Having missed his first shot, FR10R activated his exocortex and immediately targeted the enemy, once the telemetry data began filtering through his brain he leveled his weapon and fired.

Since 14 missed earlier I assume 13 misses now lol

@Oda: Huh, it doesn't look like standing up provokes anymore. Didn't realize.

@FR10R: No, that hits! Q-10's shot missed due to concealment. I'll roll yours this time as you're the last post, but remember that for later rounds.

Also, bold of you to assume my expertise!

Low is good: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

Only FR10R's shot hits its mark. It doesn't cause the target much more grief, though he was already teetering as well as he could while aflame.

I think shooting at Spider should fall under 20% concealment ;)

Spider makes a sidestep to not stand under the ladder. He is certain that the rest of the team is on their way down.

He takes a swing with a pistol trying to force a reaction and follows it with a stab using his sword

Attack vs KAC, flanking: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 = 11

Yeah another 6s and 7s, guarded step as a part of move followed by an attack. Please let me know if such a move is possible as I went diagonal to flank the opponent.

"Move your sorry a**s down here instead of shooting at plants from above!"

Guys, shooting from down here increases your chance to hit.

Oh yeah, I was telling myself that all through the post and forgot.

The flaming mercenary (and his one remaining hit point) finally succumb, dropping to the ground. "Gurge! No!" The mercenaries look a bit shaken as they press the attack. Exegara, however, is unfazed. "More skulls for me, at two-thirds the price."

A ferocious assault leaves Q-10 down for the count, but unlike Gurge he's still breathing.

Question to GM Crunch. I saw that the bad guys did 2 attacks against Q-10 and 2 against Oda. Shouldn't that be counted as full attack meaning that both attacks should be made with -4 modifier? If so then the 2nd attack against Q-10 would be a miss and he could sing: 'I am still standing!'

They are being made with a -4, unfortunately. The single attacks swung in at +6, because, you know, three of those as minions against level 1's! I should be more specific about that, though, I'll include the -4 in the post from now on.

Spider approached quietly from the back and made a powerful stab at his back. Not that our intentions were so different, mind you. We took those baubles you seem after, along with any other treasures we could scrounge up.

"And it was all going so well, too! Like now." The ghoul sighs, a strange sound amplified by holes inside her mouth. "We left that barren shell, it wasn't even so hospitable to us. Come the morning, each of you receives a message from Arvin. 'Report to Arm #3 for further orders.' He stands in a docking bay, next to the entry ramp of a sleek-looking starship. He waves his hands over the side of the ship affectionately. “This is the Loreseeker, a Pegasus-class ship that’s one of the fastest and lightest in the Society’s fleet.

“We know that the Unbounded Wayfarer was discovered by undead creatures from a starship called the Endless Threnody. We’ve pulled some strings with our more reputable Eoxian contacts to get more information, but they’ve disavowed knowledge of the Endless Threnody entirely; this likely confirms our suspicions that it is connected with the Corpse Fleet, a group of Eoxian separatists who refuse to work alongside the living.

“We have the location of the Endless Threnody in the Drift, courtesy of that ghoul you tracked down. Its Drift engine is incapacitated, so it’s unable to escape. Take the Loreseeker into the Drift, cripple the Eoxian ship — as a Corpse Fleet vessel, they won’t be open to negotiations — and recover the location of the lost Starfinder vessel.”

5d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 2, 3) = 20

1d20 ⇒ 12

"Then it's settled! Give it your best face; a few extremist corpses aren't going to be a problem."

Once the ship has departed the hangar and made some distance from Absalom Station, normal space and its trappings fall away. They are replaced by an endless void full of swirling color - the Drift. It's a tiring 20-day journey without much to do. Very rarely, old wrecks of ships or asteroids pass by, but your mission is more important. Hopefully you aren't bored out of your skull by the time your sensors finally blip - the Endless Threnody is near.

I added the stats of your ship to the slides yesterday, and put the various actions and DCs in my header. Could the acting science officer make a Computers check?

"Zahvos Corvus" Male NG Human Envoy 1 (Xenoseeker) | SP 0/7 ; HP 8/10 ; RP 4/4 | EAC 13 ; KAC 14 | Ft +3; Rf +4 ; Wi +2 | Init. +6 ; Perc. +4; SM. +4+1d6 (Expertise) | Speed 30ft | Active conditions: None.

Just prior to the launch of the Loreseeker, Zahvos is shaking and sweating profusely. Still, he insists on being near the window bay, so he can get a better view of what's going on.
During launch, he seems very frightened, but manages a shy smile, and afterwards admits that the sensation is thrilling in its own way.

Still, he spends most of the first days in his cabin - probably retching - occasionally getting out to admire the view of space. Somewhat familiar with the inner workings of a vessel due to his work on the docks, he quickly finds his place and spends most of his time jesting with the crew members or inquiring about issues of space travel, his former fears forgotten. He once approaches FR10R and strikes a conversation:

"What about you, FR10R? How did you join the Starfinder Society?"

Once, over a shared meal, he speaks of the Corpse Fleet to the crew members:
"I've heard ill things about that Eoxian fleet before. They've got radical views about the living - in short, they don't care much about us, except when it's for their benefit. Few are those who managed to communicate with them, and even fewer are those who survived to tell about it." He shakes his head. "I hate to say this, but we can't hope to talk with them. If they open a comm channel, assume it's a trick, we won't be able to strike any deal with them."

A frown suddenly appears on Zahvos' face. "If a team is to board their ship, we also have to keep in mind that those are corpses; the ship will be airless, and we'll need to be geared - except for Q-10 and FR10R, of course. Their ships are also powered by some sort of bone spikes supplying the ship with energy."

When signals of the Endless Threnody come in, Zahvos gulps loudly and walks to the main deck.

"Remember what I said: we can't hope to bargain with them. If they seem open to discussion, it would be of our best interest to stay on our guards."

Acquisitives

"Oda Umox" Female LN Half-Orc Soldier 4 (Mercenary) (Star Knight) | SP 0/34 HP 21/36 | RP 4/4 | EAC 18; KAC 20 | Fort +6; Ref +3; Will +4 | Init: +2 | Perc: +0, SM: +0 | Speed 25ft | Active conditions: None.

Oda marches into the access port of the ship. By the time everyone else has boarded and settled she is already comfortably seated in her gunner's seat and is dozing fitfully.

Dataphiles

Male Android Mechanic (exocortex) 1 SP 7/7 : HP 10/10 : RP 5/5 | EAC 15 : KAC 17 | Fort. +3: Ref. +4 : Will +0 | Init. +2 : Perc. +4| Hunting Rifle Ammo: 4/6.

FR10R studdied Zahvos as the human struck up a conversation, in answer FR10R replied "Excellent question, I left Aballon in search of knowledge, the Starfinder Dataphiles seemed like a resonable place to start, through them I was given an assignment much like the one we perform now. Seek answers regarding a lost ship and it's crew. That mission was mostly successful and so I am here."

computers: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

"Spider" Male CG kasatha space pirate operative 2 | HP 16/16 SP 12/12 | RP 3/3 | EAC 14; KAC 15 | Fort +0; Ref +5; Will +4 | Init: +4 | Perc: +6, SM: +6 | Speed 30ft | Active conditions: None.

Spider nods to what Zahvos is saying about the corpse fleet adding:

"Bloody undead! Not only they destroyed the Twins but also ripped apart big part of Eox. Their hatred blinds them so much that they can't be reasoned with. Kasathan learned their lesson on dying worlds and look for better ways of living, unfortunately not all were that successful."

Kasatha takes a long sip of his flask and limps away from the mess hall towards the bridge.

He looks with interests when FR10R is reading the scans waiting for information to be shared.

Bandits of Immenwood | Before the Dawn

3d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 1, 2) + 5 = 11

Expert techie that he is, FR10R detects the Endless Threnody before they notice the Loreseeker. With that edge, Spider is able to get into a favorable position. This doesn't seem to demoralize the Eoxians at all. Their captain still sounds imperious as she briefly opens communications. "So good of you to deliver the skulls we need for our repairs."

The Eoxian freighter is a massive vessel made of bone and steel. The front of the ship is a single enormous red lens, appearing as a sullen, bloody eye. The ship bristles with bone protrusions, as though it were some horned, skeletal beast. Some of the bones are charred and broken, indicating past battle damage. Laser cannons protrude from the front and sides of the freighter; but its rear weapon mounts are a twisted wreck. Gaps between the bones show the ship’s interior, but this is not from battle damage—this ship was never intended to accommodate living creatures.

Rolls:
Divert: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Encourage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Lock On: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Initiative: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

For starters, since you won the Computers check, you get to determine facings. Turn both ships in place however you'd like. Then, those in bold positions can act.

Round One:
Engineer
Captain
Science Officer
Initiative
(pilot) (vs. 13)
Pilot
Gunnery

"Spider" Male CG kasatha space pirate operative 2 | HP 16/16 SP 12/12 | RP 3/3 | EAC 14; KAC 15 | Fort +0; Ref +5; Will +4 | Init: +4 | Perc: +6, SM: +6 | Speed 30ft | Active conditions: None.

Spider seeing the danger rushes towards the pilot chair.

Let me be the pilot then

He puts his cane next to the control panel with the Besmara symbol on it well visible. He pulls out another Besmara symbol and hangs it no that far from the piloting console.

He says a prayer:

"Besmara, let this ship be victorious today and our treasury be full of plunder."

Initiative, piloting: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

As he does so, Spider is distracted so much that he fails to predict the enemy movement.

Failed the initiative so we move first. I set the directions so that their ship would be directed the opposite way. If someone has a better idea feel free to change it.

RAt walks up to the Loreseeker, "I've seen bigger pieces of shit." He walks down the ship running his hand along the hull,"Come Zahvos, what's the difference between the Station and this ship? Both are just air bubbles floating in the void. Regardless, I'd rather have a proper planet under me... Stone, soil, water, natural atmosphere..." Rat's gaze because wistful and snaps back to his usual dourness.

As the ship leaves the station Rat joins the crew for meals and downtime, though most of his waking hours are spent making sure the ship's systems are functioning fully.

As the ship comes upon the Endless Threnody Rat becomes more serious than usual. "So, they really just fly around in that intergalactic ossuary? Ha, makes me seem more cheerful!" With that he sets to work...

Engineering/Divert to Weapons: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

"Weapons are charged and ready to offer a cordial 'how do you do'."

Nice, I'm excited to try out Starship combat! This will be my first, so as always, let me know if I've got something wrong!

Seeing everyone rush to their positions, Zahvos looks around, confused.

"Oh boy, here we go. And what am I supposed to do? Umm... Can I serve refreshments?"

He realizes no one has taken the helm.
"Oh hey, who's the captain? We're missing a captain!" As he sees no one take the post, he steps up to the deck. "Zahvos, I can't believe you're doing this." "O...Okay! We got this, crew!"

He takes a look at Spider praying and sees the enemy ship on the radar.

"Spider, be wary of their movement!"

Encourage action to Spider (Pilot); Diplomacy DC 15
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 7 + (4) = 12

But Zahvos' fear is apparent, and his voice is so thin that the Kasatha doesn't hear him.
