Xusius |
Xusius will be happy to go in the third or fourth spot. He also uses his Wand of Mage Armor on himself.
GM Rinaldo |
Xusius, I am assuming you intend to re-apply Mage Armor as needed to keep it available, so you will need to expend 3 charges before the next encounter, as just over 2 hours will be passing. Total time since you began is now a little over 5 hours.
Over the next few hours, the rough, mountainous scrubland gradually flattens and gives way to thicker copses of trees sustained by a series of chilly, narrow streams. Kalkamedes’s trail meanders generally northward through the woods.
Thankfully there are paths through the woods, and with a little nudging here and there you are able to keep him walking more or less along them.
GM Rinaldo |
Moria: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Zordlon Moonsilver |
Zordlon hears the message and nods.
Can not draw a wand without suspicion. So will not try it.
Moria Dolar |
Moria has not let go of her sword since the incident with the bear
Xusius |
Thanks for the info on the charges. Xusius will definitely spend the charges.

There are enough of you whispering that Flaith finally notices. Flaith can read Xusius' spoiler, and now you can all stop using spoilers. So far nothing is happening up ahead. Have you stopped walking, or are you continuing on?
Moria Dolar |
Everyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Flaith was oblivious until now, Flaith is in the lead, and she is following the sleepwalker. It all depends on if Flaith stops when she finally notices. Moria would continue walking aside Flaith if she continued, or stopped if she stopped.
GM Rinaldo |
Flaith, are you stopping or continuing to walk? If you are stopping, give me a CMB check to pull Kalkamedes to a stop.
Waiting to hear from anyone else.
GM Rinaldo |
Somewhat warily, you advance. As somewhat expected, a group of bandits jump out of the trees!
You hear a voice from nowhere way, "Well, great. You could barely survive a single bear. You're definitely going to get him killed now."
Because you are expecting trouble, no surprise round.

Moria, Flaith, and Seebonick are up! The bandits have revealed themselves, are flat-footed until they act.

Moria Raging |
"We won't let the poor fool di- wait, who said that? Grrr, later!" Moria is curious about where the voice came from, but with everything else going on, Moria flies into a rage and let's loose a battle cry before turning to the Orange bandit and slashing out with all of her fury.
Falchion, PA: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 1 = 8
Damage, PA: 2d4 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 7 + 3 = 14
GM Rinaldo |
Seebonnick, why was your initial damage 1d6+1 but your crit damage only 1d6?
Seebonick quickly jabs the bandit nearest him, surprising him with a deep wound. Moria slashes furiously, but her own target is ready for her, and dodges out of the way.
GM Rinaldo |
Flaith runs up and draws blood on the bandit in front of her.
Red vs Seebonickk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Seebonickk's dance partner swings a mace, but the gnome dodges away easily. The bandit then steps backward into the concealing trees. Yes, he took a 5' step into difficult terrain.

Xusius quickly incapacitates two of the bandits with a dazzling spray of colors.
Zordlon, that makes your attack on Blue unnecessary; do you want to move up to get Yellow into range and apply your attack to him? Or change actions?
GM Rinaldo |
As Zordlon moves up, he tosses his sword into the air. It flies up to one of the further bandits, nicks him, then returns to the wizard's waiting hand.
Kalkamedes walks forward, oblivious to the combat around him, trailing the rope along the ground. Black is still flat-footed, so no AoO this round.
Three bandits move up in tandem, clearly practiced at fighting together. Black takes a 5' step then readies his attack; Orange steps up and he and Black attack Flaith with flanking. Yellow moves up and attacks Flaith as well, without a flanking bonus.
Orange vs Flaith: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

==========
Moria, Seebonickk, and Flaith are up!
Moria Raging |
Moria slashes out once again, in a hurry to end this battle and catch the poor sleepwalker.
Falchion, PA: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 6 - 1 = 25
Damage: 2d4 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4) + 7 + 3 = 17
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 - 1 = 21
Crit damage: 2d4 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4) + 7 + 3 = 17
Whoa... I think Moria just butchered this poor bandit unless they have some insane AC. Assuming orange drops:
Moria then steps up to yellow bandit and glares the most evil stare of death at him.
GM Rinaldo |
Angered at the interruption, Moria puts all of her strength into her swing, and spills the bandit's organs out onto the ground. Yep, Oh so very dead.
Flaith Festung, called Löwin |
Taking a minor hit Flaith looks down at the wound before starting to smile.
"Not bad. But not good neither!" And she attacks the yellow one in return.
AttackLongsword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 161d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
AttackShield: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 121d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
And with a smile her wounds close.
LoHself: 1d6 ⇒ 3
GM Rinaldo |
Flaith swings her sword and cuts the bandit again, but when she pushes her shield forward, it strikes the target without any noticeable effect. Shield bash missed; Yellow is hurting but still up.
Xusius |
I will be gone all day to a live event. Xusius will fire his wand of Magic Missiles at the closest enemy that is not out of commission from the Color Blind spell
Seebonickk Core character |

Seebonickk goes after the bandit near him.

GM Rinaldo |
Seebonickk moves into the dense trees to chase the retreating bandit. He lands a strong blow, leaving the bandit alive but bleeding.
Red vs Seebonickk: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
The bandit strikes back with his mace, but the blood in his eyes leaves him with terrible aim. He then moves deeper into the woods.

Zordlon Moonsilver |
Zordlon levels his wand at yellow and activates it.
wand of magic missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
GM Rinaldo |
Xusius fires a magical missile at one bandit, and that proves enough to knock him out. Zordlon does the same at the other, causing him to wince in pain.
Kalkamedes continues walking along, dragging his rope behind him.
The bandit Zordlon hit decides he's not happy being essentially alone, and carefully backs away from Flaith and Moria before darting across the road and getting lost in the trees. Withdraw action, movement takes him into concealment. I've noted his last visible position.

Round 4
==========
Moria, Flaith, and Seebonickk are up! Flaith can just make out Red's general locaton through the gap in the trees; Black is somewhere in the woods past where I left his marker. Kalkamedes is about to get lost in the trees on the south side of the map, though his rope is lying on the trail in full view.
Moria Dolar |
Moria takes a deep breath to calm down, then runs after the rope trailing off. One 30ft move puts Moria next to the end of the rope. Is that a position that she could pick up the rope and make a CMB to stop the sleepwalker?
CMB if allowed: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
If that's not the case, Moria would full round run to get ahead of Kalkamedes
Moria rants aloud, "I am not going to get this stupid sleepwalker killed. I'll show whoever said that."
GM Rinaldo |
Flaith draws her wand and heals yellow before running after Kalkamedes.
Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Moria chases after Kalkamedes and snags his rope, while Flaith takes a moment to heal the recently felled bandit. His eyes flutter open and he stares up at her, realizing he is prone and unarmed.
Seebonickk is up!
GM Rinaldo |
Red and Black seem to be leaving, and Yellow is currently disarmed and prone. Are you going to chase down the retreating ones? What do you want to do about Yellow, and the two color-sprayed ones? We can stay in rounds if you want to, but could drop out if you don't want to continue fighting. Moria currently has hold of Kalkamedes.
Xusius |
Xusius calls out to the rest of the party in a loud voice hoping to panic the blinded bandits into fleeing as best as they can.
"Keel zem now or tie zem up for hanging later? I have ze Fireball spell memorized and ready to cast on zem!"
GM Rinaldo |
Xusius calls out to the rest of the party in a loud voice hoping to panic the blinded bandits into fleeing as best as they can.
"Keel zem now or tie zem up for hanging later? I have ze Fireball spell memorized and ready to cast on zem!"
If you would like to make a Bluff or Intimidate check to go with that, I would take that into account. (If not, that's ok, too.)
Xusius |
Oh, why not?
Bluff: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7
Moria Dolar |
"If they don't want to end up split in two like their friend, they'll scram!" Moria says spitefully, hoping to scare the rest into fleeing.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
In a much softer tone of voice, Moria speaks with her companions, "I'm more interested in the voice that accused us of trying to get our charge killed. It was none of our voices, and I doubt it was any of those bandits. Please tell me I'm not the only one who heard that?"
GM Rinaldo |
"I'm more interested in the voice that accused us of trying to get our charge killed. It was none of our voices, and I doubt it was any of those bandits. Please tell me I'm not the only one who heard that?"
"I heard it, too! I wonder who it could be?"
The remaining conscious banddits take off into the woods; you may or may not have to deal with them again. The two that were color-sprayed remain unconscious on the ground.
Those two are going to wake up soon, are you going to attempt to hurry Kalkamedes away, or do something with the bandits before they recover?
GM Rinaldo |
Does Moria know where the voice came from?
Moria holds Kalkamedes firmly in place, bewildered by this voice from nowhere.
It sounds near you, but isn't coming from anywhere you can specifically identify.
