Croquelle laughs, punches her sister in the shoulder, and says, "Aww, you know Croq wouldn't show up not ready to ROCK!!

"Gimme a minute."

She 'hulks out', growing big-and-crocodilian, and then pulls on the black leather pants and jacket she likes to perform in. She paints her eyes with silver and black, and puts on a big silver chain with oversized holy symbols of the major gods in the Orcish pantheon clanking together on it.

"Shall we??"

"Yeah, why not? Let's do it!" Aurealia giggles.

After Callie finishes with her new outfit, Aurealia strikes a few cheesy muscle flexing poses. "How do I look?"

Jaya swallows, managing not to audibly gulp, but after an extra moment she narrows her eyes back to normal and smirks. "Well, I'm planning on this just being a pleasant night out with friends, so I will quell my competitive spirit and stick with this dress."

Kallie positively beams as the group of ladies heads into town towards the music venue. She felt vicariously happy for Aurealia, who always seemed a little unsure of herself in social situations; overjoyed that her best friend Jaya was with her; confident that Croquelle's outgoing personality would make her stand out less; and -- she had to admit -- relieved that Cai'nan and Gali would apparently not be in attendance.

Finally! Something's going right!

Cai'nan Blakros wrote:
Cai’nan studies her reaction and is somewhat surprised. But he smiles and simply holds out the crook of his arm and says ”I suppose I am. Where do you wanna go?”

"Such a gentleman, Mr. Blakros!" Galatea says as she takes your arm. "Sandpoint Savories has been highly recommended. How about we start there? The cinnamon rolls in particular appear to be quite good; I think Audrahni bought her weight in them."

As you head off with Gali in tow, Cheshire comes trotting up behind Krodha. Upon seeing his feline friend, the tyrannosaur grins and lowers herself to the ground. The tigress promptly perches herself on Krodha's back. Krodha stands up, and the two follow you and Galatea into town.

Cai'nan, Day 78, Late Afternoon - Evening

You and Galatea spend most of the remaining daylight touring Sandpoint and finally catching up on old times. If you share any of your current concerns with her, Gali listens patiently and tries to offer good advice where she can. On a lighter note, you both buy Krodha and Cheshire a late lunch and then watch the two animal pals wrestle over the food. It’s obviously no contest who ultimately wins, but Krodha plays along for Cheshire's benefit.

Meanwhile, Galatea tells you some humorous stories about various misadventures with Honey, Shiloh, Abasi, Bethania, and/or Lana. For example, on the first birthday the twins had after you left for the Expanse, Honey tried to bake them a cake. After telling you how that ended, Gali is barely able to contain her laughter.

If asked about her daughter, Galatea assures you that Silvie is safe under Ariel's care; evidently, by royal decree, today has been proclaimed "Niece Day" by one Princess Elthariel Edasseril-Kailani. Hence why Gali was able to get outside and find you.

Aurealia, Croq, Jaya, and Kallie, Day 78, Late Afternoon - Evening

Much to Yulia's dismay, Galatea is seemingly out and thus unavailable. Meanwhile, by royal decree, today has been evidently proclaimed "Niece Day" by one Princess Elthariel Edasseril-Kailani. Having spent the morning with Kallie, she has dedicated her afternoon and evening to Silvie. However, Audrahni does tag along with you. She borrows a dress from Ariel, which fits her lanky frame surprisingly well. The quiet elf hovers around Aurealia on the trip to Bygones.

You arrive at Bygones without any trouble. At the moment, the venue is not particularly crowded. However, that might change as the night progresses...

Aurealia realizes she has gained a lot of confidence in the last few weeks. We're like, proper adventurers now. Boo-yah, baby!

She strides confidently to the bar, shouldering a few smaller men out of her way. If any give her trouble she flashes her fangs and keeps moving. Due to her height and intimidating appearance she has little trouble catching the bartender's eye. "Vodka-cran. Make it a double," she says, flipping the man a couple silver pieces.

Just at that moment the band of Sczarni women on stage strike up a lively tune, and begin singing. Within moments feet and mugs are tapping across Bygones.

Aurealia snatches her drink, and hustles to a clear part of the floor. She raises both hands to the ceiling and begins spinning and 'dancing' with wild abandon. "C'mon, girls! Dans!"

Dans = dance in Varisian.

Kallie orders a spiced rum and watches with approval as Aurealia takes to the dance floor, but doesn't follow. She can't spin without seriously risking the chance of her flank slamming into someone, so she doesn't try. Centaurs don't dance.

Instead, she stands and sways to the music, her tail tossing in time with the energetic music while she watches the two-leggers do their thing.

Cai’nan laughed at Galatea’s tales about his sisters and their antics, thinking back to better times. He avoids talking about his own frets about returning to Absalom, and grows particularly quiet should the conversation turn to inquiring about his time in the jungles.

"From what I've observed, Lana only started acting that way after Honey died," Gali says. "Honey tried so hard to fill in the gap Eleanir left. However, losing her after losing your mother and then you..."

Gali grows silent.

Cai’nan sighed. ”Lana always seemed to have two faces. One when father was busy and absent, where she was more relaxed and fun loving like Bethania. But the moment father was around, it was like a lever was pulled and the gates were raised, and all of her desire to gain his approval poured out and would make her take on some of his less appealing traits.”

He nudged her with his elbow and said ”Let’s not talk about him. He’s been on my mind enough already as is. As always.”

Croq follows her sister out onto the floor, howling along to the music, dancing, and sweating.

Eventually she loses herself to the music. By the end of the night, she's exhausted--and drunk--yet still somehow practically glowing. Throwing her big scaly arms around the other girls, she says,

Aurealia grabs Jaya at some point, to make sure she gets in some proper dirty dancing, but doesn't bother her too much. Aurealia doesn't really get drunk, just a bit buzzed, but she smiles at Croq's declaration. "Love you too, luv."

A sudden, unbidden thought strikes Kallie. I could be out there. I could be out there right now if I just used that spell. I could spin, and dance, and...

She shakes her head to dispel that line of thinking. She cheers, holds her drink up, and encourages the dancers, but doesn't venture out on the dance floor.

She gives Croq a big hug back, squeezing her tight. "You're the best. All of you," she says to the group hug.

Day 78, Late Evening to Night

After the fun winds down, you all make your way back to the Lightstaff-Silva Academy. Once you get back, William Lightstaff informs you that the preparations are almost ready. You all will be leaving somewhere Sandpoint between 4:00 to 4:30 AM.

Day 79, Early Morning (Before Sunrise)

Master Lightstaff and some of Eugeni's simulacrums teleport you all to a forest clearing several miles away from Sandpoint. Waiting there is Archmage Silva's airship. The mighty Titanicus has yet to arrive, though...

"Titanicus should be arriving any moment now. Given the sword's refusal to be moved by spatial magic, our golden friend has been equipped with the gauntlets and will be flying Baraket here in a sealed crate," William explains. "In the meantime, how about you all get settled?"

Moments later a golden speck appears in the air on the horizon. The mighty bespectacled golden dragon that serves as Eugeni's steward swoops down gracefully and lands with a loud thud. He is wearing the gauntlets that the group procured in the Cove, and carrying a nondescript rectangular crate.

He sets the crate gingerly down, straightening his waistcoat and spectacles. "Good morning. I trust I didn't keep you waiting long?"

"Hello, Mr. Titanicus. It's been a long time!" Aurealia greets the dragon, clearly delighted to meet her old tutor again. She runs over and hugs one of his legs.

Titanicus looks flustered and nods. "Indeed little Andosana. You have grown up! He looks to Kallie and Jaya as well. "Ladies," he says bowing his head in greeting.

"Hey, Ty," Kallie says. "How's Papa?"

"He is...himself. Last I saw him he was playing three dimensional chess against a clone." Titanicus rolls his eyes and shrugs. "For those of you I haven't met, I am Titanicus. I trust Master William informed you of my part in this."

The dragon looks at the ariship. "Will the Sunset Eternal be adequate transportation?"

Kallie's happy smile at seeing Titanicus sours slightly at the mention of the ship's name. She looks over at the others, trying not to make any pointed glances.

She pumps her fist across her body. "You know it, Ty!"

Cai’nan and Krodha come rushing along well after the others. He had stayed up dreading the day for so long that he overslept! But the pair balked when they saw the massive draconian before them, but seeing the others in open and friendly conversation with it eased his nerves somewhat and they slowly continued their approach.

Day 79, Early Morning (Before Sunrise)

"Good to see you as always, Titanicus," Master Lightstaff says. "I believe that everyone is about ready to go. Most of the luggage has been secured. There's just one piece left..."

One of Ariel's silver bodyguards - a massive Irriseni half-elf named Ivan - takes the gauntlets from Titanicus, slips them on, and carries the crate on board the Sunset Eternal. The rest of the Kailani entourage is quick to follow him. As she reaches the deck, a realization seems to hit Princess Elthariel.

"...Archmage Silva named his airship after Sister Setsuna!" Ariel whispers to Gali.

Keeping a neutral face, Galatea just nods at her younger sibling's observation. Most of her attention appears to be on a sleeping Silvie. Somehow, the infant slept right through Titanicus' arrival!

Day 79, Early Morning (Before Sunrise)

Very soon, everyone gets settled on the Sunset Eternal. Around 4:15 am, Titanicus finally takes flight, and to the outside world, the airship quickly appears to be a cloud. The ride proves to be very smooth; unlike your trip to Sandpoint, Krodha shows no signs of motion sickness. The ship itself has climate and atmosphere control. In other words, it's easy to forget that you're flying hundreds of feet in the air.

Day 79, Morning

Very soon, the sun begins to rise. Around this time, the ocean becomes visible on the horizon. Galatea reviews the flight plans with each of you.

"Looks like Master Lightstaff's plan is to fly from Sandpoint in the direction of Vyre or Kintargo. Afterward, he recommends that we just fly straight over mainland Cheliax using one of these routes; Titanicus and the ship's auxiliary flight systems will take turns flying to make this possible," she begins, pointing to places on a rather lovely map. "If we need to land, he recommends that it be in Andorran. Afterward, we hop from there to Absalom. If all goes well, we will reach Absalom in about three days, give or take a few hours."

Galatea briefly studies another document.

"Yeah, no. That's just asking for an ambush," she murmurs. "My sister Shiloh wants us to land at a farm she owns just outside the city. From there, we'd carry Arrogant Sword to Verde Heights."

Galatea makes a gesturing that seems to indicate she's pointing at the Sunset Eternal.

"We're taking the fastest airship in the world. We're landing in the backyard of Verde Heights," she concludes.

Kallie looks at the maps and thinks about the route. "Cheliax might be the biggest risk we face, since that route takes us almost directly over Egorian. We could instead head straight to Korvosa and fly across the Mindspin Mountains through Nirmathas and Molthune."

She considers the entrance Gali and Aurealia want to make. "Isn't this a stealth mission first and foremost? How many of those have grand entrances?"

Upon hearing the obvious hole in William's plan, Galatea frowns slightly and starts looking over the documents again.

"...This is Shiloh's flight plan; of course she'd want us to rush the sword straight there," Gali says with a chuckle. "Anyway, excellent idea, Kallie. It'll probably take another day or two more, but I imagine your route would be much safer. As for the landing..."

Galatea thinks it over.

"You're correct, Kallie," she concludes before looking through the papers for more information. "Does anyone have any alternative ideas? Cai'nan, is there a more... obscure place we could land and then swiftly get the sword to Argor?"

”Obscure to land an entire ship? In Absalom? No way,” he replies.

”The smartest and safest play would likely be to land in the water outside of the city and sail it into the dock as if it were a normal ship. Father even owns a section of the dock front.”

"I just meant a grand entrance to Verde Heights. The ship looks like a cloud. It can't be that weird to see a cloud moving in a city with that many people and that much magic. Does he even still live in Verde Heights now that he's Primarch?"

When Cai'nan makes his suggestion, Aurealia nods. "Yeah, he's actually right. Hiding in plain sight would make the most sense."

Kallie flushes a bit with pride that her ideas are being considered. "Okay, that's right. So we shouldn't be too concerned about going over water, since we're still in a ship. Anything goes wrong, we'll still float, right? So, overland until we're over the Inner Sea, then straight on to the Isle of Kortos. We put in the water just as it comes into view and 'sail'--" she uses finger quotes-- "into Absalom. Neat!"

”He’s not Primarch yet,” Cai’nan clarifies, the disdain evident in his voice. ”And besides, this is still a secret mission for now. Let’s just get it there safely then you can do whatever. And I believe he still is residing at the manor, yes.”

"A ship is far less likely to 'float' if asked to do so after careening out of the sky because something went wrong. Still, it's not as though smashing into the ground is any better, and there are far fewer landmarks at sea to help pinpoint us for teleportation. The assumption should be that if they have similar information about the Sword's movements, we can expect them to attack us between the ship and the manor. If it were safe to land there, I'd recommend it, but we'll just have to be on our guard once we reach the docks."

If possible, Jaya would like to copy Feather Fall into her spellbook for the trip :-)

Kallie spends most of her time either hanging out with Jaya or watching little Silvie.

Though, one day after numerous days on the ship, the monotony gets to her. She screws up her courage and demands to see that spell in Jaya's spellbook. After a few hours alone in Jaya's room, she emerges on two legs wearing a pair of tight leather pants. After stumbling around a bit getting used to the new balance, she tries sashaying in Cai'nan's field of view.

"I just mastered a new spell! What do you think? I can actually walk on two--" Kallie is cut off by her stubbing her toe on a slightly uneven board on the deck. Her eyes go wide and she grabs her foot as she elicits a high-pitched scream. "Gods!!! IT HURTS SO BAD!!" She falls to the deck, not able to stand on one foot, and she writhes around in her newfound agony.

"Why do you even have these stupid tiny fingers? They're pointless!" She works her way up on her hands and knees, then pushes herself up. "Ow ow ow," as she hobbles back to her cabin and doesn't come out until the spell's worn off.

Cai’nan’s eyes shot wide when he sees this version of Kallie. Of course...her lower human half is just as stunning as the top! But as the poor girl stumps her toe and falls to the ground, the gentleman in Cai’nan takes reflexive control and he dashes to her side to try and help her up.

”Ka-Kallie? What...what happened? What is all this?” he asks, half stammering, half gawking as he tries to help her to her feet.

Wimpering, Kallie still manages to turn beet red. "Jaya found a new spell. It lasts a long time, and I wanted to see--" She looks down at her human legs and her human feet. She curls her toes and shudders, squeezing her eyes shut.

"They're so soft. No wonder you have to use shoes. Gods I don't know why I wanted to try this." She flushes with further embarrassment.

Cai’nan blushes too. He immediately thought of at least one reason she wanted to, but that was a reason he had royally screwed up. He gingerly helped her to her feet and said ”Stumping a toe definitely hurts. Maybe...maybe you should go lie down and rest it...that might help it feel better.”

He then makes sure she is steady on her feet before letting her leave if she wished...

"Okay, yeah. Thanks," Kallie says, still mortified. She limps to her cabin where she shuts the door and shucks off the pants immediately.

As the pain in her toe begins to subside, she experiments with the various sensations of laying down flat. The weirdest was laying on her stomach -- her one stomach. She flipped and flopped around, savoring the strange sensations of having only two legs. She bent them in different ways, stretching them and spreading them wide. "Whoa."

The range of motion was incredible. Then there was the... She flopped on her back and stared at the ceiling for a few moments, then she pushed herself to her (two!) feet and cracked open the door, peeking out.

Once Kallie was away, Cai’nan just stared at the door for a moment before turning and walking back to the deck and well away from her room. He leaned over the rail of the airship, staring into the distance.

Why are you always such a fool, Cai’nan? You had something nice, and you threw it all away. On a chance that someone else that you could actually BE with would be interested in you too. And look where that has gotten you! Now nobody wants to even be around you.

He balled his hand into a fist and slammed the knuckles down onto the railing hard enough to break the skin along their edge.

So what? Who needs them? Who needs anyone? You are just fine on your own. You have Krodha after all. The rest of them...they just are here to see the sword safely away and then they could care less about what you do...

For a moment, Kallie was crestfallen that Cai'nan wasn't still outside her cabin door. Then she slammed the door shut hard, furious with herself. Of course he's not hanging around, waiting for an invitation to help you... explore. He's made his feelings perfectly clear.

With a mental effort, she willed the magic altering her form to end prematurely and she was back in her normal shape. She felt the familiar scrape of her hooves against the wooden deck and didn't have to worry about any splinters or her stupid toes. She had practical, useful hooves and a set of four solid, stable legs.

She curled up on her bed, no longer stretched or laying in weird, unbent poses. It was comforting. That's what she told herself.

@Jaya: No problem.

Day 83, Early Afternoon

After four days of nonstop flying, you finally reach the Inner Sea. The air journey itself is surprisingly uneventful. You end up taking what is likely the safest route possible (Korvosan Varisia to Nirmathas to Molthune to Druma to the tip of the Five Kings Mountains to Andorran) before Titanicus carefully lands the Sunset Eternal in the Inner Sea.

Day 84, Afternoon

It takes another day of "sailing" before you reach Absalom. It likely would have taken a bit longer in a normal ship, but like The Forgiven Queen, the Sunset Eternal is no ordinary ship! Very soon, a disguised Titanicus sails the ship into the Argorian Docks...

”That will probably be fine. But once we are within the estates gates, we will have nothing to worry ourselves about further,” Cai’nan replies.

At least in regards to the sword.

After Kallie's new spell doesn't lead to her friend breaking down her cabin door to tell her everything, and also doesn't lead to Cai'nan and Kallie making mooneyes at each other in the mess, Jaya discretely leaves a discretely wrapped box in Kallie's cabin with a short note:

"Bipedal physiology makes for easier access for certain stress-relieving activities. I have some technical guides that may be of use to you. I'll keep them beside my nightstand if you don't want to ask.

P.S. I leave it to your good judgment whether I want those pants returned. I will Never ask."

"Will Krodha be among the waitstaff? I have some prowess with illusions, but that would be quite difficult to maintain."

Cai’nan looks at Krodha and shrugs. ”Maybe I don’t need to be in an illusion at all. I am his son after all. I could just be escorting the caterers back to the manor myself. I’m sure not everyone in the city is aware of when everyone else arrives or leaves. So my being here may be a surprise, but not an unusual one.”

It isn’t hard to note that Cai’nan is trying not to make too much eye contact with anyone in the group.

”He was actually born here. And besides, it’s not the first time a tyrannosaur has been in the city...” Cai’nan muses with a smirk.

Aurealia is struck silent by the sheer size of Absalom. She just stares and stares as they fly in. "I knew it would be huge, but this....this is....AMAZING! I never knew there were so many people on all of Golarion! Look at all the buildings!"
