"Flohr, if the villagerss attack I think I can blind them for a ssshort time. It may prevent uss needing to harm them."


Sihtric whispers in a strange tongue, and his hands begin to glow blue. He stares down the tunnel.


(on his turn)
Quite out of character, Grit hesitates as to his target. He snap fires two serrated arrows towards the back ends of the brain closest to Nikolai. He knows humanoid targets better, but knows the brainstem is the most vulnerable part of brains he's familiar with.

First Attack with Advantage: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

The arrows disappear as they make contact in a flash of violet light.

His skin grows dark and speckled like stone it's surface becomes damp to match the rockface perfectly. He dashes to the otherside of the cave, his feet deftly making it's way across the wet rocks.


Female Human Cleric/1

Florr gives a curt nod, then steps forward carefully, placing herself more towards the edge of the cave's mouth.

She pulls an arrow from her quiver that has a small, black packet at the arrowhead. She nocks it and is ready to shoot at a crabstrosity or floating brain if they attack anyone in her party.


The floating brain hit by Gritnarr's arrows unleashes a highpitched screech as it floats to the ground. It's tentacles spasm releasing an acidic mist in all directions.

(any adjacent creatures take 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 acid damage.)

The Acolytes stumble towards the mouth of the cave "Noo! Don't! You must not! Morkathuul comes to drown us all!" they crowd each other, bumping into each other with little regard for safety.


Nikolai clenches a dagger tight in his fist and attempts guide it towards a soft spot in the crabs shell.

He then scampers away, feet slipping on the wet rock.

Your deft daggering easily finds a space between the chitin to plunge deep. The crab is silent but the wound bubbles with a spurt of inky purple ichor. It's posture winces as it whirls around looking for the source of it's pain.


The Brains spin in the air, buoyantly bobbing. Their stretched Oleksandesque faces snapping their attention and squinting their eyes. In a coordinated attack a swarm of green starbursts assail Nikolai.

Counts as magic missles. Force Damage: 5d4 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 1, 2) + 1 = 10


The Crabums lurch towards Nikolai without any sense of urgency in some sort of inevitable skitter.

Pincher Pinch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Critical Crushing Damage: 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 1) + 4 = 14

Nikoali is now grappled. It's a DC 14 Escape Artist or DC 20 Str to escape.

Florr releases an arrow right at the closest brain she can see (Brain 2).

Peppercloud Arrow to hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 4) + 3 = 13

Target and all those within 10ft are blinded for 1d4+1 rounds unless they make a DC 14 Con save, on a successful save they're blinded for one round.


The Brain howls and bleeds but floats on.

Brain 1 Save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
Brain 2 Save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
Brain 3 Save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14

One brain is blinded in a cloud of stinging pepper.


Crab 1 Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Crab 2 Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Both Crabs are blinded.

The move towards Nikolai snapping their massive pincers wildly.

Sihtric takes a step to his right, standing next to Florr.

"I'm afriad we mussst deal with them. I will incapacitate sssome, but musst allow them closse enough to sssee the whitess of the their eyess"

Sihtric allows the the blue to fade from his hands, and mumbling quietly it is replaced by scintillating colors shimmering all about them.

Sihtric readies to cast Color Spray when the Acolytes reach the square directly in front of them


Female Human Cleric/1

"Good idea Sihtric," Florr says. "In the meantime, I'll be ready to keep some at bay."

She touches the blue amulet on her neck then gets into a firm stance. Holding her hands in front of her, palms out, she prepares to cast a spell. "Stay away from us, we don't want to hurt you!" she yells to the acolytes.

Florr readies Gust of Wind, which will trigger as soon as a baddie is directly in front of her. "A line of strong wind 60 feet long and 10 feet wide blasts from you in a direction you choose for the spell's Duration. Each creature that starts its turn in the line must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 15 feet away from you in a direction following the line.

Any creature in the line must spend 2 feet of Movement for every 1 foot it moves when moving closer to you.

The gust disperses gas or vapor, and it extinguishes candles, torches, and similar unprotected flames in the area. It causes protected flames, such as those of lanterns, to dance wildly and has a 50 percent chance to extinguish them.

As a Bonus Action on each of your turns before the spell ends, you can change the direction in which the line blasts from you."[/ooc]


Grit's eyes dart between targets and Nikolai and back down the hall before loosing an arrow towards the Hulking Crabbeast in front of Nikolai, he then sprints to the corner of the room "Come'ere you nightmare balloons..hopefully you aren't as smart as Olek.."

The blinded Crabum gurgles as it's eyestalks fall limp and it crumbles to the ground.


The Acolytes shove and push out of the mouth of the cave. Attempting to swarm the party outside.

*Readied Actions go off*

Strength Saving Throw vs DC 14: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8

The Acolytes tumble and slip backwards while being buffeted by the supernatural squall.


Brilliant colors explode from Sihtric's hands in a 15 foot cone, blinding the Acolytes reaching for him.

Color Spray: 6d10 ⇒ (7, 3, 4, 1, 5, 10) = 30

6d10 HP worth of affected creatures are blinded, starting with the lowest HP creature and then the 2nd lowest until HP are expended


Between you and Florr you're keeping the Acolytes and Monstrosities in the back of the cave crippled. The Gust and slippery rocks make reaching you long and tedious. The sound of wind is deafening and you're totally unable to hear what's happening deeper into the cave.

The eruption of light from your hands leaves the dazzled Acolytes try to clumsily to grab at you and drag you to the ground.

Grapple Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Grapple Dis: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

You easily avoid being tackled.


Nikolai lets an arrow loose towards the creepy eyeball.

He then scuttles behind the blinded crab and attempts to obscure himself behind the monstrosity.

sneak attack damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6) = 13


The Eyeball spasms it's inky body thrashing in the water and splashing

A floating brain wafts behind Nikoali reaching out with it's hanging tentlcles the crackle and hiss as they writhe.

Venom-filled nematocysts: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Flanking AdvantageVenom-filled nematocysts: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Nikolai avoids being tangled yet again.

Grit reaches out to your minds, "don't let them..touch...you!"


An alien voice booms in your heads.

"ganaaaath' mAgggguttth shaaataGGG..yOurrr families wiLL bE mY foood. Essspecially yoUr....FAather Florr.."

A massive tree-trunk of an appendage explodes from the depths

Legendary Action:Tail Swipe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Crushing Damage: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 5, 5) + 5 = 19

The Acolyte closest to the openings body is pulverized. A spurt of fluids stain the rocks.


The Hulking Crab tries again to crush Nikolai.

Crushing pincer adv from Flank: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12

The swirling tentacles of it's 'beard' reach towards your eyes and nose, it's massive arm lifting you towards it's mouth.


Sihtric moves to his left, 15 feet north and murmers another incantation. A glowing ball of fire appears between his hands and streaks towards the eye, ending in a huge conflagration 10 feet before it reaches the Eye.

Empowered Fireball: 8d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 3, 2, 6, 6, 1) = 30

Fireball- 8d6 damage to all cretures in a 20 foot radius. Empowered- re-roll an amount of dice up to your charisma modifier, cost is 1 sorcery point


re-rolled fireball damage: 4d6 + 22 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 1) + 22 = 30

Dex Save DC 15


Dodging the Fireball: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
Dodging the Fireball Disadvantage: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9

The creature erupts in a screech that vibrates the cave walls. It's slimy mucusy skin boils and chars leaving an unbelievably terrible smell in the cave.

Legendary Psychic Drain Psychic Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3) = 13

A fallen acolyte gurgles and stops breathing.


Female Human Cleric/1

Florr ignores the taunts of the creature in the deep and keeps her focus on her wind spell. She walks slowly north (5 ft up), keeping her hands pointed straight at the acolytes.

"Sihtric, I'll keep these people away from us if you focus your fire on that eye!" she yells amidst the swirling wind sound.

I want to blow the next row of acolytes back - I marked where I want the wind to be on the battlemat.


Resisting the windy onslaught: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14

The mob decends on Florr and Sithritic tring to pull them to the floor.

Strength Contest: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Strength Contest with Adv from surrounding: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Cunning Action disengage

Grit ducks and weaves around the swirling floating masses and slides towards the fallen acolytes. "Sorry Nikolai, I...we can't.."

Fog Cloud:
Gritnarr casts Fog Cloud on the Eyeball, to try and block it's vision.

Stealth Check Bonus Action from Skulker Feat: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

Gritnarr ducks behind a fallen acolyte for cover and draws aim on the Crab Beast.

"Come on little buddy get outta there."


Takes Turn no one sees


squirmy halfling: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

In a deft display of flexibility and nimbleness Nikolai slips out of the crabs grasp. A look of frustration on his face.

He ducks under another swipe of a claw and moves toward the fog.

The brains flock together and sweep towards Gritnarr.

Their appendages rub together in crackling electricity.

The Crab attempts to grab Nikolai by his neck with his sharp claw instead of his bumpy one.

The crab snips wide and gurgles in frustration.

Strength check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Florr yells, "Don't you recognize me? I'm Florr Hemera! We're not here to hurt you, we're here to save you! Bring you back to the village! Reach within yourself and find your strength!"

"I will do my bessst, girl!" Sihtric pulls his arms free of the grasping Acolytes and summons another ball of flame that streaks into the fog cloud.

Empowered Fireball: 8d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 1, 4, 6, 1, 4) = 23


Empowered Fireball re-roll: 4d6 + 19 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 4) + 19 = 33


The extreme heat dissapates the cloud of fog and the sea beneath the cave is clear. There's no sign of the creature.

The acolytes start groaning and rubbing their faces. Their aggression replaced with confusion.


Female Human Cleric/1

Florr dismisses her spell and loads an arrow onto her bow. She aims at the closest brain she can see and looses her arrow.

Peppercloud arrow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 5) + 3 = 13
Peppercloud extra - Target and all those within 10ft are blinded for 1 round unless they make a DC 12 Con save, on a successful save nothing extra happens.

"We are your friends," she calls to the confused people around her. "My name is Florr Hemera, and you know my family. We will protect you. Please remain calm!"


The floating Olekbrain struck by Florr's arrow dies and ruptures into acidic eruptions covering the brain floating next to it.

The second brain appears blinded by the cloud of irritants and writhes its tentacles towards Grit and covered with acid.

Grit bounds over behind the crab to offer support to Nikoali and looses an arrow into the unblinded brain who's unable to see it coming.

Shot w/Hidden Advantage: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Successful hit damage: 1d8 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + 5 + (4) = 17
