Gazigaz looks over Aba with his jaw wide open, after a second he quickly get over himself and adds:
"Yes, join us and leave this planet for glory and fame!"
Diplomacy, aid Aba: 1d20 + 10 + 1d6 ⇒ (20) + 10 + (2) = 32

The pirates have a bit of a chat amongst themselves before calling back to Aba "We're not joining your crew, you aren't even one of the Free Captains, and you don't get to be the Captain without there being a vote anyway. Silazi is our Captain and that's how it's going to be" Silazi looks happy with the loyalty of the crew.
She then addresses Aba and Gaz"So you put down your weapons, we put down our weapons, and we all get out of here together" She still seems very suspicious, but her crew seem pretty amenable to the idea...
"We have a deal?"

"But then none of us will have any weapons if other not-nufriends attack us," Dakoyo points out.
Still...he considers himself a pretty good judge of character...

"You will never get nufriends if you will not extend your hand first." Says Gazigaz but is hesitant and hides his weapon.

Dako seems to think it is legit, per their code, once a Free Captain makes a deal it is a deal
Gazigaz puts his weapon away and Silazi stands up straight and lowers her weapon in return "Parley over then, and a truce it is", the rest of the pirates put their weapons away and start moving in to get items stowed for the flight off the planet, and the two crews work together to get the Warlock’s Hand out of the swamp and back into space. In orbit around Varkulon 4, you can see the Drift cyclone raging across the planet, so the Pirate-Manders take the ship out of orbit and travel a few hundred thousand miles away before safely engaging their Drift engines to return to the Pact Worlds.
Just before you engage the Drift engine, you receive a holo transmission from Ponatia "Thank you for your helpfulness, please come back to Varkulon 4 soon when the skies aren’t so dangerous. I promise to give them a better tour of the osharu universitycity and the surrounding area. The Drift cyclones sometimes cause strange items to appear on the surface, and you would be welcome to scavenge anything of value… after they have been properly studied, of course!"

The pirates turn out to be not such a bad bunch (in their own way), even Captain Silazi seems to have had a slight change of heart during the trip back to the Pact Worlds, most likely caused by the relentless helpfulness of your skittermander crew - she no longer wants you all dead, though an ember of resentment still smoulders in her heart.
"I reckon if you could drop off me and my crew on a freighter called the Bright Horizon within the Diaspora so that they can try to join the Free Captains then we can go our separate ways. We will lobby the Free Captains to have Nakonechkin Salvage be declared off-limits for future pirate activity"
Any counter thoughts - eg wanting to hand them into the authorities?

"Nufriend in need is a nufriend indeed! I think we should do that, from the beginning I knew you were as sweet and fluffy as Aba over there! " and he gives her much unwanted hug

"Always much better to work together than apart!" Dako declares, shaking Silazi's hand after she squirms her way out of Gazi's hug.
He moves along the pirate crew, offering hand after hand after hand after hand after hand after hand after hand after...no wait...that's all the hands.

The trip is uneventful and most people now get along. Waving off your nufriends ("We will write to you, promise!"), you finish the journey back to your salvage yards.
Nakonechkin seems really surprised by the state of the ship you arrive in, the mashup salvage/pirate ship is quite a spectacle "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW?" he exclaims in confusion and anger "That's going to cost a fortune to unsmash the two ships apart!"
He looks at you all for an explanation.
Aba Calling |
"We got trapped and merged in a drift cyclone -- which is really rare. So rare that I bet Abadar Corp will buy it just so that they can figure out how we managed to fly the thing! Should I ask my contacts there?" Aba smiles with enthusiasm at the idea.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Nako, the Soldier |
"Remember those pirates from before? Their sister came and tracked us down. She boarded us and then we were caught in this storm and our ships fused together. They were really angry and wouldn't be nufriends, but after we beat them up a few times they decided that nufriends sounded nicer and we all left the planet together." Nako explains.
Shifty |
"The pirates wanted revenge, but now you are all nufriends?" He seems grudgingly impressed.
"Aba, you want to keep the aesthetic monstrosity? Right. Well, we can get it into better working order then. You do seem to have a few pieces of your salvage, plus much of the pirates’ previous plunder so we can cover costs, and for the next time you lot go out on a salvage mission, I'll be installing escape pods beforehand!"
End!
Thanks all, I'll do the sheets up shortly!
Ebon Fist's Pre-Gen |
Thanks for the game! As always, the Skittermanders are a lot of fun. And it was nice seeing one that wasn't a pre-gen in play.
Nako, the Soldier |
I think that used to be the rule. HMM said that now the only time you can get credit applied to a character while it's in a game is Campaign mode or GM credit. I think they did it to prevent the situation where you die or gain a condition as the pregen but the character is in an adventure. They thought resolving it was tricky or something. Also to prevent power leveling probably.

SKITTER CRASH
GETTING CREDIT
All players who play the entire module receive the attached Chronicle sheet, which can be applied to any 3rd-or 4th-level PC as if that character had played the module. A GM who runs a module may likewise apply credit to any one of her Starfinder Society PCs of those levels. The decision of which character receives credit must be made when the Chronicle sheet is received and signed by the GM
(Emphasis mine)
As long as you aren't in a game right now you are ok.

I've downloaded the chronicle.
Thank you for the game. I loved the scenario way more than the 1st skittermander one.
Great thanks to Shifty for running this and to all the players.
