... just stand there.

Not Diplomacy? It’s the truth...

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

Except it's not, it's what Kasimir believes is the truth. Vahlo is a rightful Decemvirate member, and the archon was bound by the venture captains legitimately as a countermeasure after all of the attacks on the Grand Lodge. His summoning was activated when the hall was looted by those groups across the way.

Dark Archive

Cleric (evangelist) 13 | HP: 120 |AC: 25/ FF 23/ T 14 | Fort: +16 Ref: +11 Will: +20| Perception: +21| Init: +4

ok, so Diplomacy for actual truth, Bluff for everything else?

Dealing with Archons are such a pain. It might sound crazy but my characters had a better time in Hell then they did in Heaven. These LG extra-planar types are a real stick in the mud.

Time to thrash some Undead.

@Grandmaster TOZ - How many of the Undead is Kasimir effecting out of the total mob of Undead?

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

I believe Command Undead is limited to your level in HD.

Sure I get that but how many HD of Undead are floating around there? Was it like picking out a few ants out of a colony?

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

That’s what it looked like. There are enough bodies to make visibility inside very short.

Dark Archive

Cleric (evangelist) 13 | HP: 120 |AC: 25/ FF 23/ T 14 | Fort: +16 Ref: +11 Will: +20| Perception: +21| Init: +4

How many are inside the mausoleum vs. outside? Could this be better solved with a wall of stone?

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

That would certainly prevent any more from escaping. They all appear to be zombies and skeletons, nothing strong enough to break down a wall. The door appears to be bottlenecking them, since they are mindless and can’t take turns exiting. Otherwise the grounds would be overrun.

Is there any point in Yuri wading in and smashing them or are there so many that we need another solution? From your description, it sounds like the latter.

It sounds like you and Omrax can smash the stragglers now that the wall of stone has stemmed the tide of Undead.

Liberty's Edge

CG Half-Elf Summoner 12

Hemming the tide doesn't prevent the bodies from being desecrated... if you care about that sort of thing.

This is a non-issue to my character. He fights Undead as they are a break in the natural cycle of life-death-life that must continue. Eventually the undead will be killed and feed new life. Nature is patient.

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

Let me know once we have consensus on moving to engage the looters. In other news, wrapping up my other table tonight, so all I have is this one. Should help get us through at a decent pace.

Glad to have you full-time. :)

I’m ready to move to the looters. The dead can wait.

LOL - silly autocorrect. That was moving 'on'. Which I thought I fixed but it put it right back.

@Kasimir - How about some negative channeling? Show them the errors of their ways for rejecting the Dark Lord. :-)

It’s not selective, if you’re ok with feeling it yourself, I’ll do it.

My character and the Eagles are 50' up so I should be out of AOE anyways with any care. You can move and channel to exclude people. As we have no combat map you can indicate that in your post.

Liberty's Edge

I'm a bit confused about what's happening. Do we have targets to attack? Or is this another huge mass of foes, requiring AoE (or perhaps Diplomacy or some other skill)?

It is hard to say exactly Yuri. Go in and kick some butt. What do you have to lose?

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

This is a skill challenge that you use attacks and spells to overcome.

It sort of feels like minion rules from 5th Ed or 13th Age where damage will blow through to the next creature as they are sharing a communal hit point pool.

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

Better than wasting our time rolling out combat with a hundred 6HD creatures.

I am not complaining just commenting. Mooks are fun.

@Hamish - Pounce for the win! :)

I am just curious if anyone has gone to Paizo Con, Gen Con or Origins?

I’ve been to GenCon many times, and Origins a few times. Why?

Shadow Lodge

Table Maps | Passing the Torch |

Been to all three, planning on dropping into Origins this coming year.

Liberty's Edge

Been to Paizo Con, twice... but that was some time back, before they changed the date (which no longer worked for my work schedule), and the format.

My first Gen Con was at UW Parkside in 1978.
The only time I was at Origins was the two times it was combined with Gen Con.

Local conventions are fantastic as they are easy to schedule in and very affordable. Also as they are smaller you get to know people and some have a distinct culture that you may learn to appreciate. That being said I am looking forward to scheduling in some other conventions that I have not been to. These include at least Gen Con and Origins. Seeker Palooza seems very interesting to me but the location is remote and it is very small con so I consider it risky to try out. I like conventions that have a wide mix of gaming. Any cons that you guys want to recommend?

DragonCon (every labor day weekend in Atlanta) is awesome. There's a full schedule of Pathfinder and there's plenty of other gaming, but that's all just a small slice of the whole thing (80,000 nerds take over downtown), which really has a lot for just about every corner of fantasy/scifi/geekdom.

The Exchange

For pure raw gaming in so many flavors, definitely rate Gen Con at the top.

DragonCon is Mardi Gras for geeks, and it is friggin amazing. But the gaming is not even a side note...don't get me wrong, there's plenty of fun gaming to be had, but the vast majority of attendees at DragonCon probably don't even know that there is gaming at the con. Not that it matters. But just want to be clear, it is not a gaming con. 24/7 bands playing. 24/7 drum circle. dozens of amazing tracks of programming, about genre, subgenres, books, writing, movies, tv. Enormous huckster space. costuming like you wouldn't believe. And oh yeah, they set aside a decent amount of space for gaming too...

Thanks for the feedback guys. DragonCon does sound pretty neat and Atlanta would be a nice city to visit. Origins and Gen Con are certainly on my to do list. Are you guys near Atlanta?
