The two sickly "rats" to the south rush at Cheshire and attempt to bite her. She manages to bat their strikes away with her big paws and then chomps down on one in retaliation. All in all, the battle seems to be playing out as most fights do when cats and rats fight: the feline almost always wins.

While the appearance of the sickly spider rats would probably unnerve some people, Aurealia and Croquelle are so empowered by Croq and Roll that they easily disregard it. Aurealia manages to trip her foe, though she finds the creature oddly resilient to her follow-up strike. Thanks to the Drumstick's enchantments, however, Croq doesn't seem to have the same issue and squishes her opponent like a bug.

The survivor of Jaya's Fireball heals himself. Instead of attacking Aurealia, the surviving spider rat opts to bite Croq in the ankle. Only the strike against Croq finds purchase, but the cultist cackles sinisterly upon seeing his attack hit...

Aurealia easily trips her attacker. After that, she skewers the remaining spider rat dead and then heavily injuries the cultist attacking her sister. Speaking of whom, Croq easily dispatches the two goons before her with Drumstick.

Kallie hastily heads up the stairs to the third floor but doesn't notice anything in the main hallway.

The disturbance you heard came from the southeastern rooms.

Aurealia trips her opponent and then stabs him in the back. The man lets out a scream, only for Croq's great club to reduce his head to chunky salsa. Croq then swiftly dispatches the other cultist with brutal ease.

Aurealia, Croq, and Cheshire can hear more voices approaching from the darkness outside, specifically to the north. As for the sole surviving cultist in that area, he steps away from Aurealia's immense reach and tries casting a spell on her. He doesn't appear even slightly phased by how easily his comrades were just dispatched.

In the northern front of the fight, Aurealia swiftly dispatches the final cultist.

Jaya:
Almost immediately, you notice that something is wrong when opening the door doesn't make any noise whatsoever. Moreover, you discover that a big hole has been torn in outer wall of the bedroom! There, you see a group of four individuals gathered and readying themselves for what's likely a search of the Zincher estate.

Two of them in particular stand out. The first is a flying mass of twisted flesh, grinning teeth, and tendrils. The other is a female half-elf with chalk white hair, intense crimson eyes, and scarred purple flesh. Wielding a halberd, she is dressed in militaristic-style clothing, armor adorned with the now familiar unholy symbol of Yamasoth, and furs.

Her lackeys seem more formidable than the mooks the Andosans siblings were slaughtering downstairs.

Thankfully, due to the supernaturally imposed Silence, they don't seem to notice the door suddenly opening.

Jaya's Spellcraft is high enough that she'd automatically recognize the effect as the Silence spell. You can make a DC 16 Will save to resist the effects. You can make a Knowledge (Planes) check to identify the creature.

Croc hops off of her carpet, tucks it in her bag, and takes off running toward the staircase.

Down on the first floor, the second wave of cultists approaches. Even at a glance, Aurealia can tell that they're almost certainly more competent than the last batch. Thankfully, they still have a ways to go before reaching the tenement proper.

Kallie stifles a giggle when Leptonia succumbs to her spell. She immediately crooks a finger, beckoning her new thrall to come and stand beside her. "Ah, Leptonia, we have so much to discuss. Let's watch and see how your minions fare, shall we?"

Flying to relative safety, Jaya withdraws her favorite rod from her haversack and unleashes a remarkably contained fountain of fire, rather than simply setting their host's manor alight.

Having fallen flat on their faces, neither of Leptonia's bodyguards manages to dodge Jaya's fiery spell. Unlike their companions downstairs, though, they survive the blast and (assuming they can get past the Grease) still remain a threat. Granted, the one who took the full brunt of Jaya's spell probably won't be surviving another volley of similar strength.

Downstairs, Cheshire begins sniffing the air for Galatea's scent. She follows the trail back into the main room, where she sees a scary monster and several angry people approaching. Seeing no allies nearby that need her help, Cheshire prioritizes reuniting with Galatea, who she suspects might be upstairs.

Speaking of whom, Gali steps forward to assist Jaya. With Leptonia neutralized, she focuses on incapacitating the cult leader's bodyguards. Galatea shrugs off the enforced zone of silence, but alas, her target isn't affected by her spell.

Leptonia's Group

Leptonia doesn't actually hear Kallie's order, but she recognizes the "Come here" gesture. Having been warned by Kallie, Croq refrains from bonking the cult leader upside the head. Following the order to the best of her ability, Leptonia settles behind Kallie.

With only one viable target nearby, the nyogoth sets its sights on Aurealia. The creature lazily flies closer to her but remains just out reach. It then hurls a blob of acid at Aurealia, which hits her in the leg and immediately starts burning her.

Still singing, Croq hops back on her carpet to avoid the grease, calls out "Duck, Gal!", and surfs over her teammate's head. Seeing two people on the floor, she warns, "This is the end for you two qlippoth!" and swings at the one with the heavier burns.

Meanwhile, the nyogoth leads the charge to the second floor.

Croq sees the qlippoth take a mighty swing of his halbred and for a moment thinks she's going to take a nasty hit...but suddenly he swerves to hit the illusory double beside her.

She interrupts her raging song for a quick, "Ha! Guessed wrong, qlippah!", before swinging again with drumstick.
