The Osharu headteachers convene for a side discussion for a few moments then come and address you as a group.

"Your strange combined starship has 'landed' not too far from the Lyceum and our scans indicate that it is mostly intact and probably salvageable", they point to a screen displaying a topographical map and highlight an area of swampland about five miles away.

"We will have a cruiser made available to drop you to the nearest road, and here, some supplies to assist you and thank you for your selflessness"

You are escorted back to the street where a cruiser awaits you

The osharus give you a mk 1 nullspace chamber containing four mk 2 serums of healing and a spell ampoule of haste.

You are driven along another road to the north for a few miles, and then marrch an additional mile through the swamp whilst overhead the storms above continue to rage

The merged forms of the Helping Hand and the Nova Warlock lie half-submerged in swamp water, a gangway extended onto dry land. Cots, tables, chairs, and cabinets have been dragged out randomly onto the peat, while cables and pulleys are strung up in the nearby trees in what appears to be a futile attempt to pull the vessels out
of the muck. Above the airlock, someone has hastily spraypainted “The Warlock’s Hand.”

On the gangway, Captain Silazi seems to be overseeing two robots.

"I think maybe we should get closer first. Less time for misunderstandings to develop.." suggests Nako, as she tries to slip quietly forward hiding behind the junk.

Nako's version of quiet is on par with a rampaging bull in a porcelain wares shop, and all three 'pirates' look up.

Now that you see Silazi in person you notice a small orb of dark-blue energy floating near her shoulder “You! How?!” Captain Silazi sputters. “I suppose anything is possible with these weird storms. I thought we were going to crash for sure, but something set us down here as gently as you’d lay a baby in a crib. Too bad it put the engines under a few feet of swamp water.” The mote of energy descends and begins encompassing her right hand. “Honestly, I’m glad you survived. It gives me back the chance to murder you myself!”

Just to check: Nako's has been fully healed and Lem's stat bar just needs updated, right? I think we took care of all the healing after the bridge, and I'm sure we've had a 10 minute rest. If not, I would make sure we had one, because he looks tired.

Dakoyo already has his battle staff ready, but as he moves up behind the computer equipment he pulls his needler pistol as well. He then looks the lady not-friend and thinks about how it would be nice if she were more helpful, and tries to make her realize how much her unhelpfulness is hurting other people.

Move speed (I assume that computer equipment provides some level of cover) & draw weapon + standard action: Mind Thrust. She gets a DC 15 Will save. All out of first level spells.

Mind Thrust damage: 4d10 ⇒ (8, 6, 10, 9) = 33

Seems I had a very wrong idea on what a mechanic's exocortex did and having just looked it up I saw I've made some mistakes; To hit should be 21 and damage should be 6

...about twenty minutes later.

Nako and Quonx are checking the ships systems in the cockpit, Quonx fairly happy that the engines should be just about to come on line (if this next wire is nufriends with some soldering), with Gaz and Dako retrieving various objects from the furniture outside (aka 'your stuff'!) and are just heading up the gangplank.

From the swamp, a wall of pirates emerge, led by not-friend lady who seems to be ranting and raving and describing you all in colourful terms to her friends. The pirates look like they aren't very happy people.

Gazigaz was chewing on a snack bar when he first started talking, then he quickly swallowed and tried again - to a much better result.

Silazi stands up straight and lowers her weapon "Parley over then, and a truce it is", the rest of the pirates put their weapons away and start moving in to get items stowed for the flight off the planet and the two crews work together to get the Warlock’s Hand out of the swamp and back into space. In orbit around Varkulon 4, you can see the Drift cyclone raging across the planet, so the Pirate-Manders take the ship out of orbit and travel a few hundred thousand miles away before safely engaging their Drift engines to return to the Pact Worlds.

Just before you engage the Drift engine, you receive a holo transmission from Ponatia "Thank you for your helpfulness, please come back to Varkulon 4 soon when the skies aren’t so dangerous. I promise to give them a better tour of the osharu universitycity and the surrounding area. The Drift cyclones sometimes cause strange items to appear on the surface, and you would be welcome to scavenge anything of value… after they have been properly studied, of course!"

The pirates turn out to be not such a bad bunch (in their own way), even Captain
Silazi seems to have had a slight change of heart during the trip back to the Pact Worlds, most likely caused by the relentless helpfulness of your skittermander crew - she no longer wants you all dead, though an ember of resentment still smoulders in her heart.

"I reckon if you could drop off me and my crew on a freighter called the Bright Horizon within the Diaspora so that they can try to join the Free Captains then we can go our separate ways. We will lobby the Free Captains to have Nakonechkin Salvage be declared off-limits for future pirate activity"

Any counter thoughts - eg wanting to hand them into the authorities?

Nahh, we are helping them at the moment, the authorities don't need any more help.

Nako waves a friendly farewell to the pirates. "Many hands make light work. Any of you who don't want to stay as pirates... well, we here the Starfinder society is always recruiting able hands..."

Waving off your nufriends, you finish the journey back to your salvage yards.

Nakonechkin seems really surprised by the state of the ship you arrive in, the mashup salvage/pirate ship is quite a spectacle "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW?" he exclaims in confusion and anger "That's going to cost a fortune to unsmash the two ships apart!"

He looks at you all for an explanation.
