Hector, The Flame of Liberty! |
Pretty sure I used it vs. the spiders. I've got the prestige for body recovery + raise dead + restoration so don't worry about me, just kill these bastards.
Phranklin |
GMAndrew: could you provide the layout of the sterncastle? I think the current map shows the inside but I'm wondering how I could get up there to help Hector... thanks
The Korfu |
The Korfu takes a 5' step away from Red and activates Shadow Step to get away from him (moving 30' to the far side of Raynor (by my count that brings me to 200/240 feet of Shadow Step for the day). As a move action, he draws a scroll of Summon Monster IV, dropping his Rod of Silent as he does.
GMAndrewW |
The Korfu flickers across between the decks of the two ships.
Having cast Grease you are now visible
Sempet raises his hand and casts another spell, engulfing Raynor, Phranklin and The Korfu in yet another glitterdust. All three of them are suddenly blinded.
Bwhahahahaha, now you all die! he shouts as he leaps down to the deck and rushes to engage Raynor. Red steps in to flank Raynor and claws and bites at him but is still not able to land a blow.
Zartan suddenly finds his limbs able to move again.

Zartan Samuel |
I haven't done this before, but Zartan would like to try and set up a snipe shot on Sevenfingers. Let me know if I need to adjust anything.
Able to move again at last, Zartan looks around the ship for a location that will conceal him from Sevenfingers.
I get one shot at this
Creeping along the deck he stows his sword and draws out a shortbow.
stealth: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Hopefully the distance helps, because the dice hate me this game

Phranklin |
@GMAndrewW: I was still doing my post when you ninja'ed me --> I activated a boon to help me with save DCs (please see updated post above- thanks! let me know if it helped!)
Phranklin |
Yep... sorry! Raynor is 2 pts. too high: leftover from previous fight. Phranklin is ok though. We didn't have time to buff before this one as we were running to the docks. I have another boon I can use instead if you prefer (two rerolls: one generic reroll and one that only work against undead). Let me know what you prefer.
Raynor Cordite |
Yes please go ahead and have him move. Red needed to go down badly for the action to move fwd so I'm fine with Phranklin taking a hit. If Phranklin is hit, Mounted Combat feat check to negate, Blinded penalty: 1d20 + 16 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 16 - 4 = 24 Also, I'll keep the worthy foe boon up, even though the result was still a fail against the blinding recover save, it might help against other upcoming effects, and it's not an 'after you failed the save' kinda boon anyway: it's one you need to activate first then hope for the best...
GMAndrewW |
Sempet lashes out at both Raynor and Phranklin as they pull away from him. Raynor takes a severe blow but just manages to avoid being paralysed. Phranklin takes the bite attack on his armoured shell and is fine.
Red also takes a swipe at Phranklin, hoping he might be easier to hit than Raynor but just scrapes across his hide. In position Raynor then demolishes red but remains blind!
Raynor takes 33 damage
Sempet has combat reflexes, both of you provoke as you have both moved out of a threatened square

And he's dead
The Korfu |
i really don't have anything left to do. if raynor can't solve this problem, let;s just call this a tpk and get it over with.
Phranklin |
If you haven't used pearl of power you could 5-ft. step back, recall and AoE spell like burning hands, and flame him. Edit: wait, your spell list still shows burning hands?! use it please! Also, don't know if you guys have, but it's boon-checking time if there ever was one...
Zartan Samuel |
Raynor, do you still have a Smite left for Sevenfingers? As far as I know there's no reason you can't have more than 1 Smite active at a time.
GMAndrewW |
You can have more than one smite active but it requires you to be able to see the target.
The Korfu shakes the glitter from his eyes just in time to see Sempet try to tear Raynor into pieces. Fortunately, even blinded, Raynors armour protects him from the tearing claws and teeth of the viscious pirate.
Meanwhile, on the sterncastle Hector slips into Pharasma's cold embrace.

The Korfu |
The Korfu takes a 5' step away from Sempet and activates Shadow Step to move away from Sempet, keeping his scroll close to hand.
If I can summon another ally for Raynor, we might just pull this off
The Korfu |
25' of movement brings me to 230/240, and I'll target the square Hector's corpse lies in. I arrive 5' off target, wrapped in wisps of shadow stuff (20% miss chance for 1 round)
1d8 ⇒ 8
The Korfu then moves to the rail of the stern castle, to have a view onto the melee.
GMAndrewW |
Phranklin snaps out and you hear a bone numbing crunch as his jaws close on Sempet. The Korfu sees him stagger back but he remains standing.
You will not stop me fools, I will have the Shackles and all the lands beyond! he snarls as Raynor reaches out and places one hand on his forehead. Bright white light erupts and runs over Sempets flesh, setting it on fire everywhere it touches. Sempet screams, rotten skin sloughing from his body exposing muscle, blood and bone. His remains crumple to the deck, swiftly rotting away, leaving behind the elaborate sea coat he was wearing.
Phranklin and Raynor remain blissfully unaware their enemy is dead, both still being blind, but soon after the effect ends. Raynors reflexes return and the group finds themselvees standing on the deck of the Voracious amongst the carnage. Old Flotsam remains tangled with the hull of The Voracious and, as the group gathers themselves together and lays out their deceased companions the sails of the Grinning Pixie appear over the horizon.
Calisro Benarry is on board and welcomes you all back. She is saddened by the deaths of your companions but overjoyed that you have stopped Sempet and recovered the Voracious. She claims the ship on behalf of the Society and arranges for transportation for you all back to Absalom.
And with that you have completed On Sevenfingers Sails. Congratulations on defeating what is a very difficult scenario. The high tier is even more brutal, I would put it up there on the level of Sealed Gate. I think if we had still had Drailtar things would have been very different. That last round you reachd 100 damage on Sempet, he has 99HP in low tier.
You have completed your primary and secondary success conditions so each get 2PP. You gain all of the gold and gain the All Aboard the Voracious boon. Hector, I know you are using various boons to reduce the cost of your raise dead and restorations to 11PP. Auntie Stagg I need to know what you want to do to restore yourself, assuming you want to do so? Zartan, you have contracted a dangerous disease, what would you like to do to get rid of it?
Your chronicles will be up in the next day or so. I will post a link in Discussion when they are ready.
All Aboard the Voracious! (3 boxes)
Now that you’ve defeated the legendary pirate Sempet Sevenfingers, his ship, the Voracious, is in need of a new captain. For now, the ship is in the Pathfinder Society’s possession, but you could make it yours by spending 8 Prestige Points (or less, if you’ve proved yourself in the Gloomspires before). Reduce the cost by 2 Prestige points for each of the following Pathfinder Society scenarios for which this character has earned a Chronicle Sheet: #6-06: Hall of the Flesh Eaters, #7-19: The Labyrinth of Hungry Ghosts, and #8-15: Hrethnar’s Throne.
If you become captain of the Voracious, you can use it whenever you require passage at sea. Additionally, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus on Profession (sailor) checks, and Profession (sailor) becomes a class skill for you. You can use Profession (sailor) to make Day Job rolls. You can extract several rubies from the vessel’s engine to use if you run into trouble when traveling on a faraway plane. You can check a box that precedes this boon to use one of these rubies to plane shift to the Material Plane—a process that takes 1 minute—with a caster level equal to your character level.
Raynor Cordite |
Whoa! by the skin of our teeth! I can remove the disease with a lay on hands mercy on Zartan the next day, if the scenario includes a trip back. Raynor will buy the Voracious, of course, for 6 PP (8PP - 2PP for Hall of the Flesh Eaters)
With that, Raynor will be Captain of both the Voracious and Fearsome Tide. Does his rank goes from Captain to Commodore? :)
His First Officer Mister Jollyrancher (Seneschal follower) will pilot the Fearsome Tide for a few weeks while Raynor finds a new crew for Voracious and puts her through sea trials.
Thank you GMAndrewW for running this.
Zartan Samuel |
That was close. With Raynor taking care of the disease Zartan just has to deal with the 6 Dex drain. I know it's 4 PP to Restoration for negative levels, is it the same for ability drain or just 2? Either way prestige for the drain. Zartan will conclude his delve into the Gloomspires by claiming the Voracious, he has done every floor so only 2 PP to claim the ship.
Auntie Stagg |
err...I double checked the chronicles and my current gp. I'll do 10 PP - 2 for restoration and 8 PP (raise dead) and 2,450 gp from this chronicle
Auntie Stagg |
You need two restorations and they are 4pp each for permanent negaitv elevels unfortunately. You can carry them forward to your next game
Let me double check my Prestige tonight.
Auntie Stagg |
You had 17 on the sheet when you signed up at the start.
ok then I'll just spend the 16 for the raise dead and the 2 restorations.
