Map of current fight
This is a Warhammer 40K story set on the world of Skyfall, where 5,000 years ago demons and angels warred in the heavens and broke the sky. Now pieces of that war rain down upon the land and you are the Scavanger teams sent to reclaim those pieces of lost technology that might survive, from an area called the Skybreak.

This is your life and it's not an easy one, the Skybreak takes as much as it gives but it gave you hope of better times.

At least it did, until they came

Davien feels the adrenaline slowly start to eb away and finally manages to calm both his mind and body down a bit, which lets him laugh a little bit at himself.

Maybe not as used to all this as I thought huh.

He shakes it off before hurrying back to the others. Once at the door, and hearing the sounds of a mosh pit with duncan as its centerpiece, Davien channels his powers once more. Seeking to enter the minds of these mutants and direct their... duncan like... energy at each other.

As you explore the rest of the chamber you find a huge cylinder marked Broadside Macro Cannon 24D and a window with light streaming through it.
Attached to a near by wall ringing with dim lights is a ram shackled machine, resembling a crude cogitator. Words scroll across its dim screen
"To all planet side Imperial forces, this is the Reckless Dawn. You have Tyranids incoming. We have taken heavy damage and cannot stop their descent. If you can hear us please send us coordinates of a safe drop point and we will deploy the Helldivers."

Dunc picks up a Choppa and sticks it in his Belt, and he will pet the squig if no one stops him.

@Jak no roll needed. It's a giant cannon that's so big the curve of the barrel is the far wall and you suspect that it might extend to the floors above an below.
A cannon this large will definately need a power source.
If you want to contact Dominic Jak's vox caster will do the job

The small handsized red creature snaps at Duncan's hand a few times before Duncan's enthusiasm wears it down and it allows itself to be petted

What about helldivers?

Jak moves over to the crude-looking cogitator device, seeking some way to power the titanic weapon.

Missed that. Yeah you have no idea what the Helldivers are. Might be a good idea to ask whoever is sending that signal.

Based off a quick look at the cogitor it looks like it's capable of aiming the weapon (though you swear most of these wires and lights do nothing).
It has one shot in the barrel which you can use but to load more you'll need to restore main power to this vessel

Jak speaks back over his shoulder toward the rest of his team, "We have a single projectile loaded in the macro cannon. Aiming and firing control is available through this interface. Reloading operations will not be possible without restoring full power. I will inform Lord Dominastrum that we have secured the weapon and its limitation."

Do we have a team name?

Also, does this console have a way to respond to whoever is sending the text message?

Your team name is the Steel Seekers.
This console can't reply, it's more like the 'hotwiring' has turned it into a receiver. You think. None of this machine makes sense. Under one of the panels is just a piece of papers with a face on it and that panel somehow controls the trigger

Jak activates the vox caster, configured to transmit to Lord Dominastrum's camp, <<This is Jak of the Steel Seekers calling from the Omnissiah's Wraith. I am prepared to deliver our situation report.>>

<<This is Odette Odalyse, chief communications officers to Lord Dominastrum. Please make your report>>

Male Human Tech-Priest Enginseer | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: (Body 6/Head 4/Arms 6/Legs 4) | Fate: 3/3 |

<<Steel Seekers have secured Macro Cannon 24D, which was under the control of large, green, mutant creatures. It is currently loaded with a single round. The nature of the currently loaded ordinance is unknown.

An abomination of a jury-rigged control console gives aiming and firing control over Macro Cannon 24D. We will be unable to reload the weapon unless power is restored to a larger portion of the Omnissiah's Wraith. The scope of necessary repairs to regain reloading capability is currently unknown.

The jury-rigged console was also displaying a message that it, I suspect accidentally, intercepted. The message reads as follows: "To all planet side Imperial forces, this is the Reckless Dawn. You have Tyranids incoming. We have taken heavy damage and cannot stop their descent. If you can hear us please send us coordinates of a safe drop point and we will deploy the Helldivers." End of message.

We await your instructions.>>

Notch uneasily waits, finger not far from his lasrifle trigger.

<<Communication acknowledged. New Orders are as follows:
Secure communications hub A and establish communications with the "Reckless Dawn".
The Hammers of the Lewd will rotate to your position and hold the cannon.
The Lightening Lances have secured the main engine core and are beginning the re-ignition ritual. This is expected to take 48 and 72 hours but limited power is currently available.
Contact them when you have secured communication hub A to power the communicator.
A map of the ship has been secured and is attached to this communication.
End transmission>>

You receive a schematic of the ship on your Datapads.
It shows that Communications hub A is located in a towers several floors up and it can be accessed either by going through the ship or climbing on outside of the hull.
The climb isn't too steep due to the tilt of the ship but there is still a risk of falling

Male Human Tech-Priest Enginseer | Wounds: 13/13 | Armor rating: (Body 6/Head 4/Arms 6/Legs 4) | Fate: 3/3 |

<<Orders received and understood. Steel Seekers out.>>

Jak turns to the rest of the Steel Seekers, "We are to relinquish Macro Cannon 24D to the Hammers of the Lewd and move up in the Omnissiah's Wraith to take control of communications hub A. The Lightning Lances are working to restore power to the vessel and will be able to provide the power we need to establish communications with the Reckless Dawn, which I infer to be another vessel, but one that has not yet fallen. We have been provided with a map of the Omnissiah's Wraith and can go through the ship or up the outer hull."

"Yeah but shooting the mutant might do something the ground is something I can do less about."

That's 2 in favour, 1 abstain so lets go for the stairs.
As the transmission ends the lights above your head begin to flicker as power pulses through them.
After an hours wait the Hammers of the Lewd (easily recognised by the bright pink hammer carried by their leader) arrive at your position to relieve you.
"Oh God Emporer that was a lot of stairs. I tell ya you'd had sexy pair of legs on ya if ya did that every day and I do like a man with a good pair of legs" the leader said leaning against the wall, panting.

It will take the exact same amount of time and a Skyfall of this size will probably have some good stuff in it, if the mutants haven't stolen it

Ah, I misunderstood that as going back to camp. Barracks so, as Notch would loot!

It takes you about an hour to get to the barracks, it would have taken less but you had to make 3 detors because Duncan thought some of the paths were too small.
Inside you find rows of empty cupboards and rotted beds, with strange mushrooms growing in one corner.
At the back of the room you find an locked door marked:
Riot gear storage Area A

A small key pad glows softly to the left of the door.
On it are written the words: Please enter access code

Well, you think you can break the code Jak? I doubt the access code is just lying around anywhere nearby.
