Take care, Panic!
Katherine Dreamborne |
Hey guys, from the 3rd to the 12th August I will be on holiday, I don't know if I will have time to post. I will be reading all posts, if I can I will try to keep up.
Just to inform you :)
I hope everything will turn out good, Panic. Take care :)

Hi Wolf, where are we at with this game? If you're waiting for something from someone, can you remind us here?
Cheers,
GM Wolf |
So sorry for not getting back to you group, I had thought I left a message and I didn't. I have had a crazy schedule and believe I have time to devote now. That is I can actually get away and devote some time to the game. Between school, family and fatherly duties I think I can finally get that time.
Pound the heck out of the demons for me! :)
Katherine Dreamborne |
I think I will quit this as well, I think things didn't go quite as expected. I'm not really for this pace, I need something more active, sorry.
See you on the boards :)
Rosa Luminasss |
Hi Everyone, I am very sorry I have not been around.
I wanted to share with you, the project I have been working on
over the last 2 years. I work on set as a VFX Production Manager.
And I'm currently in full swing filming S2 of HDM, here in Wolf Studios Wales UK.
But this week the Screens in the UK will be done and so.
I present to you, the Show I have been sweeting blood over.
Let me know if you think it is any good. :)
Rurik Goldbeard |
My issue is that Rurik would not go into a portal to hell. He meets a fiend, and after a few minutes she wants him to go to the lower planes? Just...no. That’s a bad idea no matter how you spin it. Especially as he is ready to fight side by side with Niche, someone he sees as a literal demi-god. I just can’t have him do that.
Niche |
Same with Niche. The last time he went through a mysterious dimensional portal, he was stuck there for multiple centuries.
If he goes through the portal, it wont be willingly.

I think this is the risk of a game that's VERY sandboxy (plus characters with genuine motivations). I don't see a reason for the party to stay together...but I also have to say that I'm busier than I was when this started, and think I'm going to prioritize my games with a more regular pace.
Thanks so much for offering the game, and sorry to be bowing out.
Rurik Goldbeard |
I’ll be honest. Rurik just doesn’t fit this story well enough to keep going. If I’m going to be part of this campaign I’m going to need something that is much more willing to travel to hell.
Rosa...your story seems to be the driving force. If I made a character to fit this better, how would you feel about a co-worker? Someone who works for the same boss. It would allow for such jaunts to the nether planes and would mean having a more cohesive group goal.
5d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 3, 3) = 12
5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 2, 1) = 13
5d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 1, 4) = 18
5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 6, 2) = 18
5d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 1, 3) = 17
5d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 6, 6) = 21
Niche |
Oh, I'm here. Been lurking for a while as I'm not sure what to say or do at this point.
Personally, I think Rurik should stay in it, as he seems to be kind of kindred with Niche, and the two could be a good foil to the more divinely interested members of the party.
I think the issue right now is that the party is divided, and we have no reason to follow the others.
That leaves two options:
1). Niche and Rurik fight their way free of the demon attack and the rest of the party meets up with them tomorrow when they can planeshift again, or...
2). Niche and Rurik, who would never go through a portal to Hell willingly, get transported there unwillingly, say on a campaign shaped rail system.
Aukan the Goliath |
Well I suppose that Niche doesn't trust me either. I did run by... and did not go into the same portal.
GM Wolf |
Well boys, Niche and Rurik, at this point your options are: run, follow Aukan to his portal in the stables, fight the 20 dretches and other stronger demons, or I can force you off the stage...
I will give you 24 hours before I make a move.
If you are ever confused, have questions, or dont know what to say; ask here. If you dont ask we can't help.
Rurik Goldbeard |
Question.
Rurik is in elemental form. As an elemental he would be immune bleed, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning. He also would not need to breathe. So after passing his first save against the nausea, would he be able to just...not breathe? Not breathing means no breathing in any gas, so no chance to be nauseated.
A bit of a stretch? Maybe. But 5 rounds (minimum) of being helpless while surrounded means I’ll take what I can get.

I'm travelling this weekend with intermittent wifi access; bot me as necessary, and I'll catch up when I'm able.
Niche |
Still here. Got busy irl and all my games fell behind as a result. I'd rather keep going if it is at all possible to save things, though perhaps a specific campaign or adventure might help things start moving more consistantly than the more sandboxy approach. Just an thought.
Rurik Goldbeard |
I think the two things killing this right now is lack of momentum, and that it is too sandbox. Nobody in the party is really equipped to guide a leaderless kingdom...except maybe Rosa. And even then it isn’t really organic unless the campaign is “Make hell reign supreme over the mortal world.” The party needs something to really bind us together, and we need some light rails so we can know what direction to go.
I mean...if we went into this being told “You are all part of House MacGuffin, a Lesser Noble house. The ruling family has suddenly vanished. Make your house take over!” We’d all have a common goal to work off of. Instead it is “A fiend, a cleric of Desna, an ogre-Irori and a mercenary dwarf are together, and are trying to profit off of the power vacuum. Each with a different idea of profit, different morals, and different end term goals. None of whom have any ties to the remaining power structure, just knowledge that the king/royal family vanished.”
There is nothing *wrong* with this, but it takes a lot more effort to make it work. And right now I’m not seeing it come together
Rosa Luminasss |
I think what we are lacking is an individual or faction we can work with. We would then be the power behind the throne, At the moment its just us, and none of us want the job of Ruler. Rosa could but she would have to do it as a Despotic Leader and she knows that would not last long, as she would need the in place noble houses behind her 100%. Which is anything but the case.
Rurik Goldbeard |
I’ve been thinking.
https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Order_of_the_Godclaw
This. This is what our party can strive for. The Godclaw. Kinda.
“Although members of the Godclaw pay homage to the lawful doctrines of the gods Abadar, Asmodeus, Iomedae, Irori, and Torag, it is uncertain from where they get their divine power; it may be the case that their magic comes from their own convictions.[1]
Other Hellknight orders enforce their visions of law out of duty and necessity, but the Godclaw is inspired by religious zealotry and a clear belief that the world must learn the righteous path through force.[1]”
Now, what is our party?
(1) Rosa: Cleric of the Hells
(2) Davian: Cleric of Desna
(3) Rurik: Touched by Torag
(4) Niche: Mini-Irori
So the idea, such as it is...is to take where we are now and claim it as our own. And to do it by building a theocracy.
Now for my idea. What we do is set it up so that the new ruling class must be clerics, or otherwise prove divine powers. Something all of us have. And we make a caste system based upon our respective deities, with all parts of life dedicated to a god.
Example: We create a Council of Clerics. Decisions are made by majority vote.
We draw up a legal system, enforced by Rosa and her clerics. Very lawful-neutral in that it is the *law* and it is applied fairly to all. No exceptions. All judges are to be Asmodean Clerics.
All craftsmen work in the name of Torag, and follow his teachings. They are to be represented by Clerics of Torag.
The armed forces are to be trained in the name of Irori, with personal perfection being their standard. Be it the way of the sword or fist, they are to strive to master their art.
And for the common man, there is Desna. Davian could flesh it out.
——-
The nobles are gone? Well, let’s plow ahead then. Make a new system that doesn’t use them. Something that matches our characters in a way that compliments each of them. We can start small, where we are, and then expand the influence. Absorb neighbors until we have an actual kingdom.
What do you all think?
* Note: Gm, I like the use of House MacGuffin :D
Rosa Luminasss |
NOTE: Rosa is a cleric of LAW not Asmodeus.
She would want the Clerics under her to also be such.
Asmodeus is a little too tricky and more into Evil for her liking.
A theocracy. Now that is a great idea, a new kind of state.
Rosa would 100% go for that, lawful-neutral is great for a
state that has a back bone of laws to keep order.
I think Clerics of Desna would look after the masses. As this would have no impact on governance. Because when one wants to join a trade organisation, and be recognized as a craft person of rank. The same for military or government jobs, one then joins an order / cast with in them, knowing you have to rise in the ranks. In this way it mirrors the real world. The state being the embodiment of order, Protecting masses. While the masses follow the whims of life. For Rosa this would be a an embodiment of her beliefs in a real world state.
Your should get your PC to voice this Idea, Rosa then can send her sword to each temple of each of our gods and ask for them to send help in making a new state. As to secure places we can have the relevant faith look after it. Grand Guild halls, towns markets, Manner houses, Law buildings.
I see free lands rolling hills and towns. Places of invention, art and creativity. Crossed by roads carrying grate caravans . Heading out to trade with the world. Weighed down with goods from great industrialized cities of craft and Mercantilism. Protected by a modern ordered military. And all running in markets made with contrasts and laws protecting and keeping order. Paper money, Stokes and share, Insurance Brokers. Healthcare. Pensions and the rest. University's, colleges and schools. The best educated populace in the world. Teaching, arts, crafts, Design, Engineering, magic and science. Sklasic and dinastic institutions. And books, lots and lots of books.

I'm traveling again the next day or two (headed back home this time), so I may be afk for a bit. Bot me as necessary
