Due to her understanding of the physics behind planar phenomena, Quonx realizes that this eddy is some kind of 'thin spot' between this plane and another plane, which must be where these shadowy bugs are originating from. Quonx also recalls that when the party first entered the room, the crew determined that the darkness is caused by some nearby source of magic.

Quonx is not in the grenade blast radius. No Reflex save needed.
The worms are blind, unable to react to the incoming frag grenade, each one taking two points of damage! And also being blind they snap at anything in their immediate surroundings but their efforts prove futile!

Not sure which one Dakoyo attacked. I'll assume blue.

Dakoyo hurls little bits at the already injured blue insect, causing it to disappear in a puff of shadow!

Quonx levels her laser rifle at the nearest centipede. A steady lock on tone emanates from her helmet's earpiece telling her that her combat tracker is feeding her telemetry on the location of the centipede. She immediately opens fire and sends a bolt of focused laser energy streaking at her target.

Quonx's laser shot and Gaz's pistol fire takes down the purple and yellow bugs!!

Nako looks around but sees nothing of note within the magical darkness shrouding this room, then prepares to repel another insect should it comes close!

For Dakoyo:
After casting detect magic, you promptly realize that the four chunks of onyx on each of the pedastals are themselves magic and must be the source of magical darkness. Their locations are now marked on the map with a red dot. A DC18 mysticiscm check while standing next to one will power it down.

The magenta centipede moves over towards Gaz, attempting to attack, but just as it's about to lay a nasty bite into Gaz, Nako's doshko comes crashing down, splitting the insect in half!!

Moments later, another shadowy (blue-ish) insect appears in the center of the room, apparently having entered through the eddy!

Gaz leaps up and down and points to the reddish centipede. "You next!" He fires his arc pistol at it.

Ah yes, that's right. Totally my fault for neglecting to remove the magenta token. Therefore, I'll take Nako's attack as a readied action!

Quonx and Gaz open fire! *Schwoop!* And yet another shadowy insect disappears!!

A metaphorical light bulb blinks on above Dakoyo's head (which would be drowned out by the magical darkness if it were literal) and he moves to one of the onyx chunks, chants a few mystical words, makes a few mystical hand motions and you feel the magic within the onyx power down.

It's still dark in here but you're confident your attempt at shutting down that onyx chunk was successful!!

Blue moves towards Nako but Nako is ready and waiting for an opportunity to take another slice out of these shadow centipedes!! And she takes out the blue one with another massive strike!!

The orange-ish centipede, apparently still blind, remains in place.

And, as you might have guessed, three more shadow-pedes appear through the eddy in the center of the room!!! Purple, yellow and magenta!!

Quonx flicks the fire selector switch on her laser rifle to burst fire and let loose a barrage of concentrated laser fire at the centipedes.

I think Nako kills the centipede in front of Gaz. If not, Gaz will forgo Get 'em for a guarded step back.

Gaz cheers as he sees the pets go down, but then stomps his foot as more appear. "Dakoyo, hurry! We get dis one!" He shoots the nearest pet with his arc pistol.

Dakoyo knows that getting rid of the crystals is the most helpful thing he can do! So he quickly hurries across to the second onyx gem and chants mysteriously over it.

Quonx opens fire and misses yellow with her first shot but the second lands for 4 points of damage!

With a mighty skittermander war cry "I'll help you... INTO OBLIVION!!!", Nako obliterates both the purple and magenta centipedes in front of her!!!

With the bug in front of him cleared away by Nako, Gaz shoots at yellow and combined with the fire from Quonx, yellow disappears completely!!

Dakoyo easily shuts down the next magical onyx rock and although the darkness doesn't lift, the oppressive feeling caused by the darkness lightens...

The orange centipede squirms around in place, still blinded from the flash grenade tossed what seems ages ago!!

And out of the eddy, another blue and reddish insect appears!! There must be a nest of these things on the other side of that planar eddy!?!?

Slash! Slash! Pew! Pew! Everyone's attacks take down the remaining shadowy centipedes!!

Dakoyo's actions on the third onyx chunk prove successful and woooooom woooo woo.... The magical darkness dissipates and the light levels in the rooms return to normal, causing the eddy to close up! Score another victory for our intrepid skittermander heroes!!

Combat Concluded!!!

With the darkness lifted, you look around and realize you're on the observation deck. Nearby are controls that will unshutter the transparent aluminum ceiling. Searching around, you find nothing of note.

There's nothing else to uncover in this room. You may rest and heal up here before moving on. I will go ahead and uncover the next room so you can decide where to go next.

Proceeding through the door, you enter a corridor where a wide marble staircase spirals beneath a crystalline chandelier hanging from the ceiling. In addition, you find a door to the fore and starboard.

Quonx will open the starboard door. As she does this she readies a frag grenade in one of her hands while her other hands hold her laser rifle and survival knife.

After the shadow portal is closed, Gaz kneels down for a moment. "Nako sit. Pets can be tiring."

Gaz could go on, but I think Nako needs a rest. Maybe some healing too. If Nako rests, Gaz will too.

Dakoyo looks around the room and the group. He fiddles with the controls, wanting to get a better view of the cosmos as he considers the next best action.

How many folk are down HP? I can channel to restore to multiple of us at the same time if there are several.

Okay, I'm going to assume Nako and Gaz both rest to restore SP. Dakoyo, only Nako is down HP at the moment so I assume there will be some healing done for him. I'll move on to the next scene but just let post up what healing will be applied to Nako and we'll apply it retroactively.

As Quonx approaches the starboard door, she hears an angry bellowing from within!!

You recognize Nakonechkin's shouting!!!

Opening the door to this room reveals tiled walls colored a soothing sea-foam green. Three cushioned tables occupy the center of the room, each with a plethora of mechanical arms ending in various nozzles, manipulator digits, and other implements. A series of chairs runs along the starboard side of the room, with apertures in the wall behind them. The air is humid and smells of sandalwood.

Nakonechkin, your boss, is currently trapped on the central massage table, being kneaded and pummeled to a ridiculous degree.

"Skitter critters!!! Get me out of here!" he yells!

When Quonx begins exploring the hallway, Gaz hears something and leaps up. "Dat Nakonechkin! He in there!" Gaz rushes over to the door and opens it.

Inside he sees their boss being manhandled. "Ooooh...that not fun, Nakonechkin? Ok, we help!" He begins looking for a set of controls.

Before leaving the onyx room, Dakoyo reaches out a gentle hand to Nako. "Remember, you are the universe are one. There is no 'wrong' in the universe."

"I have not seen one such as this before. It appears to be set to a "robust" massage.."

As Gaz rushes in to look for controls on the massage table that is 'pleasuring' Nakonechkin, the empty table that Gaz walks past comes to life, reaches out, grabs Gaz and moves him onto the table!

The table performs a quick scan of you (presumably to identify your physique) and then it begins to give you a massage that hurts so good for 3 points of damage!

With no better ideas in mind, Nako walk up to the table that's got a hold of Gaz and swings her Doshko at it!!

Quonx moves past Gaz and disables the table that is pummeling Nakonechkin! Nakonechkin rolls off the table and half walks and half crawls out of the room, coughing and sputtering.

Nako takes a swing at Gaz's table but her attack bounces harmlessly off the table!!

Gaz Table vs KAC+8, maintain: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
Damage, non-lethal: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
The table working on Gaz maintains its grip on him and he takes another 3 points of damage!!

Grabby arms vs KAC+8, grapple: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
Damage, non-lethal: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Meanwhile, the table at the far end of the room reaches out and successfully grabs Quonx, kneading her muscles, working 2SP out of her!!

As it turns out, it's quite accurate showing Gaz stuck on one table, Nakonechkin on the next table and Nako attacking Gaz's table! Seeing the table continue to work its unwanted magic on Gaz, Nako takes two swings at the table this time!!!

Gaz tries again to slip away but again, the massage table proves too insistent on relaxing Gaz!! Gaz's escape attempt fails!!

A wave of fatigue washes over Quonx as well but luckily, she does manage to escape the tables' arms!!

Dakoyo tries to inflict some damage on the table but the attack, unfortunately, misses any vulnerable portions!!

Nako, however, takes two mighty swings and manages to smash through bits of the metallic structure of the table (hardness applies...), doing a total of 8 points of damage to the table!!

Inspiring boost can't be used on yourself. But as for whether it can be used on others, I don't think the authors intended the massage tables to count as significant enemies. HOWEVER, considering how comedically well these tables have been faring against you guys, I'd say yes, you can use it on Quonx!
