One of the concerned commoners, an older man than most with greying hair and matching beard, by the name of Edlar guides you. "After all, I think it would be safer with you lot than not. Especially with those demons about." he wisely states. He walks with a cane more for support than anything else as he easily keeps up with the group.

He tells you, "House MacGuffin, is a minor noble lord, not one that most know but he is typically the first one out to help in our neighborhood. Hanrik MacGuffin is always kind and helping those in need. I sure hope he is fine."

Getting to the houses gate you likely all sigh at seeing the mansion's guards strung up on the rail fence. A ghastly sight as entrails are spread about and blood stains are all over the place. No demons are in sight but the gate is barred shut and the mansion front doors are wide open.

Edlar throws up at the sight and whimpers, "No my lord!"

Can anyone see invisibility?

"You know there has been states like that before. Most failed, broken from the inside and out. I have studied them. What they lacked was true and just representation of all views. You see, Law and order can rule a state. No matter how good the hands holding power.It has the habit of corrupting even the most just."

She looked at her own hands.

"Faith and rules alone can't bind a state, make it robust and long lasting. You need checks and balances to stop tyrants. and for that you need hearts and minds, the inhabitants of that state have to Believe not just in gods and law but also the state itself. Willing to take on rulers when they see keeping self aggrandizement and power over the good of the state and them."

She looked at the others somehow now driven.

"You need a kind of set of decoration of rites for the individual that a state MUST uphold. A kind of document where members of the state no matter there faith or culture, creed of beliefs have recourse under the law. And Everyone! be them the highest or the lowest, must be under accountable to that law. With out that, corruption and injustice would be there from the start. So Some form of enshrined rights outlining what the sate can and can't do.It would also act as a list of responsibilities for all members to respect and uphold."

Then she chuckled to herself and if a thought had hit her.

"I have so often written contracts that have entrapped the corrupt and powerful to hells will. It would the height of irony if a wrote a new nations mandate. So as to entrapped future would-be tyrants into being just."

This thought seemed to please her greatly.

"I'm very old and very wise, but for some thing like at to come into being. I would happily lay down my life. If we could make a state like that, this world would never forget us"

Niche kind of shrugs as he listens to the others, all the while taking in the scene at the gates of the lord's manor.

As Rosa cuts through the gates, he moved forward, taking the lead and presenting himself as the most obvious target.

"A document outlining a set of principles is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how you could ensure adherance to such a thing. Time has a way of dulling memories, and commitments fade."

He draws out a wand and with a quick motion, renews his spell of Mage Armour, as the original faded away hours ago while fighting the fires.

Rosa slashes the lock and kicks open the gates. Niche moves in to act as the tank. The opponent takes the bait and comes at him, the monstrosity comes into view once it attacks Niche. This creature stands at least 12 feet tall with a squat, pot-bellied body, massive arms, and thick, rounded legs. Its head resembles that of a trunkless and tuskless elephant. Four great backward curving horns sprout from its head behind its eyes. Its skin is slate gray with darker areas on its underbelly and back, though it is covered in blood and gore still clings to its teeth.

Since the creature fails to go down after the leg kick, he changes approach instantly, hoping up and striking the demon across the side of head with his heel as he completes a quick spin in the air.

The kick connects perfectly, smashing into bones with a crunch.

He lands neatly, and follows up the attack with two more swift Blows. The first pulls up short, as the beast recoiled from the kick, but a forth strike connects under the chin with a deadly uppercut. The creature flies backwards, lying dead upon the ground, his skull cracked and his neck broken.

"In essence, how do you maintain control without the bureaucracy?"

Rurick waiting for the brutes to come swings and slices four times making smaller wounds but making all of them count! With the first slobbing creature killed the other two go into a frenzy. Rurik and Aukan fight one as the other two go after Niche. The one in front of Aukan and Rurick disengages only giving an AoO if they have reach, then after moving 80 feet it seems like it may continue to flee.

Double Damage against Objects (Ex)
A balban’s powerful fists are particularly effective against objects. A balban deals double damage against an object or structure.

Pound (Ex)
A balban that makes a successful grapple check against a foe smaller than itself can smash the opponent into nearby solid objects (walls, floor, ground, etc.) as a standard action. This deals 2d8+12 points of bludgeoning damage to the victim. Further, the victim must succeed on a DC 22 Fortitude save or be stunned for 1 round. A balban can perform this action once per round as long as it maintains the grapple. The save DC is Strength-based.

Almost as stupid as the lowly dretches, balbans are hulking monstrosities standing over 10 feet tall. Demonic generals use these creatures in abundance in their armies, relying on the balban’s love for battle, their great strength, and their knack for destroying objects and structures. Balban squads are brutish, hulking, and hard to control. While many demon lords do employ their services, they are deemed highly expendable and are thus encountered on the front lines of any great battle.

Balbans spend much of their life battling, not necessarily for survival, but simply because they relish the chaos and bloodshed combat brings. Balbans attack any creature they encounter on sight, except those they know are more powerful than themselves. Though lacking in the intelligence department, they do not attack any demonic officer in the service of a demon lord (unless they know the officer is weaker and they can kill him or her and make it look like something else was responsible).

Balbans have slate gray skin, stand at least 12 feet tall and weigh about 4,500 pounds. Their eyes are coal black and their tongues violet. A seemingly constant stream of saliva and gastric juices oozes from their mouths.

A balban employs simple tactics in battle; smash an opponent, grab an opponent, pound it into pulp, and devour what’s left. Against weaker foes they are likely to employ their ability to cause fear or confuse opponents by shrouding themselves in darkness.

He throws the warhammer with accuracy smacking each of the two brutes on either side of Niche and throws the third on at the fleeing one. Where each hammer lands a burst of flame opens up around a hole which then more flames burst from. The first hammer misses its mark and the first brute fails to miss it taking, 10 fire damage after resistance. The other two are not so lucky being hit fully by the blazing warhammers.

With the first (probably) stunned, he pivots and attacks the second creature, dropping low and throwing a hook punch at its knee.

Rosa:
The sword relays some information before leaving the telepathy range: "Gore, blood, normal, normal, blood, demon..." It likely continues but is out of range now. Do you summon it back, at the end of the round or when?

One stunned it doesn't act, as the other prone demon next to Niche vanishes. As does the one running from the others, leaving a stunned and dead demon at your feet.

At the end of Round 3, Rosa is above the mansion by about 50 feet. There are a few towers that are taller than where she is but none close to her. You see dark robed figures in a circle, between then is a green flaming circle. A great winged beast is slowly taking form, the wings cover most of its body like a cocoon.


Matthew, Aukan, and Rurik finish off the prone demon as the other demons vanished. End of combat for those on the ground. Meanwhile Rosa you may act at will.

He looks at the group and asks, "Any spiderclimb or other options to quickly get up that wall?"

"I can Spider Climb. Shall we head in?"


The group can easily hear Rosa as she yells down at you.

You notice that half of the cultists disengage from their ritual and start to deal with the fire elemental. The huge winged demon moves its wings so it can look at you with its glowing ember-like eyes.

The doors before you are wide open. Blood stains are infrequently seen on the carpets, walls, and even the ceiling. No threats can be seen. The top of the mansion is five levels away from you, so about 60 feet. There is no sign of what Rosa said.

"It sounds like we need a more direct route! Niche grab Davian, and I will grab Rurik! Climb!" He states firmly. Once Rurik is hanging onto his shoulders the armor disappears in a wink and Aukan begins to climb the outer wall of the mansion straight up to the roof.

Meanwhile above the cultists take out the small fire elemental before it can do too much damage. As the others redouble their chanting. Rosa what do you do?

Rosa's fire Elemental had got the time she needed, the Culists where of no importance, her obligation was to fight demons. With or with our the others but they needed time to get here. She know what she had to do.

She sped dived down into the middle of the cultists. Flying dive 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 doing a hero landing. At the moment her feet touched the ground a wave of hell fire washed out over them from her over the surrounding Cultists

Niche will grab a hold of Matthew, and toss him upwards as requested.

With strength 30, no idea how far I could throw an adult male.

After that, he grabs Davian, and shifts him into a piggy back position behind him. With that, he activates his sandals, and starts moving up the wall.

Initially started by the quick piggy back, Davian calls down an touchs the ogre monk with Bit of Luck (Sp). You can touch a willing creature as a standard action, giving it a bit of luck. For the next round, any time the target rolls a d20, he may roll twice and take the more favorable result.


We will call throwing an improvised 'rock', diminishes the distance by half. So throwing a medium sized 'rock', or creature, would be 60 foot increments, maximum of three. So try throwing him with a -6 for the 180 foot throw.

The cultists all burst into flames even after a few had just put out themselves. The demon laughs and then states in a deep menacing voice, "Thank you devil spawn. I couldn't hurt them before." With a wave of its clawed hand they burn even more as half of them stop flailing. "I will not kill you as thanks for my release."

Rosa your turn, then the demons again.

She looked hard into its eyes, as a wave of anti chaos power washes over her.

Rosa put her sword away, and took out a notebook from her putch. She notes down the Demon, description, date and time. Some notes of the cult and the name Loriata Sartova, Who knows it could be the Demon was telling the truth. She is still making notes until others come.


Niche easily reaches the top of the building before Aukan. You also notice Matthew is standing and checking out bodies. Aukan eventually climbs up as well several rounds later.

He had been sent into the sky as a boulder thanks to Niche. He got most of the way up and then came crashing down with electricity around him. Though the demon had just disappeared he looked around for threats and then began to investigate the bodies.
