To the Max! This is going to be an absurd game of pure fun! It will be completely open sandbox! You could travel to the Stolenlands and make your own kingdom, stay in the city of Absalom, travel to Katapesh to find the Legacy of Fire, travel to the frozen tundra of the Lands of the Linnorm Kings to the carnivorous jungles of the Mwangi Expanse, and from the dervish-filled deserts of Qadira to the elven bowers of Kyonin or even the devil-haunted metropolises of Cheliax, or many other locations... we will be starting in Brevoy and a bit in the past as most know it. The Royalty have all vanished and being vassals of that reign you might want to move quickly.
Everyone gets to roll 5d6 keeping the top 4!
No Tax Feats.
2 traits.
5th level characters. Roll for all hit points but 1st level which is max.
Pre built races... 3rd party possibly acceptable by request.
Can we use normal or advanced firearms? Technological items? Go equipment crazy.... all firearms allowed and tech items
No gestalt... you could find an event or magical site to get gestalt.
background skills
20,000 gp to spend on your equipment, you cannot spend more than half on one item. You can recover at most 5,000 gp in creating items of your own.
For each 3 paragraphs of background you gain additional perks:
1 - extra trait,
2 - extra feat,
3 - extra +2 to an ability score,
4 - gain a mount CR 3 or below,
5 - gain a crafting feat,
6 - gain a wish as the spell,
7 - gain a magical ring no more than 8,000 gp (You must write the description, abilities, and background of the ring in your crunch as well),
8 - gain a familiar or animal companion,
9 - gain a super power, think xmen
10 - gain another 'Special' from another class, it cannot be a Special above 5th level and must be static.
I am fine if you want to conspire with other players to decide what you want to play... ;)

I love building characters. Rather than use Lidras I’ll make a new PC. Hope you don’t mind if I count all of the backstory I wrote for him to apply for these boons
5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 5, 4) = 22 19
5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 6, 4) = 23 22!
5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 5, 5, 5) = 18 17
5d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 1, 4) = 18 17
5d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 1, 2) = 12 11
5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 1, 4) = 13 12
Quite front loaded. But a 22? Yeah.
HP: 4d10 ⇒ (5, 9, 6, 10) = 30
Not sure on Class yet but it will be martial. I’m thinking an Enlightened Bloodrager.

Grumbaki here. Got myself a Dwarven Aasimar Enlightened Paladin of Torag. Paladin oath is replaced with self perfection, so he won’t have usual Paladin problems with other party members.

Dare I ask? I suppose I will see it when you are done.
New characters are stuck with the new rules, no substitutions.

GM Wolf wrote:Does that include returning characters? Above you had said that we can keep the old characters if we wished - however, if that were the case, the old characters would massively outpower the new ones......
That is fine but we wont be using templates this time.
That may be true but most of our previous players are gone. I may impose a curse or crutch for returning characters to level the playing field but only after discussing it with the player via PM.
GM Wolf
Seconded. Taking the template off meant losing...100HP, 18x channel, 10ish all Saves, 10pts of damage, Double healing, etc etc.
It’s the difference between “op for normal pathfinder” and “lessser deity” in power levels.
Yeah I was wondering. The main reason I want templates out.

I'm in. I'll have to think about whether or not to keep going with Niche, or try something new. I had a lot of fun making him and I'd like to see him in action, but then, I too love making characters.
I would love to see Niche as well! If you did bring him in, he likely would start as one of the leaders of the two groups. Still it is your choice.

Sounds good, send me a PM about some possible curses or adjustments. :)

Ludwig leaned against his halberd, staring out into the pouring rain. It was just his luck to be on watch on such a night. His comrades were back in the barracks, dry, warm and probably drunk. And he was sheltering against the storm as best he could. Sure, there could be dangers out there, but on such a night? Even goblins weren’t so stupid. And then he saw something. A squat figure in the gloom. It was a dwarf? Hard to tell. Ludwig leaned forward and squinted, holding up his lantern to get a better look.
”Who there?!” He yelled. The dwarf was closer now, and he could see the ragged cloak. But what was that glint? It looked like gold. The Cloak opened, and his eyes went wide at what he saw.
The dwarf, it was as if he was made of gold. The dwarf merely wore pants and boots. Golden Tattoos covered his chest and arms, as well as presumably his legs. The tattoos though, they looked solid. As if liquid gold had been poured onto his skin and then hardened. And the dwarf’s beard! It looked like his hair was thinly spun gold. The dwarf’s corpse would be worth a king’s ransom! Such thoughts vanished as the dwarf glared at him. The traveler was muscled. Very, very heavily muscled. Ludwig had the misfortune of facing an ogre before, and the dwarf looked like he could break even such a beast.
”Rurik.” The dwarf said. ”Let me pass.”
Ludwig wanted nothing more than to do so, but duty compelled him. He swallowed nervously. ”Err...yes. Yes! But first state your business in Brevoy.”
The dwarf glared again. For a very awkward moment there was complete silence. Finally he responded ”To the friends of my people, I am an artisan in Torag’s name. I work gold into flesh. To his enemies, I am a warrior.”
Ludwig nodded, still not sure what was going on. ”I...see? Well which one are you when crossing our border?”
Rurik thought for a moment before answering. ”Artisan. One of your nobles went for me. Walked here from the five king mountains to complete a commission. It’s a long walk.”
The watchman shook his head. ”You may as well go home then. Haven’t you heard? All of the royalty have vanished. Nobody knows what happened to them.”
He barely had time to finish his sentence when Rurik pushed his way past him. It felt like being moved by a avalanche. His halberd suddenly felt very inadequate. He thought about stopping the dwarf, but then decided against it. He wasn’t paid enough...
——-
Rurik is a paladin of Torag, who has taken the saying that dwarves were forged on their god’s anvil very literally. He sees gold as being of religious significance. For he adds it to his body so that he might become closer to his god. In his eyes, doing so brings him closer to perfection. His body is a shrine to Torag, and he works incessantly to make it worthy of his deity. His fists are his weapon and his tattoos his armor. This piety, combined with celestial blood, has made for interesting effects.
He has survived the very painful process of gold-Tattoo-inscription because of his regenerative powers. Unless burned with fire, no wound stays open for long. This is because, in his words, he was forged with flame and as such that is the only way to end them. Perhaps literally, as the other elements have limited effect on him.
Personality wise, he has a one-track mind. He is utterly focused on his goal of perfection, and sees everything he comes across as being a road towards it. He cares little for the goals of others, or their morality. So long as they do not stand in his way, and do not act completely in a way that offends his morality or threatens his people, his motto is live and let live. But when someone does go far enough to rouse his anger, he is implacable in his hatred, and will rip the offender apart with his bare hands.

Yes and our time in the evil ziggurat which we don't talk about but it was bad.
IMAGE HERE
Description
Normally standing some 16' [Large] tall and Weighing some 1000lb Rosa can't be missed. She looks like a dark Angel. Willow thin, Metallic white, Hair, skin with silver orb eyes. For age, it's hard to tell, she is an outsider by looks 30ish? In movement Rosa is graceful and strong, walking with concordance. In action she is still, with explosions of ultra-violence. In dress she is clean kept, her clothing a well made simple black and red uniform trimmed with silver. The one thing that dose stand out as well is her weapon, the only one she uses. A Black HELL blade, that blade trails darkness and humms with ominous power when in use. Its hard to tell if she is the master of it or it of her.
The warlord was getting ready for bed, this nights concubine was in the other chamber waiting for him. This was his privet space, no one was let down here. To night he would strangle the girl, it had been some time and he felt like seeing the life leave a young sweet thing. Such was his tastes. He placed some sent on the sides of his face and looked at himself in he mirror. Who looked back was a man who had it all. Power, money, slaves his own army and yes magics to keep him alive for 100s of years to come. He had done well for himself.
"You are the master of all you see, men bow before you"
He said to himself in affirmation and self love.
"All men yes, but what of woman kind"
he froze, an assassin, no a killer was here in his most privet sanctum. Yet he was not dead, the moment passes and slowly he looked around while fumbling carefully for the alarm. That would bring his body guard here on mass to kill any and everything not him.
"They are not coming, sorry, seems something they ate upset them."
Now he could see a face, a woman, a very large woman. The Palice rooms where high. but this figure filled the space in the privet chamber. It was holding out a parchment.
"Do you see this invoice here, no down here where your signature is.."
He nodded.
"Good I have come to collect."
And the larger then life woman hefted a even larger black blade and said.
"Hold a moment and this will smart a little."

Sweet! You mentioned 3rd Party as a possibility. What are your thoughts on Spheres of Might and/or Power? Or about Path of War?
I have a few ideas bubbling!
gyrfalcon
Hehehehehehehe! Indeed. :)
My ideas continue to bubble. Right now I'm leaning toward reprising a beloved gnomish alchemist of mine, Clara Flingflopsparkfizz.
Synopsis:
Clara is great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Umbilicus Flingflopsparkfizz, one of the greatest alchemists of all time, and the inventor of the Ultimate Fizzy Drink. Umbilicus was bold and clever, and family lore tells that he once adventured side-by-side with Nivi Rhombodazzle himself, but the most glowing stories always return to his fabled fizzypops.
There's some debate in the family as to whether the Ultimate Fizzy Drink was best enjoyed as a beverage or thrown at one's foes, but all agree that it was zesty, uplifting, and very very fizzy.
Tragically, the original recipe for the Ultimate Fizzy Drink was lost years ago. Since then the Flingflopsparkfizz clan has worked frenetically -- but fruitlessly -- to try to replicate it.
Clarabibulus believes that her own father has gone about his Life Quest all wrong: staying at home, trying recipe after recipe. Great-grandpoppa Umbilicus adventured beside the The Grey Polychrome herself, and had clearly found interesting ingredients to add to his soda pop all across Golarion. Clara has vowed with a fizzy passion to succeed where previous generations have fallen flat. She's on a quest across the world to discover the legendary missing ingredients and create a new recipe to brew the Ultimate Fizzy Drink.
I could build her either as a Alchemist or as a Spheres of Might Scholar. Either way, she'd be a reasonable ranged fighter, a buffer (via infusions and potions), and--especially if Scholar is permitted--a healer as well.
---
So, some related questions:
1) The Druidic Herbalism Nature Bond Variant makes Druids into (in many ways) the Ultimate alchemists. Is that ability up for grabs, either as a Special from another class, or in place of a bonus animal companion?
2) Is it possible to change the stat associated with a borrowed 'Special'? e.g., could I use INT instead of WIS for this, if borrowed onto an alchemist?
3) Veering from crunch to fluff, a previous version of Clara had her background intertwined with Vecna (and her hand and eye). I know that Vecna's traditionally not part of Golarion canon. Do you have any interest in adding her to it? If not, it'll be easy to rewrite...but I figured I'd ask first.
Thanks!

13 14 21 21 18 18 definitely something good to work with. I plan up to the wish for background.
Just to clarify what do you consider tax feats, there are some obvious offenders but people have some that are subjective.
Rosa Luminasss
Take off the template
“gain a wish: Half-Fiend template”
Here that was changed to gain a wish as the spell. So for Rosa dropping said Template and getting that spell will make you balanced here
Taking off the template from the resubmitted pc for just one level is just too much work, talking to GM about other ways of having her Balanced.
Rosa Luminasss
But Rosa has Her templae V wish Boon.
1 - extra trait:
Fiendish Confidence
You expect to be obeyed, and are rarely proven wrong.
Benefit(s) You gain a +1 trait bonus on Intimidate checks, and Intimidate is a class skill for you.
2 - extra feat: Intimidating Prowess (Combat)
Your physical might is intimidating to others.
Benefit: Add your Strength modifier to Intimidate skill checks in addition to your Charisma modifier.
3 - extra +2 to an ability score: Wisdom
4 - gain a mount CR 3 or below: Fiendish Possessed Hell Blade can cast 'gate' 1/day but only to Rosa's office in the hell's for it and Rosa only.
5 - gain a crafting feat: Craft Wonder items
6 - gain a wish: Half-Fiend template
7 - gain a magical ring no more than 8,000 gp:
Ring of Protection +2 [Boon]
8 - gain a familiar or animal companion: Glory Domain, with Heroism subdomain = Fiendish Possessed Hell Blade
9 - gain a super power: Can Change her Size by one step at will, bones and speed changes to match. Speed 30/40/50 --/+2str-2Dex/+4Str-4Dex [Her personal Items listed under items on PC sheet change size as well, picked up items do not]
10 - gain another 'Special' from another class: Investigator
Inspiration (Ex)
An investigator is beyond knowledgeable and skilled—he also possesses keen powers of observation and deduction that far surpass the abilities of others. An investigator typically uses these powers to aid in their investigations, but can also use these flashes of inspiration in other situations. An investigator has the ability to augment skill checks and ability checks through his brilliant inspiration. The investigator has an inspiration pool equal to 1/2 his investigator level + his Intelligence modifier (minimum 1). An investigator’s inspiration pool refreshes each day, typically after he gets a restful night’s sleep. As a free action, he can expend one use of inspiration from his pool to add 1d6 to the result of that check, including any on which he takes 10 or 20. This choice is made after the check is rolled and before the results are revealed. An investigator can only use inspiration once per check or roll. The investigator can use inspiration on any Knowledge, Linguistics, or Spellcraft skill checks without expending a use of inspiration, provided he’s trained in the skill. Inspiration can also be used on attack rolls and saving throws, at the cost of expending two uses of inspiration each time from the investigator’s pool. In the case of saving throws, using inspiration is an immediate action rather than a free action.
I really don't think Rosa will be over powers compared to the new PC builds + Boons. You can get some good stuff V wish even without templates.
Also Rosa can't use ANY Chaotic magic, Can't use any Glamer that hid's her true form and can ONLY use one manufactured weapon her hell blade. Last of all her hell blade is posses with a Devil under the control of the GM that TELLs Rosa what Hells orders are. She is more IT's tool then it her's. Trust me she is not over powered with those limiters. In fact I had really good feedback from other players about how Rosa was being played.
The core idea behind Rosa is that she is a Cop working for the hells, finding those that would escape hells justice and the commitment for dammed souls to fight in the Hells armies fight chaos.
I think it would be better to not single out just one returning PC but talk about what new players would like the old players to do generically to their 1st gen PCs for balance and what their concerns are.
Rurik Goldbeard
And Rurik has...+1 Dex, as it was changed from “wish” to “Wish Spell.” The Template gives +18 to stats all together along with flight (double move speed), immunities, damage resistance, elemental resistances, spells, etc. I honestly have no idea how to balance that. I mean...what would you even take away to make all of that equal +1 to a single stat or a single casting of a lvl8 Spell?
I think that downgrading is never fun. And for old PCs it is integral to some of their characters. One thing the templates do is give a CR adjustment. I think that what might be fair is to give new PCs an extra 2 levels to bring them up to the old PCs.
Either that or...I don’t know. I mean. I just don’t see what could be done to balance the two.
